Hi. Just caught this movie and it's so thought provoking! Fell in love with the girl's character. Really loved your analysis! Why was it the hardest for you?
@rubysarah I'm glad you enjoyed the video! This was a difficult video to write because I had an idea that I could not structure when writing. So I knew I wanted to talk about life being unfair and using our two main characters as an example but I couldn't make what I was writing flow. So I kept rewriting and moving sentences around to try and make what I was saying clear. It was difficult trying to translate my thoughts to paper and even when I was doing the audio (thinking I was done with writing), I had to go back and change sentences and paragraphs because it just didn't sound right. If I didn't give myself a deadline, I would still be re-writing this video. Sometimes it is hard to transfer your thoughts on paper and this was one of those times were I found it difficult to do that. And that's why I am very grateful people enjoy the video. Hopefully that made sense. Thanks for the comment!
@@filmisjustmovingpictures it made perfect sense. Your analysis couldn't have been more accurate! Also, the female lead letting the man off the hook after he admits to killing the dog felt unfair but not surprising thematically.
This one gets ignored often because - well, you take faith in the long disclaimer at the front that no animal was injured as they are making a comparison to - its a dog eat dog world and often the dogs that bite end up being the ones that AMBITION rewards as they never give themselves away with a bark. Doona Bae was given the role (she said she knew she was an actor by the end) because she was literally the only actress to would agree to not wear make up - she said her "model rating went down a stunning 30%". The evil man is endlessly wrestling with the guilt of his actions and giving to charity and seeming to want to help find the dogs - and he sees himself as "a good person" but that life has forced him to be ruthless to get to his goals (again the guilt - but he ALWAYS will do evil when he perceived something or someone is in "the way" of his goal achievement). The scene where he is talking to the nice clerk and his nose starts to bleed - which is his true character - "his goodness" is based on hiding the blood behind an honest persona. The man who gets his "dream job and position in society" looks to the woods (we would say homeless) where the clerk ended up - and does he "imagine' her as beautiful and happy out there - so that he can literally "turn his back" and get back to his success .. convincing himself that the person who was killed by a train - opening the opportunity for him to get his dream job - might have killed themselves because of their guilt - that he would not come to that because he mentally has convinced himself that it worked out well for everyone.
Nicely written and edited review. I wish more thought was given into this film by others as well, instead of it just being viewed as Bong Joon-ho’s worst film.
I really liked your take on this one..most of the people just know this film as bong's worst films ,but for some reason I really like this one & I thank you for making this amazing analysis 💚💚 would love to see these kinda analysis for other bong joon Ho films too🤗
My guess is a special harness, much in the same way they do with hanging scenes of humans in old westerns. I was more concerned with the one where they threw the dog off the roof, as even though they clearly had it fall into something soft I’m sure it was still terrifying for the little guy
This is not hos best movie imo... But after i saw this it makes more sens... I think story is not that interesting but bolier kim really måde things interesting for me... This movie did not touch me as much
Really a good movie with lots of memorable moments, especially the toilet paper scene (many mentioned in the comment section). Recently released dark comedy genre are mostly sex related comedy (super models) and no complex story at all & boring af
The hardest movie I had to write about

It’s at least 100 km to the store!
It’s only 50 km.
It’s at least 100 walnuts in there!
It’s only 50.
Life is unfair

Thanks for the comment, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I hadn't noticed it in the movie until you brought it up. Thanks for the video!
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I think it’s unfair you don’t have more views and subscribers. This is a good analysis.
Thanks for the comment. I believe that if I keep going the views and subscribers will eventually come.

I appreciate it. I wasn't too sure if it was any good so I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
Great analysis of this movie.
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
@@filmisjustmovingpictures yeah it was very informative.
"No dogs were harmed" but how did they film that hanging scene? 👀😬
With movie magic 😬
