    I love how honest, straightforward and to-the-point he is. There is nothing pretentious about him although his work is already very impressive. And Sharon Choi is amazing as always as well.

    Never knew Bong Joon Ho directed this film. Absolutely loved it when I was still a child.

    "we can never do that (label) with your movies" Yeah, you don't say. That's something usual with a lot of korean filmmakers. Their mastery of tone, and their ability for shifting between several, without it ever being jarring, is part of what makes them special.

    the host is great, the monster is only matched by the perfection of the actors and the brilliance of the script. not to mention the amazing soundtrack.
    try watching all of kang-ho song's films. particularly JSA, memories of murder and The Good, The Bad and The Weird (which is the best western film in the past 30 years).

    I find it funny that american audiences are now starting to love Bong (and I imagine, by extension, other korean filmmakers) while a part of korean films is their criticism of american presence and intervention in their country. So go figure. How ironic.

    • @dionysus4778
      @dionysus4778 4 года назад +3

      It's not criticism, but a part of history. You can't deny the American presence in the Korean history. Mr. Sunshine is loved by the American audience, despite its historical narrative of how American first came in the Korean peninsula.

    • @15awesomehighfive
      @15awesomehighfive 4 года назад +1

      @@dionysus4778 I know, but it is also, partly, criticism. It is undeniable.

    • @15awesomehighfive
      @15awesomehighfive 4 года назад +2

      @@dionysus4778 Also, how can you not love Mr.Sunshine. Despite its excessive melodrama (which is part of the point) Tae-Ri and Byung Hun are tremendously charismatic, every scene with David Lee McInnis is a joy to behold and the rest of the cast give pin-point performances.

    • @JenniferChristine87
      @JenniferChristine87 3 года назад +2

      You'd be surprised how much koreans love americans I'm a product of both....he's not criticizing....its just a huge part of Korean history and to be honest it was the american presence that poisoned the water . it never wouldve happened with out the americans being there and it was korea that paid for it

    Why they keep calling the film Host instead of Ghost
    Thanks for letting me know... didnt know it’s English title was Host. Wow

    • @stephenlee4618
      @stephenlee4618 4 года назад +6

      The meaning of host is a plant or animal that another plant or animallives on as a parasite.
      In korean language, we call it 숙주.
      In korea, the movie title is 괴물(Monster). Monster in the movie is the host of parasite that start from drug flowing to HAN river.

    • @fromthedayaftertomorrow
