Every musician knows that one musician who can take over any show, on any instrument, here we've got 4 of them. I know one of them, you get him on the drums and the room will thunder, but never too much, if you get him on the guitar, he never rips a solo, he just puts a quick bend where it's needed to bring the song up, you put him on the bass and the song will be super tight, you put him on the vocals and a beatles concert has begun. But the you put him on the keys and you just wonder why you ever put him on anything else. I won't say this person's name but i've played live with him a few times and they are always the best shows, because the entire band knows exactly what he is going to do. and we all do it, without talking about it or anything. We just know from the little hints in his playing that the song is going quiet, loud, speeding up or slowing down.
It's rare you get to see two people that when they get together, everything seems to click and they genuinely make each other better at what they do. Homme and Grohl just seem to do that for each other and we are better for it.

All those years playing skate three, loving dead end friends. I had no idea what I was getting myself into haha. It sent me down the rabbit hole of TCV and QOTSA, thank you skate three
I had this exact experience! That game (along with a couple of NFS games) got me into all of this mess, along as being more familiar with Dinosaur Jr and the Thermals. We love a good video game soundtrack with some fantastic rock bands on it!!
Okay....The best live RUclips concert I've ever seen. If I was there I could have said the best concert I've ever seen...and I've seen many. Dave and John so locked in the pocket it's insane. Josh sounds so firkin good vocally and on guitar.....Dammit. Great to see John Paul Jones jamming with a big smile and singing! So f*cking cool he is. Incredible show man just incredible. If there's a school of rock somewhere they need this show played the day before finals ...."Now your term paper should reflect what you just saw and how it pertains to everything you've learned about the last 50 years of Rock n Roll......"
Its a shame that he doesn't get more recognition. The reason why he doesn't is because hes different, and the music reflects that. He never does the same thing twice.
Truly epic album musically and the sheer volume of talent in such a small space. Three stylistically different artists came together to make perhaps the greatest album ever.
What a cool, random line-up. I remember seeing Alain Johannes in What Is This? and their song Mind My have Still I. A couple of their members became Chili Peppers.
Saw them live! JPJ played no less than 12 different instruments during their show! It was awesome. Oh yeah, Dave Grohl played drums too! Almost forgot!
It's a custom-made 8-string "lap" steel with a chaos pad on it. JPJ had it made with the neck offset 45 degrees or so from the body so he could play it standing up. I did a bunch of research back when these guys were touring, so details may be fuzzy...

Josh can barely make it though one tour these days. I believe he only wants to be a father now.
Vinyl Diary666 we won't see a tour, best we can hope for is an EP and a few performances on TV
I love that band! Every musician on that band is multi instrumentalist, they can switch the spot on the band and that would look/sound great
So there are super bands and there is Them Crooked Vultures, blows my mind how talented they are, pure Rock &Roll
John Paul Jones is still top of his game awesome band
This is a pinnacle of musical excellence.
Awesome
Alan did an outstanding job here!
I have never seen LPJ looking so happy with a bright smile all over his face than here on stage with these 3 others making best music.
1:04:24 it's so good to to hear JPJ, his playing is so smooth and velvety
I would pay any amount of money for another TCV album.
Jesus . This is amazing .
You can literraly see how much JPJ enjoys this
Instead of being disappointed there hasn’t been a second album, we should just appreciate this album was made in the first place
44:36 that melody by Alain is just amazing
I miss this band. Most fun I've ever had at a concert
As a famous man once said.. these guys are the saviours of rock and roll... love it
everything that has been touched by Homme becomes pure gold
Its a shame that he doesn't get more recognition. The reason why he doesn't is because hes different, and the music reflects that. He never does the same thing twice.
Lol what?
Truly epic album musically and the sheer volume of talent in such a small space. Three stylistically different artists came together to make perhaps the greatest album ever.
The world needs this type of rock n roll. A new album would be great !! Thanks for this upload, quality stuff.
What a cool, random line-up. I remember seeing Alain Johannes in What Is This? and their song Mind My have Still I. A couple of their members became Chili Peppers.
I love JPJ's little dance at 00:52:38 rocking that bass with his feet!
Saw them in Wellington, NZ. Best gig I've ever been to.
I was there too... Unreal show! And acdc the night before wasn't bad either :)
Saw them live! JPJ played no less than 12 different instruments during their show! It was awesome. Oh yeah, Dave Grohl played drums too! Almost forgot!
wow Alain Johannes is soo good, you can tell it after 3 sec
What a fucking amzingly filmed, edited and sound enginereed piece of film! Been waiting years to find a HQ TCV concert on here! FUCK YEAH
JPJ truly enjoying himself on Scumbag. What a performance by all members.
Holy shit, we all know they are awesome but can we talk about the mix, it's so rare to hear a bass so prominent
Eleven years have passed... And I still don't know what was that thing JPJ was playing in No One Loves Me and Neither Do I...
I was reading the comments hoping someone would clear that up for me.
same - combo lap bass and guitar is my guess
It's a custom-made 8-string "lap" steel with a chaos pad on it. JPJ had it made with the neck offset 45 degrees or so from the body so he could play it standing up. I did a bunch of research back when these guys were touring, so details may be fuzzy...
Despite all my Rock predictions this band exemplifies that dirty Blues/Rock I crave.
This is one of the best albums and recitals made since the last decade
Wow Elephant looks so hard to sing and play at the same time. Love the rough edges of this performance! What a super group
Them crooked vultures put on a great show hope to see more full length rock concerts rockpalast provides great music when stuck at home
