Having clean wheels is important to insure that your car keeps a nice appearance. But the main reason for cleaning your wheels is for preventative maintenance. Over time, break dust sits on the wheels and the iron particles (brake pad material, metal shavings off your rotors, etc) get embedded in the wheels’ finish. The heat and friction generated by the wheels makes brake dust a highly corrosive mix. The iron particles can oxidize and start to rust on the surface of the wheels, and they can eat into the coating and pit the metal of your rims!
Frequent cleaning of your wheels is the only way to keep your wheels safe. In this video, I will share with you the best way to clean your wheels. You’ll learn all the techniques, tools and products that you will need in order to have clean rims. And it’s actually quite easy!!

Just came back from the detailing store now and bought some P&S brake Buster, a couple of polishing and correcting pads, griots clay and carpro reset. What a great Hobby!!
Pan, can you do a video on interior salt removal?
Great video! Which pressure washer/nozzle are you using - apologies if you've answered this before
Would you prefer this over Auto-Fanatic professional wheel foam?
Can you use the car pro iron remover on your paint?
I've seen like 4 Tire/Wheel cleaning videos from Pan and I still find myself entertained.
Awesome!! Thanks for the positive feedback!
@@PanTheOrganizer do you dilute brake buster when using it in a sprayer?
@@felixj2063 he said in the video that he dilutes it 3 to 1 with water. 3 parts water 1 part chemical.
Half a million subs, wow bet you never could have imagined a good sized city watching your videos? Congratulations
Heheh thanks! A viewer just put things into perspective for me. He said that our Montreal NHL hockey team (the Montreal Canadians) play in an arena with 20,000 seats. So 500,000 subscribers is like 25 fully loaded arenas like that! WOW!!
I have never thought of it that way before. That is a cool way of looking at it!
@Mike Rotchburns 538K subs and more than 300K views
Man you are so idiot!!! Do the math and keep quiet
@@mateuscabrera 541k*
@@mateuscabrera ? Mike just said something positive about Pan, namely that he has very good view-to sub ratio, whereas Pewdiepie has an inferior one. That being said, this video is pretty popular, most of Pan's videos gain less views. Not that ist is a problem but it is a weird comparison with Pewdiepie
I like the way you explain things step by step and more easy for beginners and enthusiast to follow. More power to you and to your channel Pan🤘🏼🤘🏼
Thanks Pierre!
Beautifully done! Man is this guy is awesome or what? He’s truly inspirational. He needs to be on TV.
Thanks Jesse!
That's how my poor car looks right now. I'd love to watch your process for a deep clean for winter with all that salt on the car. Thanks again as always. I'm keepin it tight and clean.
Salt?
Just go to search bar and type in what you want to know after typing in: Pan TheOrganizer.
ruclips.net/video/JBb3z-0jUt8/видео.html
They use a salt on the roads to melt snow and ice.
Depends on available options. Today was above freezing outside where I am, so I went to the local pay and spray to pressure wash the salt and crud off, then went home and in the garage used a rinse less wash to actually wash, then some spray wax as I dried. It may not be perfect, but for a warm winter day, is good to at least get it clean and add some protection.
I don't know how many different videos I've watched of Pan, or other detailer, clean their car wheels but it's always satisfying in some way to see the end results. As my car sits on the driveway, I can only wish I had a big enough garage to wash my car in during the winters.
Thanks Clayton!
Hey Pan awesome video,
Side Note I want to thank you. Because of you an ammo`s videos I purchased an Audi Black s3 with low miles from a lady in new jersey, she cleaned her car off with a broom and the entire car was scratched up, that was one reason I received a good deal on the vehicle. I used ammo`s suggestion and bringing a dry mil thickness gauge and determined this would be my ultimate experiment, as there was plenty of clear coat to work with without panel burning. It was my first time doing ceramic coating and using a buffer, it took me about 60 hours of total prep prior to applying ceramic coating, but it was worth every second. I ended up uploading a video of how she looks now and it is amazing, I appreciate the vehicle much more. Thanks again !
Great video as always brother! Brake Buster is my go to wheel and tire cleaner.

Just found your channel and this ticks a big car-care box for me! The fact that you’re from Montreal guarantees that your cleaning tips will work on my Boston car’s wheels. Some of the worst wintertime city roads I’ve seen are in Montreal so this is good stuff
Yeah our roads are absolute garbage in Montreal and to add insult to injury, our winters are super harsh too. 🤣

Great video, Pan. I use the P & S wheel cleaner and a spray foam tank, but was unsure of the dilution ratio for the wheel cleaner. So, thanks for letting us know what the proper dilution ratio is. Keep up the good work.
Question, he mentions diluting 3:1, is this 3 parts water to 1 part cleaner or vica versa?
@@abarbo12 Yes, three parts water to one part P&S.
3:1 in terms of how many ounces or ml? Confused in this example what this means exactly. Thank You!
Will you do a waterless wash guide for those who have no garage drain, no heated garage, no access to water inside the garage, during those freezing winter months?
simple, you don't wash your car in that environment, do pre and after winter detailing instead
I love those hex grips. I apply a dressing on it, make a swipe or two around the tire then turn the grip and make another swipe or two. Turning it changes the contact points when it touches the tire. Maybe its not necessary but I feel turning it allows for more surface area coverage.
Love all your videos Pan! Always so motivating. I know what I’m doing today!!
Thanks Alex!!

Nice to see you back Pan.
Was I ever gone? Never skipped a week of uploads in almost 4 years since I have started my channel...
Hey Pan, great video! How do you clean Adam's applicator after used it?
With water or if just too embedded add an APC
Since I just use water based products I wash mine out with plain water. It lasts about two months and I just detail on the weekends.
I don’t clean it as it always serves the same purpose. I just place it face down on a microfiber towel.

Hello Pan. I am an American, middle-aged, woman who just recently purchased her 1st car EVER! It was super clean when I bought it, and I intend to keep it that way. So, I searched on RUclips for car detailing videos and came across some of yours. So far, the toughest cleaning challenge for me has been has been getting my '18-inch Continental tires really clean. Got some Purple Power for the tires and Super Clean for the rims. Those 2 products should get me the results that I want. Plus, they're within my budget!
@@PanTheOrganizer
Congrats on your new car. That's always a fun moment. Super Clean and Purple Power are powerful cleaner/degreasers and not always suited for automotive use. Be very careful.
A better option is to use a quality auto grade wheel & tire cleaner. See a video I made about my favourite ones here: ruclips.net/video/jfYZh1qB1LY/видео.htmlsi=6aRtzJr0ALecrqpY
Also keep in mind that a new car is never new until it's properly detailed.
- at the factory, the paint defects are often corrected quickly by rotary polishing which can leave marks and holograms, so polishing corrects those, before you lock that in long term with a ceramic coating for example.
- vehicles are then transported by truck, train and boat so they are exposed to the elements, industrial fallout, brake dust, rail dust, etc
- vehicles are often left at boat docks (when transported by boat) or in exterior parking lots for weeks or months, again being exposed to the elements
- at the dealership, the vehicles are almost always poorly prepped using the same dirty water that was used for all the cars on a given day, and poor washing and drying methods leading to swirls and scratches
- at the dealership, a layer of cheap wax or paint sealant is usually applied to attempt to make the paint glossy prior to delivery. It's crucial to remove any previous protection before you apply a ceramic coating, as coatings need to bond directly to a virgin clear coat.
If you only plan on applying a regular carnauba wax or paint sealant though, you could decide to skip machine polishing, as those protectants can be applied over existing protection and it's not as crucial to prep the paint as well.
I explain all of this in this popular video: ruclips.net/video/QgoyrC-5CMc/видео.html
So you can better visualize the new car prep process, here are the steps I perform on a brand new car for my customers:

Hi Pan!!

Keep it up !!!👍 👍👍👍👍👍

This is basically the method I use too. I was curious about using Iron X after cleaning with break buster. Now I see that most of the iron removed was from the rotor there was still some left on the wheel. Since my wheels are not ceramic coated I will incorporate using Iron X every several weeks. By the way I use Iron X twice a year to do a full chemical decontamination, once in Spring and once in the Fall.
Thanks for the video as I learned that using just break buster, as good as it is, needs a little help in fully cleaning the wheels 👍✌️
Thanks! Brake Buster doesn't contain iron removing chemicals, although it will help dislodge looser brake dust particles if applied regularly, but yes, you still need to use an iron remover every month or so. I just like to stay on top of things. ;)
I have the exact same brake calipers on my X5. Thanks for the tip!
