      Do you mean cacao? or the herbal medicine we teach about at the Herb Gathering?
      Doctor Nativo is a not from Canada, but most of the teachers and medicine shared at the herb gathering is from local herbalists and small scale producers.

    Where in the world this new spelling came from? Why KKs?, and not, is not even how our Aztecs spelled it either. This is not English, no Spanish, nor Nahuatl. The world has appropriated our culture yes I know but please at least let’s keep it the way it is now

    Precisely the sort of clownish buffoonery that gives permaculture a bad name. May that word, used to describe honest hard working homesteaders and organic horticulturalists, never pass the lips of fools like these again. Smh.

      @Herbal_Jedi  2 года назад +4

      No mention of permaculture in this video, but I do understand the desire to find a place to share your conflicting emotions about the current narrative around it.
      Likely there is a healthier outlet for expressing how you feel about permaculture.
      FYI
      The farm that our herb gatherings take place on is high functioning herb farm that produces both food for local community as well as herbal medicine for clinical and public sale.
      It is also a horticulture therapy farm for mental health issues as well as a place for herbal student work trade internships.
      The Vancouver Island herb gathering is a not for profit that brings together 300+ people to learn from 20+ teachers how to work with herbal medicine.
      I get how on the surface this video may look like a bunch of hippies just having fun, but the reality is that these events over the last 12 years have touched the lives of thousands of people and raised over 60k to give back to protect land with at risk species and support the larger herbal movement in Canada through donations to every herbal association across the country.
      I paid my editor to put together this video partially as a way to give Doctor Nativo a platform to share his music and partly as a way to showcase some of the good energy at our gathering.
      Hope you can enjoy it for its entertainment value.
      Botanical blessings
      Y~

    This is ultimately what you become when you don't have Christ in your life 🙏☦️🙏

    • @Herbal_Jedi
      @Herbal_Jedi  2 года назад +8

      Spirit takes many forms, christianity is only one way that people connect with the divine.
      Typically I don't reply to these type of comments, as they can turn into worm holes, but today I feel compelled to say something..
      If you have found Christ in your life, that is amazing and worth celebrating... there are many who are lost with no sense of north star to guide them to healthy relationship with their fellow human beings and the planet we all share.
      Having a set of values and moral compass to live by is an important part of being a fully intact and vibrant part of this universe.
      It is blinding though to believe that there is no other way to find this than through the practices of one specific religion.
      If Jesus was here to share his messages today, I believe he would very much be accepting and inclusive of the diversity of paths in which spiritual connection can be found.

      @@Herbal_Jedi thank you for your response. I'm going to expound on the self refuting relativistic aspects of your previous comment. Now the core beliefs of New Agers include monism (all is one), pantheism (all is God), and mysticism (the experience of oneness with the divine) in a much different sense than the concept of theosis in Orthodox Christianity as New Agers tend to lean more towards the inclination that the entirety of the divine exists within ourselves. Along with these primary core beliefs are some secondary characteristics that are true of most New Agers. For example, most of them are highly eclectic. By this I mean that they typically draw their religious and philosophical ideas from a variety of religious sources. They consult holy books like the Bible and the Hindu Vedas, but also feel free to consult psychics and channelers, whose “revelations” from spirit guides are considered just as authoritative as those found in holy books. They have no hesitation in consulting astrologers and others who practice the occultic arts of necromancy, palm readings, ball gazing, tarot cards, etc.
      Not surprisingly, New Agers are also syncretistic. By this I mean that they combine and synthesize religious and philosophical ideas from Jesus, the Buddha, Krishna, Zoroaster, alleged “space brothers” aboard UFOs, Ascended Masters who live on planet Venus, and many others. New Agers believe there is truth in all religions and religious traditions. This willingness to pick and choose what they believe from various sources of enlightenment is a vivid demonstration of the arbitrary and inconsistent nature of the worldview.
      Most New Agers are also transformational on two levels. First, they believe that personal transformation takes place when a human being recognizes his or her oneness with all things in the universe. Second, planetary transformation takes place when a critical mass of human beings come into this same awareness. We are allegedly transforming-or transitioning-into a New Age with a new consciousness.
      Not unexpectedly, New Agers are typically relativistic in their view of truth and ethics. One New Age curriculum that found its way into some school districts in the United States taught students how to discover their own values. The idea in this curriculum is that values are not to be imposed from without (such as from Scripture or from parents) but must be discovered within. The underlying assumption is that there are no absolute truths or values. New Agers are well known for their view that “you can have your truth and I can have my truth,” and that “your truth should never infringe upon my truth.” And yet, it is interesting that they are willing to impose (infringe) this alleged absolute truth upon everyone! This is a self-refuting position as it creates an illogical internal inconsistency within the worldview.
      Relativism is not logically satisfying. One might interpret the statement “all truth is relative” to mean it is an absolute truth that all truth is relative. Such a statement is self-defeating. Or, one might understand the statement as saying it is relative truth that all truth is relative. But such a statement is ultimately meaningless. In contrast to such nonsense, absolute truth and morals are grounded in the absolutely true and moral God of the Bible (see 1 Kings 17:24; Psalm 25:5
      All religions do not teach the same truths. One cannot rationally claim that the various world religions are teaching the same basic truths. This becomes evident by examining key doctrines in each religion. The doctrine of God is a good example. The Christian Bible reveals that there is one personal God who is triune in nature (Matthew 28:19; Mark 12:29; Romans 8:15). The Muslim Quran teaches there is only one God, but God cannot have a son, and there is no Trinity. The writings of Confucius affirm polytheism (there are many gods). Krishna taught a combination of polytheism and pantheism (all is god). Zoroaster set forth religious dualism (there is both a good god and a bad god). Buddha taught that the concept of God was essentially irrelevant. Clearly, the world’s major religions hold completely contradictory views regarding the nature of God. The same is true in their view of Jesus and their view of salvation. This means that the New Age claim that all the religions teach the same basic truths is wishful thinking.
      While the new age view Jesus you speak of is open to all interpretations of him and all forms of spirituality, the Jesus of the Bible was clear that the path to Truth and eternal life was solely through Him to the Father. That the path would be extremely narrow and only few would make it in. The Christ (Truth) you are describing is broad and open to all personal interpretation. This is ultimately relativism vs objectivity. The Truth does not adapt to your personal perspective, it is an unchanging pillar amongst the falling sands of time. God bless 🙏
