      It's Qld I mean south Qld sorry Brisbane.. the only team that is stable out of Qld is the the cowboys..I think Brisbane is a basket case in the office.. too many chiefs not enough stable hands.. too many outside influences, too worried about making people happy instead of building a group of kids to bring threw into the NRL.... They have nothing to bring other than a brand... Already went from grandfinal 15 mins away from winning to this debarcle now shows the club itself has no spine..... Knights, sharks, dragons, warriors how is it that these clubs have a better jr system then the Broncos because they put it back into the jr systems instead of buying everyone else's good players.....

    If the broncos decided Kevie wasn’t the guy for the job then at least they’ve acted immediately. However the players really need to be smashed with accountability, because all of them played well below their best this year and you can blame the coach all you want, these are professionals who failed to perform, and it’s time the nrl adopted an NFL style salary system where a contract is 80% performance based and 20% guaranteed. Imagine the way they’d play if Walsh was on a $1,000,000 contract but only guaranteed $200,000. The rest is performance based. Tries, try assists, line break assists, line breaks and finals appearances. I’ve said it for a long time rugby league is a professional sport played with an amateur attitude. Excuses like “we just didn’t turn up today” or “we didn’t prepare well” are acceptable in rugby league but would have you cut in any major league around the world like the epl and nfl.

      Yep the players need to be held far more accountable, if the club doesn’t feel that Kevin is the man it’s the right call to move on. However I’d also argue to many people have claimed he’s a bad coach. He took us from 16th to 12th to 2nd in 3 years that’s by any standard a success. He slipped back to 12th this year and sackings happen when you go from 2-12. I suspect Kevie is a bit too much of a good guy and like Alfie wants to be mates with the players. Where as what that locker room needs is a boss. Hopefully Madge is that guy and hopefully he encourages an exciting brand of rugby league like Kevin did in the grand final run.

    Wasn’t Kevin fault
    Things went down hill after state of origin

    I went to the sharks game at Suncorp and when they called out the team was like who are these blokes
    Some didn’t even have pictures
    Also off the back of a gf a lot of teams study your players identify weakness
    A lot of the broncos players are instinctual intuitive players that can’t or struggle making adjustments to their gameplay
    I think putting that on Kevin was bs
    If they want to go a different direction with mark that’s what they should’ve said and it’s nothing against Kevin he has been a great player and coach but we believe that mark is the man we need moving forward from this point and wish Kevin all the best at the dolphins 😝😅

This year, in games where tough decisions needed to be made (bulldogs spreading the ball early on every set) absolutely no tactical changes were made and we got smashed. Then for the last two weeks he says ‘we will play finals’ and the players dished up what they did, they looked confused and had no idea what to do. Kevvie is a good bloke but clearly not a good coach, you’ve got absolutely no idea.

All of them star players. What's happened is the playing group surrendered to the constant disruptions and went into self preservation mode. But nobody is talking about them, it's all Kevvies fault. Maguire isn't going to make one shred of difference. God luck with it Madge you're going to need it. When Kevvie started to blame Origin for their form, I knew he was in denial, they were playing below Par well before Origin and if you look at the Origin series it was more often a Bronco that let the Maroons down with a poor pass, missed tackle or poor discipline.
    The Grand Final loss was also of their own doing. Short drop outs when they were in front, just handed the Panthers the game. One resulted in 6 points and Cleary forcing the other into Touch on the full gave them a penalty and the ball back after it was tied up. Did those tactics come for Kevvie?
    On top of this he has let a myriad of high achieving players go...Farnworth being one, whose form has only got better. I'll bet letting Hetherington go will be another that comes back to bite them next season.

    Talk about desperation in signing madge , coaches graveyard at the Broncs , RIP in MADGE 2025 - 2027. Take a leaf out of the Lions playbook , same coach for the last 8 years , lost the 2023 GF and ran 5th in 2024 and won the GF. 18 years without a GF win, the Broncos need to extend the reveiw and do a root cause because something is deeply wrong at the club. Hey lets remove the coach he has to be the problem , right😂

      It's a player lazy attitude problem and still getting paid whether they perform or not. Pay should be base wage with performance bonus then they might make an effort. They all want the SOO gig bc they get paid extra per game.

      The Lions have been consistently in the top for since Fagan took over as coach. They went from nothings to top 4 in two seasons and have consistently remained there. The Broncos went back terribly this year and if you watched a post game press conference Kev looked almost witless as to what was the reason. That does not instill any confidence in the players. He lost the dressing room, and he knew it, and it was embittering him. The jovial funny guy often has a lot riding under the surface. I liked Kev as coach but this year was bad. Management made the right decision. The team was going backwards fast.

Performance base salary is the way to go... work your butts off, as many of us do to pay bills... and the greater reward is there...easy money.. lousy players... With Kevie gone, Allan will follow, he has to, there is nothing of the good Broncos left there...

    Performance incentives would work but not at 200k guaranteed. Who would play the sport? We're already one of the only high level professional sports globally where most of the top income earners still can't even afford property in the suburbs they play in (If they're in the big cities). You expect a professional athlete can have pick of property, but take a guy on 700k. After taxes, management etc they're only on around 350k. Say the average career is 8 years, that's 2.8mill over 8 years. Median house price in Sydney is 1.6mill, meaning that maybe a top athlete can pay off a very average house by the end of their career. Kind of embarrassing in comparison to other major sports (And the other side of the equation as to why performance isn't as high as the NFL).

    • @jodiealldridge1547
      @jodiealldridge1547 Месяц назад +1

      My understanding is NFL pay is 20% base and 80% performance bonus.
      Only way to make some NRL players put in effort is a performance bonus bc some players are on $800k/ year doing nothing on the field.
      House prices is not the NRL problem, they don't have to make sure players can buy a house. Its a job like everyone else. If they want 600k instead, then perform on the field and get your bonus. Most people would give their right arm to earn $350k/year.
      Manager fees are part of the job. That's how they get a contract. If they don't like it do the negotiating themselves.
      Let's go back to the era where players had full time jobs doing other things and then played on the weekend. At least those players wanted to play the game.

    • @multioptioned
      @multioptioned Месяц назад
