Surely somebody with a rugby league background or somebody who is invested in the sport would be able to tell that the said player feedback was nonsense. Anybody with any sort of rugby league knowledge knows the Bronx problem is that the inmates run the asylum and the players aren't being held accountable. Of course this playing group is going to blame kevvie their ego won't let them admit they and their lack of effort was majority of the issue. Somebody who had watched the Bronx week in week out because they are invested in the game would be able to offer a more balanced opinion. P.s I agree kevvie lost the dressing room but the moment you let the players throw the toys out of the cot and pack it away for the season to rissole a coach is the moment you may as well put a dagger through the heart of the club.

The coach's responsibility is man management. Even if the issue is player attitude, that is still something the coach is responsible for. The most legendary coaches of all time are all known as great player mentors. Wayne Bennett, Craig Bellamy etc. Are particularly known for this.

Okay, let's step back: and have a look at the season that was. The bronx had a bumpy befuddled start, but they regrouped and strung some very good wins together. Lo and behold, they are sitting about 5th or 6th on the ladder ( well in contention with the leading sides ). Then, along comes state-of-origin time missing KEY players and injuries to Game manager Reyolds ecet A series of long losses set in and team morale sunk to a new low. Bronx of old behind on the scoreboard and give up the fight. Teams put big margins on them. Confidence in each other and the team sinks to low depths. State of origin exposed many weaknesses, and nobody had any answers, and when you lose confidence, it's hard to get it back. Body language and facial expressions IMO before games reflected 😔 low confidence. Altho i dont blame the coach for this dramatic fall from grace. i do think when we needed Point espec after game 3 origin. Resting key players coz you think its too much of them was a pivotal point and got trounced by the warriors! Those losses at critical moments of the season when they were expected to win were the straw that broke the canels back. Most of the players and coaches played their star players during origin. I.e., Creighton for bulldogs. They are professional athletes that train for long seasons and rigours of a season. Again, just my opinion. But the wheels fell off completely during origin. And nobody had any answers 🙄 we kept hearing we needed to fix that ... but next week, the same sentence was repeated. They were out coached by rival clubs, out smarted, outplayed. They seemed to lack game plans for the side they came up against, and without strategy and planning, you get whooped and whacked.

“Give him a couple of months” doesn’t work. Dragons - Griffin; Dragons - Mary, Dragons - Price, Souths - Demitriou, Parra - Arthur etc etc. Sack him or don’t but a couple of months is garbage. Then you’ve wasted a year. A new coach or caretaker couch is managing someone else’s culture and roster, just doing their best until they can have their fingerprints all over it the following year. There seems to be enough evidence of green shoots there imo to let Walters see out his contract. Maybe it’s the club’s or someone at the club’s way of putting a rocket up the players but that should be up to the coach.

It was the Broncos v Bulldogs game this year that was the moment Kevvie knew he was done. The Bulldogs and Ciraldo had a simple gameplan and exploited the Broncos defensive problems big time. They did a simple long shift from the backs and continually outnumbered the Broncos backline. Kevvie did not adapt once and they got absolutely belted. Since that game, every other team copied that blueprint and the Broncos major defensive issues were exposed. The Broncos defense coach also needs to take some heat and blame for this.
Kevvie simply had no answers from that point and the Broncos season fell apart with embarassing losses to the Dolphins and Storm showing just how far the team and coach had fallen.
The current playing group are athletically gifted but lack the footy smarts and steely mindset to be challenging for ultimate success. Kevvie did a wonderful job of making the players care for the jersey in the first few years but he isn't the man to take them to the next level and find the right recruitment scope for the future.

The number of unforced error this season were unbelievable - 1 metre forward passes from dummy half and into the grandstand, kickouts on the full, dropped balls, non-existent defence at times and the glaring pathetic attacking options from the "glamour boys". Cannot understand why players don't have to cop the blame for that. There would be a minimum of 6 underperforming players that should get rockets too. Not holding my breath. The Dolphins have won massive support in Brisbane for being a team that always busts its guts and makes an effort every game unlike its cross town rival.

Oath one final series with that roster is terrible, the sharks have had two top 4 finishes and a 5th place finish. Compared to our 14th 9th 2nd* 12th. Both rookie coaches and Broncos Roster is so much better then Cronulla's. Imagine if Wayne or Bellamy had this squad, it would be considered a failure if we didn't play in grand finals for the next 5 years or at least top 4. Next coach will prove just because you where a good player does not make you a good coach.
