My sister and I have a 50 acre forest in Southern Maine that has been in my fathers family since 1716. The magical forest is in a highly sought after area. The demand has caused over development. My sister tried suing me last year because I refused to sell. Her lawsuit and the thought of losing the land to a developer, almost killed me. After much introspection and forgiveness, I reached out to the local Land Trust and they were more than eager to conserve the land, and they paid fair market value. It was a great ending to a story of greed and love.

Conservation!! When I purchased 17 acres here in the Ozarks, the one thing locals asked me was when was I going to bulldoze my trees for a house. Why? I selectively removed enough to allow the larger ones to grow but I love my trees. My oxygen inside them feels different and smells wonderfully fresh and alive. One day I hope to share this space with like-minded people who want to live simply and grow gardens. I see trees are ancient living beings with a story. I want to live with them, not away from them.

I can't wait to move up North soon and explore this forest. Thank you for sharing Yarrow and I am looking forward to meeting you, and hopefully Terry and Angela, in person at the Hetb Confefence. I am excited to explore all these new future health opportunities.

Then the loggers came and clear cut the entire forest. True story Black Hills Mountains, Custer South Dakota, USA. Under the front of forest management they clear cut it. Thank you national forest service. You are a hero 🖕

Nah, the Govt is not a steward of the land.

It's a shame the forestry industry and private development dictate the health of the land. My father is in the industry and is clueless about the impact he's making. He was one of the greedy ignorant loggers protesting against the fairy Creek protest. Just pathetic.

Hypocrisy of councils in England is nasty .Its seems Nature can only be at designated parks and they are landscaped
