Turkey tail. I have a old apple tree on the ground and blue turkey tail is growing on it. It’s like a party platform for blue turkey mushrooms. Every branches and trunk is cover with blue turkey tail. Pure organic
Wonderful! We would love to support you to be successful. Be sure to check out the resources on our website and contact us if you have questions. Jessica
Nice, Congratulations on your business, all the Best with it. Would the logs used are best still fairly "green", fresh cut wood, or would logs with some rot and mycelium already started be better?
It’s ideal to use long is it been cut 2-12 weeks prior to inoculation. Logs that already have rot or other mycelium in them will be unlikely to take the new spawn.
Thank you so mush! As Yarrow mentioned, freshly cut wood is best. Older rotting logs have wild fungal mycelium growing throughout that will have an advantage to outcompete new mushroom cultures you plant in them. Jessica
Amazing video, as always. Thank you so much for the Canadian content. Awhile back I tried to buy some mushroom growing kits. All I found was from the US.
That was our challenge too, we wanted to grow mushrooms to sell at farmer's markets but couldn't find reliable sources of mushroom spawn in Canada. That inspired us to start this business! Jessica
This is an amazing resource. I have never grown mushrooms but it's not far off in my near future. Thank you for making this video production, and speaking specifically to Canada. I reside in zone 3 and accidentally grew mushrooms in my compost, so very excited to start.
Hello from Ottawa! I look forward to seeing mushrooms from the wine cap kit from Grow Mushrooms Canada that I spread at the base of various trees, last fall. Looking forward to see whether they survived the cold winter under the snow. Cheers!
Thank you for this great video. I tried your kits last summer with good success and now received another batch. I will try your pail suggestions to hopefully expand and extend harvest. 🍄🍄🍄
Thanks for this! Took notes. Can't wait to get started. Question: does the age of the wood matter for ideal growing conditions? If it's a freshly fallen tree that is still living, is that too green?
Thank you for all of the info. I would like to grow wine cap mushrooms in my back yard (located in Greenville, SC). I have lots of wood chips on the ground, would that work well? In one area of my yard there are tons of different types of mushrooms in the wood chips. The area where I want to put the wine caps does not have any mushrooms growing there... yet. 😁
That sounds perfect. Wine caps are such a treat in the fall. Ideally make sure there’s a good inch of wood chips over top of the mycelium to protect from drying out in the summer if you’re not watering the area regularly.
Even though I live in California can I still purchase your mushroom kits? Will they be successful and adapt to my climate I live on the North Coast of California.I love your channel I've foraged in my area because of you Thank you so much for all your knowledge. My herbal journey has also grown with your help Thank you for your time and knowledge and passion ✨💕 You're a wonderful teacher and your guests are spectacular 💖.

Sorry but very annoying when you keep cutting her off from answering a question and giving another question on something else , not great interviewing on mushrooms , my pet hate when people constantly do this in any interview .
This is the best introduction to growing mushrooms that I’ve seen, both educational and entertaining. Thank you to both of you!
I'm glad you enjoyed it. There was so much to talk about and it was really fun to finally meet Yarrow in person. He's such an inspiration. Jessica
