I was having an awful day, and after watching this video I honestly felt SO much better! :D Thank you so much guys for being awesome and making us smile! And of course for putting so much time and effort into your vlogs!
+Anna Kravtsova Glad we could shoot some sunshine your direction! Thanks for letting us know! -E
It's always a good day when a new Kyde and Eric video pops up!
+collectivelight Yay!
You guys are genuine & really have such a good outlook on life. Your attitudes never seem to change video to video. Love watching you guys, keep the videos a coming & take care!
Love your video as usual, and especially this one since I'm going to Osaka in a few weeks from now. You always give a very unique and genuine look to the places you go to. Can't wait for the next one(s)!
+Live in Besak Glad you enjoyed! Enjoy your trip! -E
I'm always so fascinated with your videos. Thank you for sharing your lives with us
Yeah me too
+James Gray Thanks! You are welcome! -E
+Cho Giraldo Thanks!
I'm not going to lie in this video!! not only is it one day before and one day after my birthday you did these videos but around 4 mins everything that is the pisces and me was just shouting all the things I pretty much do around my birthday. 1. The drunk dudes meaning for me I'm drinking. 2. My love for pandas secretly one of my Ex's made a picture for me with a panda hat loved that. 3. All the food like fried tofu and spicy mustard, wow how I just started eating that around the time this video was made. in 2016.
Man so much stuff in march just happens that says a lot about my personality, and you two are pretty much doing all of that.
+Kyde and Eric you guys are so funny! hahaha I definitely love your vlogs of japan. one of the better of them out there on youtube.
+Joseph Molina Thanks!! -E
Kyde and Eric: "Roughing it in hooker hotels so you don't have to!" You guys had me chuckling on my morning bus. Looking forward to part 2!
+Luis Girón Haha, glad you enjoyed! -E
After watching your videos for over 2 years decided to do it myself too! Thanks for the inspiration!
+Ikigai Travel Nice! -E
+Ikigai Travel Love your bear footage, by the way! -E
Thanks! Appreciate it! :)
Stayed in Osaka for just three days during a longer trip back in early March. Was really cool seeing you guys go to some of the same places I did. My friend and I loved how different Osaka was from Tokyo. Had a really cool vibe that was welcoming. Had some absolutely amazing omurice off the beaten path of Dotinburi too.
+BMLM We agree about liking Osaka! Wish we had found that omurice place, I love that stuff! -E
Going to Osaka in 2 days! Can't wait for part 2
Hope you enjoyed it too != E
The best vlog about Osaka that i ever watched. You showed the legit Osaka. I always wanted to see the homeless district in the city. And i was surprised how much respect and dignity are in there . When Kyde said that under the brigde smells incense (and not urine like in west) i broke in tears , thank you Kyde and Eric .
+Clarifying Japan Lighting Glad you enjoyed!! Hopefully when we get part 2 up you'll enjoy it as well! -E
Dotonburi was my fave place in Osaka. So much good food and drink. Totally agree that the signs were awesome.
Yea, wonderful place! -E
you guys are goals lol I might be going to Japan for 5 years through the MEXT program for uni. I was an exchange student during high school and I watch your videos for nostalgia and stuff haha. Anyway thanks for the great videos! Maybe I'll run into you guys one day
+Taiko Cat Nice, hope you get a chance to spend some time here! -E
The Panda-train drove right through your head! ^^
I kinda miss Osaka, I haven't been there for more than 6 months.
Great and fun video guys!!!
Thomas
Osaka known as Kuidaore ! You show places that main stream medias do not show. Excellent tour guide ! Enjoy your videos !
+Toshiyori15 Glad you enjoyed! -E
Wicked nostalgia (if that's what it could be considered). I was in Osaka on the same days, visiting some of the same places (den-den town, and Dotonburi). can't wait to go back. I did find that while Osaka was a little rough around the edges, the people were far more lively and welcoming than people in Tokyo.
+Gradysama Yea, that observation between the people of Osaka and Tokyo is a common one. -E
I'm finally going to Japan this coming March of next year! and Will be at Tokyo and Kyoto. Learned so much with your videos. Thanks for always sharing your adventures.
Awesome! Enjoy your trip! -E
thank you Eric! Best regards to Kyde too.
I love this too . it was amazing
That part of Osaka was also used in the film Black Rain with Michael Douglas (Dotonburi)
That last mascot looked terrified ROFL love it!
+Binzany Yea, haha, I laughed so hard when I watched that back. -Eric
gosh I love your videos so much! ! should be studying for my exams but then I saw this video XD lol!!
+TabbyAngel2 Haha, don't fail your exams on our behalf! -E
I love you guys been fan since ages !!! you are always awesome , be safe and healthy
+Kidda Soud Thanks so much! -E
Osaka was the first stop in my tour of Japan, a very interesting place. Many strange experiences were had.
+ikaruseijin01 Haha, that's totall Osaka! -E
Abenobea is definitely a stoner. Walking on rainbows? Loves sleeping? Favorite food is clouds? Very stoner like.
+SilverSilmarils Haha
+Kyde and Eric This room sizes are just a disrespect. so ridiculous.. japanese people think that people dont stay inside hotel rooms, to take a shower and make a simple meal? this is imoral.
+Kyde and Eric OH MY GOD I CANT BELIEVE IT!!! TOMATOES ARE MY FAVORITE FOOD TOOOO 😍😍😍 OMGGGG I FEEL SO COOL PLEASE SEND A KISS TO KYDE!!!! I LOVE YOUUUU we can be best friends forever 😭
I think to call them immoral is a bit strong. -E
I thought Abenobea looked constipated !
At about 21:13 I noticed that the background music was playing the popular Ano Hana ED. I didn't think it would be that popular so many years later. ruclips.net/video/JRF5TIhshlo/видео.html
WOW, thank for this video as it reminded me so much of my trip to Osaka back in last November. I stayed at the same area as you guys did and I highly recommend you to stay at Hotel Toyo the next time, it is cheap too (USD27/night for cozy tatami room, no air-con though) and it is very much cleaner and nicer and the staff were wonderful. I have stayed there twice and I love it each time. I preferred to walk from the hotel to Dotonburi which took me around 30 minutes as it was a really nice stroll during autumn. You guys are making me wanna go back to Osaka again! :D Oh, I love that Tsutnekaku Tower!
+cevindevy Sounds like you found an awesome hotel! We did the same walk every day and enjoyed it too! -E
Wow, I love that Smartball exists, it's like a return to old school pachinko.
Watching people react to you eating and filming is one of my favorite things ever lol.
+wawaH20 Hahahah
Found a kushikatsu place right by my hotel in Tokyo and ended up eating there several times. Food was so good and the folks super friendly.
Nice! We are always on the lookout for them now! -E
I love the Dotonbori area for its night vibe and the food. I've eaten kaiseki at Kani Doraku which is great if you love crab like I do. Though my favourite foods to tuck into are the Takoyaki from the food stands and the Okonomiyaki!
And its funny that I've actually sat in that exact part of Starbucks looking at the outside views on multiple occasions. I also like it for the free wifi! haha.
+Kari Haruka Yea, we were abusing that wifi too! Haha. -E
Hi Kyde and Eric, when will you post part 2 ? I really enjoy watching your adventures.
+Carmen Arroyo It will be a couple of weeks, unfortunately. Takes quite a while to properly edit them. -E
Hi guys, I remember the area around the zoo from my stay in Osaka - I didn't linger ! Stayed near the station and spent me time in Kyoto, Nara, Himeiji etc. Glad you found Dotonbori!
I might be heading back to Japan in October now that the Shinkansen goes to Hokaido
Paul
+Drdee1 Yea, really want to ride that Shinkansen line, but it's expensive! -E
Not with a JR pass ;-)
Definitely liked Osaka, it feels like a smaller Tokyo but still with the night life and shiny signs everywhere. Shame I couldn't stay there longer!
Yea, pretty much our feelings! -E
Thanks for revisiting Osaka. You guys are getting experts in finding the most prison like hotels though hehe. Will get back to japan in the fall and this time Osaka is on the list too :)
+TheNerdyExplorer Haha, yea, it's our speciality! You gotta give Osaka a good explore, we loved it! -E
Kyde and Eric I will :) Looking forward to part 2
That sheep in the suit was the most epic finale to this episode, I loved how he froze when kyde got next to him lol
+zquaitte Yea, easily one of my favorite moments in any of our videos, I loled pretty good there. -E
Hey, we stayed in the hotel at the Abeno Harukas not long ago and they gave us a special version of the bear! Didn't realise that it was a mascot of the building! Thanks Kyde and Eric! :)
+mshingify Oh wow! Lucky! -E
Good good. Have a great day!!!
+Minsoo Kim Thanks! You too! -E
Great video!
+OurPlanetExplained Thanks! -E
I didn't even know that about the word "racecar"?! Awesome! 👍
+Dudeson Villanueva Check this out! vimeo.com/44024588
+Kyde and Eric mind BLOOOWN!!!! 💣💥
When did you and Kyde first meet? You guys are awesome. Love your vids
I would so love to know how that went to
+Harmin vlogs ruclips.net/video/-hlVYWludYs/видео.html&t=16m46s
+TinyyTV ruclips.net/video/-hlVYWludYs/видео.html&t=16m46s
I remember an Asian fast-food joint in Rotterdam that was in this large 2-floor-plus-basement cubicle, with tables going all around the glass façade not unlike that Starbucks. Nice way to watch a city being alive and to see people.
+Noatak Kenway Sounds awesome. -E
Oh wow…..that hotel! I am currently watching your whole catalogue of video. That hotel is something….that's brave of you to sleep there. My first trip to Japan was in 2017 and paid $45 for a double bed room in some business hotel with my own bathroom, it even had a fridge. I know it's like double your budget but looking at your video….so worth it. I honestly say I would not had the courage to sleep in that room, I would skip a meal to save the $10 and put it towards the hotel.
haha, it wasn't all about the budget but also just seeing what such a place would be like. We have traveled in places outside of Japan with much worse hotels believe it or not so while this wasn't super nice it wasn't a huge deal. Enjoy the entire catalogue, that's a lot! -E
I visited Abeno Harukas last year. I prefer the pictures from the 16th floor than the top lol.
lol when y'all were eating at that fried everything place someone was playing Work by Rihhana ft Drake love your bids too
+DarkLink56 Haha, yea, you hear out of place things sometime. Glad you enjoyed! -E
Norm from Tokyo Lens visited this hotel this year. It's even more rundown now, and they were going to close the hotel soon. It seemed as if one of the owners had passed away recently.
Omg, I'm crying.
@ 26:15 the restaurant or somebody is playing Work by Rihanna, hahaha
I want to know what guide book you had and where you purchased it from! I love the authenticity of your video! I feel like I am there! Great quality!
It's a Japanese sightseeing magazine. We just get them at bookstores here in Japan. -E
+Kyde and Eric thank you! love your video
OMG I'm so happy I now have a shared experience! I also made the mistake of booking hotel diamond .... good times !...
Hahaha, it wasn't so bad.....kinda. -E
How was the temp while there in March? Was it cold and rainy? Also how long was your trip in Japan, thank you! :-)
+John K It was a bit cold and rainy, yes. That trip was just the weekend, but we live in Tokyo. -E
+John K It was a bit cold and rainy, yes. That trip was just the weekend, but we live in Tokyo. -E
Thank you! I'm looking to book a flight and the cheapest flights are middle/end of March returning beginning of April. Would you recommend to book for that time or pay more and come later in the year?
Thank you so much :)
It's hard to say, the further into the spring you get the higher your chances of rain become. April and May are pretty nice usually, but any later and you push into the rainy season starting. Of course you can also try and time your trip to see the cherry blossoms, but that can be tricky as it's really dependant on weather. -E
That building mascot looked stoned to me. Then comes the rainbow/sleeping description about him. Yeah, he's pretty stoned!. Great video as always guys.
+ghaida h Haha, I don't disagree! Dude looks pretty chill. -E
Oh!! I really wish I could have met y'all. I am currently living in Osaka~ but I've been a fan of yalls videos for awhile ;___;
+gillabill1 Maybe next time! Enjoy your wonderful city! -E
that place is Vegasish,, ,,, atmosphere looks great !
Love Osaka. Actually, there are neighborhoods like than in Tokyo by the Minami Senju area where I have stayed myself. I stayed at a place called Aizuya Inn where the room was slightly larger than yours but WAY cleaner. It also cost about 3000 yen so much pricier too but its Tokyo.
Yea, Japanese friends have mentioned a few places that have rooms like that. -E
Nice to see you guys closer to our area! Did you go to USJ? They have a new dinosaur ride! Okonomiyaki is great in this region!!
+tom moore Nope, didn't make it there this time. We were a bit short on time! -E
enjoyed the trip
+TruckerEugene Glad you enjoyed! -E
that mascot at the end looked surprised when Kyde hugged him! lol....took him a few seconds to process what was happening,,,
+beatricetsf Yea, I lol everytime I see it. -E
Guys your vid are just fantastic! i was wondering where do you get those local guide books from? do you think i can get (buy) them online (in order to practice my Japanies)?
We usually get them at regular book stores or conveniences stores. I bet that you can get them online, but they will probably only ship from Japan, so it might be a little expensive depending on where you are. -Kyde www.mapple.co.jp/mapple/product/
awesome!!! thanks or the link :-)
What guidebook are you using? And where did you get it? We are going in three months and love to find off the wall places.
We use Japanese travel magazines we get at bookstores in Japan, but they aren't in English. -E
Chopstick teeth splitting at 5:50 was awesome. Going to copy that. Probably will get splinters in my lip though.
+Richard Chen Haha, good luck! -E
Oh boy. You guys stayed in Nishinari which is probably the only well known ghetto in entire Japan. I'm glad that you came out alive :)
+Akira InAWay Haha, we certainly noticed it was a rougher than normal neighborhood, but compared to American cities it seems quite nice. Haha.
Yay!!!!!love you guys🙆👍😘
+Skye True-Hagenstein Thanks! -E
You found a high Care Bear in japan. Well done you two : )
+Oukoyami HAhahah
I surprised that both you visited at deep area(Nishinari).
That area is a laborer town. recently that area try to provide cheap hotels for Western back packers.
Osaka people favorite a worcester sauce, they have various types.
Glico(a confectionery maker) had started in Osaka, a sushi train too.
Osaka is a wonder city, modern & ancient mixed, chaos.
+Oukoyami Yeah he does look baked. And he enjoys eating clouds, so you know he has the munchies.
+kicking the smith Yea, we really agree about Osaka being full of wonder, we love it! -E
Did you guys use the ICOCA or the Kansai Pass to take the subway?
+Wen-Yen Pai No, we just used our Sucias. We only rode it once or twice while down there, we tend to walk a lot. -E
+Kyde and Eric is good to walk
the band in the intro, eric you and the bassist should do a tango duo, pour heart onto, your feelings of japan, then kyde draw album art no matter the skill in drawing it'll do on any level
haha
Popcorn and Kyde and Eric!? Best night ^_^
I was just wondering, do you two buy the little mascot plushes every time you come across one you like?
+AnimeStarwind Oh god, if we bought every one we came across we'd be broke! -E
LoL Good point!
My jaw literally dropped wean you ate Kyde's tomato. I was all like "Oh no he didn't" lmao
+Summer Smith Haha, it was complicated with the "public" sauce box, and when I realized it couldn't be dipped again after having not dipped it the first time I just decided to buy another one for her to have instead. -E
Where is part 2? I'm dying over here!!! (:
+David LS Haven't even started editing it! Hahahahaha. -E
Video thumbnails looks like you guys are in a post-prog rock avant-garde band.
I'm traveling now but cant wait to see this later!
+Hold Fast Films Haha, exactly what I thought when I saw that thumbnail!
Kyderic, the latest "hot shit" indie band, performing live tonight in Osaka, Japan!
+Hold Fast Films Yea, I sorta picked an unconventional thumbnail this time. -E
+The Acid Sausage Haha
There is also a little competition between Tokyo and Osaka. It's kind of like which is cooler, L.A. or New York?
+OurPlanetExplained NY without a doubt. -E
For some reason the last mascot had me in stitches XD the way he awkwardly stoped shaking his maraka when kayde huged him was amazig XD also, whose dogs where those? they where to cute :3
That was hilarious!
Haha, yea, that mascot gets me everytime. The dogs lived at the "hotel" we stayed at. -E
That old man @20:44 killing it at that game
Hahaha, for real. -E
You guys truly found a diamond in the rough.
+M Romero Hahah.
Have you guys ever booked through airbnb? You can find some cheap but really nice places on there~
+nano-mugen Yep! -E
Was there air con in these rooms? I stayed in a place exactly like this in Yokohama.
I don't remember, to be honest. -E
Wow that is super super cheap I never knew a place that cheap existed unless it's a capsule !!! Also the that place with the bulldog sauce looked good!!!! Also love the lights of city Osaka!!! Especially remember angry man!!!!!! Ha!!!!!!!😂
+astroboy3507 Haha, angry man is awesome! -E
IIRC Osaka isn't very far from Takarazuka, I hope you might have been able to visit the Tezuka Osmau museum on a side trip.
I'd love to see you make a video there!
OK, yellow sign across the street is written in katakana. I recognize at least TWO of the 'letters', one of which is the same in haragona.
Oh, a non-capsule, capsule hotel! (I saw the capsule hotel on "Only in Japan". Don't know if you've ever been in one though.)
Bilican looks like a manga Buddha.
I knew Tokyo has a subway, didn't know Osaka did. Wonder if it gets as crowded in rush hour.
+Kenneth Scharf Takarazuka is a really nice city and curiously famous for a theatre troupe with only females in it who play both men and women parts! Very androgynous and cool :)
Also, only very rural areas in Japan don't get at least regional trains, and subways are a lot more common than you'd think (Kyoto, Kobe, Nagoya, Sapporo, Sendai, Fukuoka...) ! Osaka is the second largest city in Japan with around 20 million inhabitants after all ;)
+Kenneth Scharf Basically every city in Japan has a subway system. There are exceptions, but few. Takarazuka sounds like a good reason to return to the Osaka area! -E
cool vido you two Osaka looks like a cool part inJapan
+Thunder Alf Reactions It really is! -E
nice I will watch the new Philippines video you posted good job at least japan is near philippines
I love you guys and i like your videos ❤️😇
+mansoor mn Thanks!! -E
I thought by your description of a generally poor, mostly elderly area that you were talking about where I stayed in december, Shin-Imamiya, but nope. Then at 23 minutes you goto that area of all those strange food stores with the tower and thats right next to where I stayed :D The area is pretty depressing, everyones old and basically homeless.. Although we did have an elderly man come upto my friend and i and just start a conversation and being all happy and offered to buy us coffee so we can talk more (being my first day in japan, i was kinda freaked out by the kindness, stupidly, and declined) Interesting, and fun area!
+Kurt Miller Haha, yea, it's a really unique part of Japan, that's for sure! -E
you can hear Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day music playing in the background on 21:44....I'm sad now
What camera are you using ? :)
+TOLIKXTOLIK Sony DSC-HX90V
Nice, bringing the 1930s back with smartball.
+McSSJust Is this a thing you've seen outside of Japan? -E
大阪に来てたのですか?確かその日は天気はよくなかったですね❣️
最初の大阪弁の挨拶は最高に良かった。めっちゃgoood‼️
Where in Osaka was the first scene filmed? (place with the cup ramen machine)
+bighandsjohn I think its the Nishinari area. -E
Ah damn. I didn't know ya guys were at Osaka
I've actually stayed at the Marriott Hotel in Osaka at the 52nd floor for 3 days. It was a bit more pricey then the hotel you stayed at, haha :p
+Sanna Aase Haha, probably slightly nicer too! -E
cool channel i just subbed, you guys been to Philippines yet?
+Nomadic In The Philippines Yea, actually we were there last December. Once a month we post a new video about our time there, three episodes are out and in a week or so part 4 should be up. Here's the playlist! ruclips.net/p/PLrvJJu2Pt1jhUHjgwxC_59Ug9d4HjMhra
Kyde and Eric
very cool, i notice you do really long videos too. i just started testing it out. do you find the longer videos help your channel more then small ones?
+Nomadic In The Philippines We just prefer to make longer videos as it's what we'd personally prefer to watch. Probably not good for our channel though. -E
Kyde and Eric
really? I just tried some big video and they are now the most profitable and most watch times. I also follow a couple in Nepal who made a documentary film and it really busted there channel too. I think daily vlogging helps lots too. cheers
Woohoo! We got our visas, so we are just over two months away from our trip to Japan!
Nice! Enjoy your visit! -E
@@kydeanderic Thankyou! It's been three years in the planning. We're going for a month (with three days in Hong Kong for starters) and will be visiting Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima, Kusatsu, Hakodate, Sapporo, Wakkanai, Kushiro (where I spent some time 14 years ago), Sendai, and Tokyo. It's something of a deferred honeymoon, so we're making it worthwhile.
Very cool! Hokkaido is going to be really wintery when you are there, stay warm! -E
also the dogs at the end were the best part. I want moar
+jutting Poopbutt HAha, need to start a dog channel. -E
"what are you in for??" good one Kyde.... hahaha
I saw you guys in Shibuya today!
+oshimakuninjapan Should have said hi! -E
+Kyde and Eric I ONLY LURK IN THE SHADOWS AND SERVE ONE LORD AND HIS NAME IS ZUHL...no just kidding but I think it was the intersection from the Muji side and I was crossing from Tower Records side. Then I saw your height and was like, "it's them..." I won't lie. I kinda got star struck. Like I saw Bruce Willis and Demi Moore. But maybe I'll run into you guys again in the future!
+oshimakuninjapan Hahahha.
Who was playing work by Rihanna in the background of the kushi katsu place?? Didn't think they bump her music out there
Omg! I want one if those blue bears!!!!!!
+Skye True-Hagenstein Can you afford all the rainbows and clouds he needs to eat?! -E
ありえへん! Do you get your own private shower time at hotel diamond or is it japanese style bath? We have been thinking about traveling to osaka and staying at one of the cheap hotels but I want my private shower and the booking sites are not very clear about that.
+Luciana Voutilainen (Ranchani) Women have private shower areas, but men do not. -E
lol was funny while u was eating hearing Rihanna singing in the background on the radio another great video was so cute seeing the poodle at the hotel you stayed at I have 2 my self so I go crazy when I see others
+natalie morgan Haha, you'd be in heaven here, there are poodles everywhere! -E
ケイディ、エリック待ってました。いつでもとっても楽しみにしています。1ファンより。
+nowgaku ありがとう!-E
Dead blowfish was an okay character, but I mean I've always been a huge fan of angry man's work I think he's just the best 36:06
+closetwarrior Haha
That room was quite shady ! Did you guys make it disease free? :P
+Francisco Araújo Yea, I think so! -E
Was the cheap hotel also in Tennoji?
I believe it was in Abeno-ku. -E
