Osaka is 2nd-largest and important city in Japan, also old capital (AD652) as well as Nara and Kyoto. Osaka has a lot of interesting Japanese original cultures. Core Of Japanese culture is in Kansai resion ( Osaka and Kyoto, Nara, Kobe, Himeji, Awaji Island, Lake Biwa, Wakayama, Mie, Fukui, Tokushima etc). Tokyo is City of Companies and Buildings. If You want to meet real Japan, I recommend you to visit Kansai.
I love Osaka. When I was visiting, a nice elder woman voluntarily helped me find the right bus stop even though she only spoke a little bit of english. She even walked me to it. 💙
@Beachball Chronicles I only mentioned Osaka because it's mentioned in the video. My overall 3 day experience in Japan has been great and I can't wait to return!
Food, culture, architecture, politeness, tradition, history, Zen, spirituality, scenic scenery, lighting & clean - did I mention the food? LOLZ Incredible. Need to go anytime soon. Thanks!
I am from India, seriously planning to Visit Japan in next couple of years, Japan is one of my obsessions that I hold very dear and proudly! I don't want to visit with any travel agency or professional tour planner groups, I would like to visit independently, I am just a bit worried about the communication challenges that I might face especially in the rural countrysides (One of my priorities), but that's absolutely fine!
I did when it was my first time in 2014. Universal studios japan. Osaka castle. Hopefully when the world reopens up again I would like to go straight to japan once more. 🇯🇵
I was lucky enough to celebrate New Year 2020, in Japan. Osaka & Kyoto. 2 weeks is just too short. I hope we all can visit Japan soon, my favourite place on earth. Stay safe everyone!! 😋🙏🏻
Hi Expedia! I really appreciate the time and effort you put into making travel guides for places all around the world! Here are some suggestions if you’re looking for some places in Japan to look at: Hokkaido Sendai Hiroshima Thanks so much for putting these guides!
Came here because I miss japan. Visited a couple of times in the past and I can confidently say osaka is my number one go to, a close second will be Kyoto.
Finally Expedia completes the trinity of Japan travel guides: Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka. I should be in Japan today to see these three wonderful cities just before the Olympics got underway. Darn you COVID-19! 😤
Oh, come on! I had to delay my annual trip to Japan due to COVID-19, and here you're teasing me with the best food in the world. My favorite city - Osaka. Been all over it, and you can get to Kobe, Kyoto, Uji, Himeji, Nagoya, Nara within an hour. It's a great place to take a break on your way to the south Japan. Not so overly crowded with tourists like Kyoto.
Stay away from Japan. Radioactive contamination problem is still ongoing problem in Japan. Almost 18,000 Japanese people died with cancer or leukemia caused by radioactive contamination from Fukushima. Stop eating radioactive contaminated food and water. Otherwise, you're going to get cancer, leukemia or infertility. Japan WAS good country but it's severely contaminated by radiation since Fukushima earthquake happened in 2011. Additionally Japanese government is trying to hide the truth about radioactive contamination. However, People have the right to know the truth and what's going on really in Japan.

Tokyo is a different kind of beast though, I assure you, you would enjoy both Tokyo and Osaka immensely for different kinds of travel experiences.
