Luke, I'd think a pusher "extension" (a pin or dowel in the revolver tubes) hurricane cylinder could be djinned up that would let the hurricane fire half legths. The pusher in the blaster would make contact with the extension and slide it forward in the dart tube, thus pushing the actual dart forward and into the flywheels. Place the extension in "tracks" so it'll stop at the edge of the dart tube and not jam the flywheels. You'd need to load the cylinder clip from the front, though, not the rear.
Am I making sense. It's a similar concept to a firing pin in modern revolvers: the hammer doesn't have the firing pin but is flat-faced, but strikes the rear face of the firing pin, driving the pin into the primer.
So here, the pusher is conceptually the hammer, and the extension in the cylinder (you'd need one for each cylinder, so this wouldn't be an adapter that lets you use half lengths in current hurricane clips) is like the firing pin.

Nice video! I think I may pick one up and do some cosmetic changes. Or if you know of a big iron that shoots short darts I might buy or make one myself.
