what he described as bullying didnt sound bad at all... when i was in school my mom got called slut and whore for being a single mom, got bullyed and beat up for being poor and wearing the same clothes, got made fun of because i had glasses and they would break them knowing i couldnt afford new ones then more more fun of me for not being able to read. Honestly just sounds like he was soft and refused to try to get help.

@@respecthalo2963 oh wooooow bro you're so cool and tough, consider that children are still susceptible to even milder forms of bullying, that he most likely didn't share everything that he had to sit through, that he was still being dragged through the hellscape of being famous and recognized everywhere he went, and that not everyone is as tough or cool as you.

For anyone wondering what happened to Julianna Rose Mauriello (Stephanie from Lazy Town) since I don't think it was actually covered in the video despite her being in the thumbnail- Julianna felt she grew too old to be Stephanie so quit the show, especially since she was 4 years older than the character to start with anyway. She then toured the UK for a while, teaching children the importance of being healthy and active. After travelling back to the US she realised "the life of lights" wasn't for her, so she quit acting and went to college and university where she'd eventually get a masters degree. She is now an Occupational Therapist and is doing really well for herself.

Fame can corrupt more than just the actor. It can turn parents of child actors into harsh opportunists, like Jennette McCurdy’s mother, and considering that times back in those days were different, it makes sense why people were cool with it back then. For all we know, she probably said no until they psychologically manipulated her into taking them or blow this one shot and forever be a relic of forgotten history. Back then and even now, people would do anything for fame, and I’m not just talking about the actors.

Grooming is when someone builds a relationship, trust and emotional connection with a child or young person so they can manipulate, exploit and abuse them.
She was 16 and quite obviously exploited and manipulated. At 16 that's still a child. Imagine being that young and being told 'take these pills and all your dreams will come true'. Yes her parents should have protected her but when you get a doctor to come around and say 'these will help her and you all will be super rich' that's manipulation. Not everyone is lucky enough to have good protective parents and even those who do aren't immune to trickery and manipulation.

Not just because of his decline and drug addiction, but because even to this day, people continue to interview him and put him in front of cameras knowing that he’s gonna show up high, so that people can see him act crazy. They’re creating “entertainment” from this man’s suffering. As a former meth addict, I know how near-impossible it is to get off that evil substance. The industry is terrible. If you want good insight to how bad it was, just with Nickelodeon alone, read I'm Glad My Mom Died. Jennette McCurdy is an excellent writer and her story alone is heartbreaking but also so many other nick stars have come out and told similar stories. Hell the Victorious cast was constantly wasted, and that was when they were underage. I will always love the shows that made my childhood but I"m more upset that there isn't enough being done to protect child stars so that they don't have to go through this, because it's not their fault that they turn out the way they do, and then all we do is fail them as children and mock them as adults.

Judy Garland's life was literally just a constant punch directly in the stomach for her. The three men who played the tin man, the lion and the scarecrow bullied her on set because they were apparently jealous of her having the lead role (imagine grown men bullying a little girl - pathetic beyond the pale) and by the time she was a young woman in her 20s her mental health was already completely screwed up because of all the drugs they constantly fed her since she was a child so she wouldn't need to sleep and eat like a regular human being, all with the plan to make as much money as possible out of her then they discarded her like an old tissue.
Then she dies alone, far from home. It's brutally sad and I hope she's someplace now where she is safe and happy in the great beyond.

Honestly I blame George Lucas. It was a terrible script first of all, and this poor kid was selected to be young Anakin/Darth Vader with basically zero acting experience whatsoever. If you watch some of the casting tapes, there were other kids competing for the role and one of them in particular was just a natural at it but George was like "Well, some people test well but don't necessarily translate to performing well" -- Jake Lloyd did none of those things. Then his family pimped him out to voice act in video games as well, squeezing as much out of the situation as possible. Of course, everyone for the most part hated Episode 1 and the only character people hated more in it was Jar Jar Binks, as far as being annoying and all. I think they set the kid up for failure, then you have an entire population of disappointed fans looking for anyone and anything to blame and suddenly you find out this kid actor is suddenly your classmate. If I had a nickel for every time someone most likely mockingly asked him "Are you an angel?" I'd probably be a multi-millionaire by now.

People thought Kelly Marie Tran (Rose Tico) and Ahmed Best (Jar Jar Binks) had it bad. But Jake Lloyd had it worse... much worse.

@@nutmatical1042 She was criticized for her poor voice acting. A minority went the extra mile and went for her ethnicity, which she of course took advantage of.

So here's an update for Drake Bell. He's innocent. You see on the Ultimate Drake Bell RUclips channel there are videos where Drake tells his side of the story. Drake said he never did anything sexual or harmful to the girl and when Drake found out she was 15 he blocked her. But I like to think when she found out Drake was married at the time and had a son she wanted to get back at him and it caused her to accuse him of doing such questionable things. Drake then said if he didn't tell them his side of the story and plea guilty he wouldn't have been able to see his son Jeremy. He even said there false articles claiming he did things like sexual assault when in reality he did no such thing. Even if he did he wouldn't have been able to see his son and be sent to jail. He's currently making music on his channel and releasing a new album. Let's just hope that Drake is doing alright and maybe he'll get his life back on track

I had no idea Judy Garland's life ended up like that. That was painful and sad to watch. Hollywood is especially brutal to children.

I never imagined Judy garland suffered like that and was so mistreated in Hollywood. Truly heartbreaking. I love the Wizard of Oz movie since watching it as a kid in Nigeria in the 2000s but never imagined how bad it was for her. God rest her soul.

    - You forgot to mention that the damage and trauma and harm that the studio did to Judy Garland didn't even end with her, it carried over to her children. Liza Minelli got so messed up from losing her mother to drugs that she ended up on them herself to the point that even _Andy Warhol_ took note. 🤦
    - It's always bad when child-actors get messed up by Hollywood who uses them and throws them away. It's also heart-breaking for the fans who _want_ them to be okay because they've developed parasocial relationships with them.
