Watching RUclips videos knocked 9 strokes off my game, just have to keep it to a couple people you trust in.
Definitely agree. It can be a very useful tool. Sometimes if you’re new though, it’s hard to know which videos are applicable to you specifically. But I always recommend new players start with the fundamentals. You can’t go wrong starting with the fundamentals.
The problem with hitting lots of balls without instruction is that bad habits get ingrained. Golfers can learn to get around the course with some terrible technique (I’m thinking of myself) and breaking bad habits is incredibly difficult.
Bad habits are just as easy to ingrain as good habits, though. When you get the proper instruction for you, and you commit to the good habits, they will settle in.
It's easy for him to say don't watch youtube because coaches out there would love to work with him but we are seeking free info from youtube. l left the game back in 2008 and back then all l knew was what l watched on the golf channel and read in golf magazines or VHS etc. l cleaned up my clubs last month and started hitting balls so l am ready to go for a round. l am not gonna play until l think l am ready l don't wanna have a long day at the course. Well, l have watched so many youtube videos and l am so happy there are so many instructions because l know more about the golf swing than l did back then and l wish l had all these infos back then. This is that we have to find what's best for us and follow it because look, look at the PGA do they all swing the same? NO! No different than us so find the FREE info that works best for you and follow it don't try to swing like the pros because you are not.
You are correct, but when there is an abundance of free information, it can frustrate and overwhelm new players. You can know all the ins and outs of the golf swing, but it is still a skill based game.
If you find a tip you think would help, ONE NOT FIVE, take it to the range and go to work.
One tip at a time is all you need!
I think Tiger Woods is totally wrong. It’s easy to say such nonsense when you had the benefit and were pampered by the world’s best coaches: Como, Chaney, Foley, Harmond and surrounded by physical, mental trainers and I don’t know who else.
I can’t afford a coach - barely afford a lesson on occasion. There is a lot of bad stuff on RUclips and you have to recognize that, but RUclips is the poor man’s coach and it has served me well.

I'm glad it's served you well. It's been good to me too. I fixed my dishwasher with RUclips!
