Interesting Mike that the less loft on the iron, the more it hooks! My swing is on an in to out basis and I try to get a semi-closed club face going back and coming through. Also interesting that the swing path and an open/closed club face will predetermine the type of shot produced. Since I swing in to out, I am always working on the toe of the club passing the heal prior to impact. A very interesting video Mike! :-)
I find on the shorter irons such as 8 and down that I get a much straighter ball flight or slight draw when I swing on a slightly more vertical swing plane. What really effects my accuracy is not clearing my hips with a good weight shift.
Ball flight is always going to appear straighter with the shorter clubs even with similar data due to the loft and length. Good weight shift is so important when it comes to angle of attack and making solid contact. Glad you found something that works for you. Thank you for watching.
