on the K3... After focus locks on and is confirmed, the six sided icon in the view finder disappears as soon as you release the back button.... this is annoying and should be fixed by Ricoh.
The confirmation icon should remain visible until the back button is pressed again... no?

I've always used back button to engage AF. Just be aware that in the setting showed here, when you do not keep that back button pressed while you shoot , the AF point will not be recorded in the image. Not a big issue but ... when editing you will not be able to recall that point.

The arrival of my k3 iii is imminent 😁 I believe there are so many options in the menu system. If you want a lot of views I think explaining the menu and what the various new af modes do will he very popular!

What about using both in AFC which is what I do with my K3-11 along with TAV for bird photography
