I’m enjoying the progress. Your video production is coming along nicely, too. They’re easy to follow and we’ll edited. Cheers.

Build /buy two tall shelf's behind the car. So many parts you will need to go thru even as you do the shell. Cleaning and spray can spraying them to perfection.
RUclips has videos of cleaning the switches on the steering column .
I highly recommend the HEAD LIGHT relay up grade as it stops melted wires and fuse boxes.

Yes I have some shelving, just need to put it up! I want to go through and catalog all the parts, record what needs replacing and what can be restored and reused. Start ordering parts that need to be replaced and restoring reusable ones. Thanks for the tip on the relay upgrade! I’ll look into it

Liked the use of the wire.
Not sure if many people remove the mustache bar - chassis bolts. Give the area around them some anti rust treatment and prime-paint the area.

Cheers got the idea from the trusty “how to restore your z car” book. I will be getting the underbody blasted so don’t want the bolts to get sand blasted, so need to try and get them out! Just got a new socket set so will try

Rear suspension hanger bolts wind up. There is a hex head at the top. Undo them as you would a bolt.

Do not try and do all mods as you build.
Rebuild it to stock using all the parts that can be reused.
Replace consumables as you go worn out bits.
But hold of any mods till it's back together and driving ,treating mods like week end projects.
That is where time and money escapes most people.
It's far cheaper and faster to rebuild it completely stock.
Hell it's even great looking and very fun to drive EVEN in Stock form it's far from boring, FAR from boring.
After is a car running and driving you can do mods later.
That's the difference be tween a smooth quick restoration and a long drawn out build.

Thanks for the advice! Yeah that’s my plan, unfortunately the car was not in good condition at all, it hadn’t been looked after in the slightest. So not many parts are reusable at all, a lot of the fixings have been swapped for incorrect ones or are damaged beyond reuse, so a lot will be replaced. Even the engine is not reusable, hence I’m going straight for a stroker L28. Suspension was butchered by the previous owner putting in crappy coil overs, so I can’t reuse those either, so I’m putting proper new coil overs in. So a lot will be straight modified as to restore to stock would cost just as much!

This is great advice. I was just looking at that on my 510. I am fixing the front end only to put back in the old stuff, even though I have coil-overs I need to sort other things first.
