Don't even need to be in uber peak physical fitness. Just not being a fat slob or severely underweight helps. My main thing is can you run at least a mile with a rucksack on your back without collapsing? Can you drag a deadweight like a 175pound human being more than 2 meters before collapsing? If so then you're in better shape than most... it's an "apocalypse" scenario, not Afghanistan or Iraq. Having 80 pounds of gear on your back and carrying 1000 rounds will get you dead pretty quick in most situations... That guy walking around in fatigues with an AR on each shoulder, 2k rounds and a bag with everything barring the kitchen sink is dead within a week tops. The guy who runs into every gun fight thinking he'll do a rambo... he's dead within a week tops. Could lose someone a hundred yards into the forested area around houses if you make it to the tree line which is usually between 25-100 yards from most people houses unless they are farmers, gun works well out to 300 yards on a 8 inch plate. Not clearing more trees and moving more dirt to try further than that.

I feel like this is a myth. We all assume that when the apocalypse pops off, everyone’s going to start killing each other and there will be dead bodies and gear just laying everywhere in the streets. I guarantee that anything that is in public view will get snatched up pretty fast and vanish into thin air. Chances are weapons, ammo and every other form of supply will become very scarce. Think of it like the beginning weeks of the Covid pandemic X 500. Not trying to invalidate your point about physical training and preparation, but I don’t assume anything will be available. For a muzzle device that is not a suppressor, I would recommend Precision Armament's chambered AFAB is excellent, especially on 16+ barrels. It acts as a half-brake, half-comp, and hides flash pretty well all at the same time (a little spendy though).

My grandpa passed away this last November and he was a WWII Navy vet in the south pacific, Korean war vet, worked for Boeing as an engineer for 30 years after the wars going to the middle east and other countries frequently. He was in the hospital/rehab after breaking a hip 2 years ago and one of the nurses was talking to him about all the countries he's been to and she asked him which one was his favorite. He told her, "Right here. This is my favorite." Most people have no idea how blessed we are in this country.
Good story. Thank you
As a balkaner, yes, life for you 21st century westerners is overly easy, there is no fufillment, that's why your suicide rate is so high
@@lambsauce5312 I'd be curious to know what the suicide rate for wherever you live is compared to the USA.

@@pmedic523 I mean, I do believe something similar among those lines but, it's more about the advance of man, slowly, we are becoming useless, life will have no meaning, no purpose, just a waste of space, sure it will be convenient with robots doing all the work and everyone getting enough money to feed 30 people over a lifetime in a month, but that will remove the risks, remove the hardship, the struggle, it will make life unfulfilling, feel like nothing, make you wish for even eternal suffering over the purgatory that is life itself (or at least is going to become)

My suggestion for AR maintenance is but several oops spring kits, and a couple lower replacement parts kits, because springs WILL ALWAYS eventually wear out! No matter what! Also anyone can shoot it accurately. It was passed down to me with a Marlin 440A branded Japanese made 4x32mm scope and it is insanely clear compared to a lot of newer scopes I have. WASR 10 because I don't have tactical checking account, with the few extra parts an ak needs to run forever (springs, extra firing pin) 3 x prism scope with etched reticle from primary arms, a streamlight and a sling. Good enough, it works for me where I live, no open ground unless you are in a farmers field. Could lose someone a hundred yards into the forested area around houses if you make it to the tree line which is usually between 25-100 yards from most people houses unless they are farmers, gun works well out to 300 yards on a 8 inch plate. I feel like this is a myth. We all assume that when the apocalypse pops off, everyone’s going to start killing each other and there will be dead bodies and gear just laying everywhere in the streets.
