Anyone checking this out as of writing this, the ATF went after Q and sent a cease and desist on production and sales of the Honey Badger over the brace, now considering it a SBR instead of a AR pistol and not giving them a reason or specs so they could meet the new requirements. They have a link on their site of who you can contact to bring attention to the issue and help them get it cleared up.

As I understand the loss of velocity at longer ranges (400-500 yrds). The 300BO will and does hit at those ranges. Even with a 10.5 in barrel. It also maintains better energy at those ranges than the 65g .556. Love the videos and great information. Keep up the good work.

The latter is actually the sole reason for NATO adoption. The MP5SD hasn't been produced for years, and H&K is slowly phasing out support for it, so everyone is switching subsonic platforms. Blackout pretty much is the perfect solution unless you require handgun calibers (such as countries with rifle caliber restrictions for LE).

The 300 black rounds casing is almost the same size as the bullet , if your going to use an AR for home defense , 300 BLK is the round to use because it’s subsonic , low recoil, but deadly as ever , bullets huge.
Great review, I always wondered how the honey badger works with the 300 blackout, and it's cool to know that there are a variety of versions from suppressed to unsuppressed.
The forward assist is good, because it gives you another option. Incase of bolt drag from getting dirty in the field, or from improperly charging the weapon. You can give it a little bump (assist) to get it going. Instead of only being able to pull the charging handle to clear the round.
My first time shooting my issued m4 at brm1 was a malfunction. Keep the forward assists people! You don’t have a reciprocating charging handle to use as an assist on an ar15.
Took delivery of my new Sugar Weasel, your guidance helped-greatly. I've already-upgraded most of the generic-clone parts. Though the trigger is better than many well-known brands. surprisingly there is less bolt-slap than the more expensive alternative.

One thing that I want to talk about with Q is their cans. First of all, I absolutely am qualified to talk about this as I’m a welding engineer and I’m discussing their welds, particularly their titanium welds. If you check out their Instagram, you can see pictures of their cans before they’re coated. The cans look beautiful, all kinds of blue and purple in the welds, but that is big bad when it comes to titanium welds. Anything darker than roughly the color of straw or hay with be a significantly more brittle weld, which can lead to cracking under hard use or impact. The things that can cause this color could be either too much heat input in the welding process, or not welding in the proper environment (a fully purged box that get rid of all atmospheric contamination). I can’t speak to how the cans sound, but there is one mans opinion on the structural integrity of Q cans. Have a great day my fellow Lugers
Kevin has said its not an issue because its not like this is an aerospace application. Out of spec welds being considered "good enough" is indicative of other problems in my book. All those welds should be rejected.

I’m a lefty too. I run my long guns right handed. When I’ve tried switching over everything just feels weird. I shoot pistols left handed though because of my eye dominance.
@Jonathan Spier I had some odd eye alignment issues when I was a kid so I had to train that reflex manually. I eventually found out that my true dominance was in my left eye which is convenient since I'm left handed, but I can switch my perspective back and forth it just takes a bit of concentration to make the switch. With long guns it seems that the bigger factor for me is muscle memory so I keep on shooting righty with my rifle and shotgun. It actually makes transitioning to my pistol easier since the rifle drops to my right and I free up my left hand first any ways.
Invidious Ignoramus is just a different bolt, which you can buy easily also. Everything else is the same, just match up your gas block size. If you want to be anal about it you van also get a 458 socom specific upper but it’s not necessary
Forward assist is good when you go deer hunting. You get to your stand. Slowly insert a round and use the foward assist to chamber a round. Other then that its louder then hell chambering a round.
Eugene Stoner didn't like the forward assist or believe that they were necessary. Where the forward assist is handy is if you do a.controlled or slow load a round, then push the assist to seat the round, it's much more quiet.
Greatest thing I read in a flightline bathroom while being stationed at Osan, "Don't sweat the petty stuff, instead pet the sweaty stuff." lol military bathrooms are just like the comments section...lawless and unforgiving lol

I live in NH and am a member at the range that Q also does some of their testing. They let me shoot two mags through a Honey Badger and it was very quiet. Much more quiet than my Mark 23 with a Sig SRD45.
FiveTwoSevenTHR , yeah the .45 is not as quiet as people think. I have 6 silencers in 5 calibers and the 9mm and 300BLK (and obviously the.22LR but that’s doesn’t count!) are significantly quieter than the .45’s.

I have a Sugar Weasel and love it - decided on it after reviewing both weapons and deciding that the Badger was awesome, but not worth the extra coin. I don't see any of the organizations you mentioned in the links and I didn't know if that was intentional. If I'm missing, I apologize...figured I'd comment on it, as I agree that the best firearm investment is normally made in the tool behind the stock of the gun.

The forward assist is good, because it gives you another option. Incase of bolt drag from getting dirty in the field, or from improperly charging the weapon. You can give it a little bump (assist) to get it going. Instead of only being able to pull the charging handle to clear the round.

One thing that I want to talk about with Q is their cans. First of all, I absolutely am qualified to talk about this as I’m a welding engineer and I’m discussing their welds, particularly their titanium welds. If you check out their Instagram, you can see pictures of their cans before they’re coated. The cans look beautiful, all kinds of blue and purple in the welds, but that is big bad when it comes to titanium welds. Anything darker than roughly the color of straw or hay with be a significantly more brittle weld, which can lead to cracking under hard use or impact. The things that can cause this color could be either too much heat input in the welding process, or not welding in the proper environment (a fully purged box that get rid of all atmospheric contamination). I can’t speak to how the cans sound, but there is one mans opinion on the structural integrity of Q cans. Have a great day my fellow Lugers
Kevin has said its not an issue because its not like this is an aerospace application. Out of spec welds being considered "good enough" is indicative of other problems in my book. All those welds should be rejected.

Tap the forward assist is a step in clearing a malfunction... but everybody is not military trained. Makes perfect sense to some to have a forward assist.
I’m a lefty too. I run my long guns right handed. When I’ve tried switching over everything just feels weird. I shoot pistols left handed though because of my eye dominance.

@Jonathan Spier I had some odd eye alignment issues when I was a kid so I had to train that reflex manually. I eventually found out that my true dominance was in my left eye which is convenient since I'm left handed, but I can switch my perspective back and forth it just takes a bit of concentration to make the switch. With long guns it seems that the bigger factor for me is muscle memory so I keep on shooting righty with my rifle and shotgun. It actually makes transitioning to my pistol easier since the rifle drops to my right and I free up my left hand first any ways.
I’m waiting for Q’s next offering. It’s a 4” barrel AR pistol chambered in .458 socom and its called the Tangy Beaver.

Invidious Ignoramus is just a different bolt, which you can buy easily also. Everything else is the same, just match up your gas block size. If you want to be anal about it you van also get a 458 socom specific upper but it’s not necessary
Forward assist is good when you go deer hunting. You get to your stand. Slowly insert a round and use the foward assist to chamber a round. Other then that its louder then hell chambering a round.
The infamous firearm NOT featured in MW2 2022 since it has a buffer tube and the Chimera does not.

Eugene Stoner didn't like the forward assist or believe that they were necessary.
Where the forward assist is handy is if you do a.controlled or slow load a round, then push the assist to seat the round, it's much more quiet.

I live in NH and am a member at the range that Q also does some of their testing. They let me shoot two mags through a Honey Badger and it was very quiet. Much more quiet than my Mark 23 with a Sig SRD45.
FiveTwoSevenTHR , yeah the .45 is not as quiet as people think. I have 6 silencers in 5 calibers and the 9mm and 300BLK (and obviously the.22LR but that’s doesn’t count!) are significantly quieter than the .45’s.

I have a Sugar Weasel and love it - decided on it after reviewing both weapons and deciding that the Badger was awesome, but not worth the extra coin. Subscribing, but wanted to leave a remark that I appreciate your comments.
Finally - you spent some awesome time at the end talking about training. I don't see any of the organizations you mentioned in the links and I didn't know if that was intentional. If I'm missing, I apologize...figured I'd comment on it, as I agree that the best firearm investment is normally made in the tool behind the stock of the gun.
