The MC9 is a much better shooting gun than the 43X, hands down. The M&P Shield & Shield Plus and the Taurus GX4 are also much nicer to shoot. I sold my 43X and kept the rest. Hopefully you're not a fanboy and give us your honest thoughts when comparing the two. I rank them MC9, Shield & Plus, GX4 then the 43X.
I have carried my 43x for a few years and shoot it quite well. Better than a 365 that I picked up. I’ve been considering getting giving this a consideration. I’d like to see just a little more than the 10+1 I have now but don’t want to go get shield mags either.
I haven't shot the 43X yet, but I did shoot the MC9 alongside the 48 and a few others and was surprised that the Canik didn't seem anywhere near as snappy as the P365-9mm (although the Shield Plus did shoot slightly better IMO). I'm torn between the MC9, Shield Plus and S&W CSX for a true micro-compact 9mm for carry. I will say that the CSX does (for me) shoot quite well for its size and is easy to manipulate out of the box, whereas the MC9 and Shield Plus both have much stiffer slides starting off. Hopefully the Canik just needs to be broken in similar to the Plus. Thanks for doing this comparison.
Yea the slide is pretty stiff on that MC9! I also just found that the mag at times doesn't fully eject when full of ammo. Nevertheless it's still a great gun. I am going to be putting up more comparison videos for it soon! Appreciate the feedback 👍🏽
I love the look and idea of the CSX , although I do wish it was DA/SA instead of SA only. I’ve also seen reviews where they talk about slide bite. Hopefully they make a new generation where they make subtle improvements that make a big difference, because otherwise it seems really cool
I also own both of these. I carry the glock. The weight and full grip is what is what swayed me to pick that one weight being the bigger selling point. That being said I like the canik more if I could only have one I would probably take the canik. It feels really well made solid it’s probably the extra weight and I enjoy shooting it more I like the trigger more I can live with tue king take up cause to my hands my fingers the glock trigger feels sharpe and almost hurts my finger. You can’t go wrong with either pistol there both nice guns.or own them both it’s a free country piss off the liberals and own lots of guns.
That’s the first time I’ve ever seen a Canik trigger do that. You should seriously think about sending it back and getting a new one! I have four Canik’s, not a single one of their triggers have ever done that. Not one.
I have the MC9, Shield Plus and Hellcat. Plus is my EDC but will be carrying the Canik as well. Not a fan of the Hellcat because of trigger but my Apex will be in Monday so hoping that changes things. It's my wife's favorite though. Never shot the 43x. The MC9 shoots great and the trigger is nice and I am putting the mecanik mo1. Can't wait to get more rounds down range .. good review
Thanks for comparing these and giving your honest opinion. I have a friend with 2 Caniks and he swears by the triggers . I have yet to try them out. I came here specifically looking for someone to have compared the 43X and this new Canik, I’m not into red dot optics and stuff so its more about the sights, feel in hand and trigger. I have heard so much about Canik triggers its sort of making me feel like…ok really??? The same way everyone raved about the flat trigger with the Sig P365…meanwhile I hated it. So the bandwagons are very real and ppl don’t even know when they hop on them. It’s like the car guys who buy a Cold Air Intake and then “swear” the car is faster…NO BRUH…5HP isn’t gonna do ish to yr 0 to 60 time. It’s the first person online I’ve seen to be like ehh the trigger wasn’t all that. SO I hope people aren’t going to accuse you of now being a Glock “fan boy” ..anyone that does should also ask themselves if they are just a hater…Cuz like Canik or Sig. Glocks are good ass guns. Anyways thanks for this comparison
Definitely man! Appreciate the support 💯 Canik triggers are honestly really great I'm not gonna lie. When I first bought the MC9 it wasn't what the rest of the Caniks are. To be fair it is more of a carry gun vs a competition gun. After having almost 1,000 rounds thru the MC9 I will say I was wrong tho. When you dry fire the MC9 it's not that great. But during actual shooting it does feel better than the 43x. That being said I've had issues with my MC9 and realize the term "glock reliability" is a thing lol I get what you mean about the sig flat trigger lol it was ok but I hated the plastic mush feel to it
@@S.0.G ..Yes Glocks just shoot, which is what you want at the end of the day. Honestly I do not like the P365 trigger at all that much is trash but I cant be the modular super editable compatibility with the entire 365 platform but and its been reliable also. The size cant be beat in my opinion its hands down the most comfortable non intrusive carry gun to me. Having said that I did have to modify it into what it should have been from Sig. added +2 maggutz mod so it holds 14 reliably in the mag, Swap the grip to a wilson combat grip and added a hogue grip onto that. TruGlo day/night sights which are 100x better and more visible in day and night than stock sig. So now I love it...Still hate the trigger tho. But it shoots anything I put in it. its a post P365 issues buy tho (2021 purchase)
You can put the rival trigger shoe into the mc9 which reduces the take-up and basically mimics the rival trigger in general. The trigger break itself is really the most important part for accuracy. The glock has more creep once you push against the actual wall before it fires so most people are going to disagree with you. I agree that the take-up sucks but the actual trigger break and reset are better. I recommend just going online and buying the rival trigger shoe. Basically all caniks have that false wall accept for the rival. The glock 43x was never the king of micro pistols by the way. The shield deserves that title and is probably the highest sold micro pistol ever created. The glock 43 is basically just a copy of the original shield so I don't think it deserves to have the title of king.
Oh definitely! Caniks break and reset are better. The take up is just horrible. Beat gun in my opinion they made was the SC then the Rival. Me crediting Glock as CCW king was based on most recent sales and hype honestly. The 43x has been the most sold in recent years and seems like everyone is trying to compete with them. I personally am not a fan of altering a ccw gun ESPECIALLY the trigger but I appreciate the info! Thanks for watching hopefully this video gives people a little understanding of where the new MC9 sits in the world of micros!
@@S.0.G Changing the trigger shoe doesn't change anything inside of the gun so it wouldn't reduce the reliability or anything. There's people on reddit that have already installed the flat faced trigger into the mc9.
@@Shenmue06 Not worried about the reliability. Worried about hurting my chances to win a self defense case if I ever have to use it. To explain the reason I made my gun "easier" or "quicker" to "shoot and kill" and win, scares me the way society sees things in todays world. I have a rival to have fun and will modify that to pieces but not on my carry gun lol that's why I've carried Glock. Reliability is my #1 when my life depends on it lol
@@S.0.G Yeah that's understandable. I have an apex trigger kit in my shield. It's basically perfect and better than any micro pistol trigger but I've always had that same fear in the back of my mind.
@@Shenmue06 Yea for sure having a Rival trigger in a CCW would scare the hell outta me lol but the fact that we these options is great! Anything is better than nothing lol
one youtuber modded that 18round mag and it fits the 43x and you dont have to switch the mag release to run s15 mags. that was a marketing scheme to take another 40$ on top of the mag.
Funny this video popped up because I just saw the Mete MC9 in person for the first time today. I’ve absolutely been looking forward to it. I didn’t get to shoot it but I did handle it and actually agree with you about the initial pull of the trigger. If you ride the wall after every reset it’s great, but yeah that initial feel/take up is a little odd. Curious how much you paid for it if you don’t mind my asking? It was $450 at the place I went, which seems high because I think the MSRP is $440 and I was assuming actual price would be $400 or less. But who knows, it did just come out (and again, I haven’t seen it anywhere else yet), so maybe the price will hopefully come down. All I know is the p365 and its many variants have gotten too expensive imho. My main hang up with the 43x is its lower capacity single-stack magazine, which, along with its grip angle, give the 43x more height, and that means more potential to print. And again, that’s despite the smaller capacity. Even so, my choice will likely come down to these two, the M&P Shield plus, or the Taurus GX4 TORO (and before anyone s**ts on me for the GX4 because it’s a Taurus, check its reviews and the awards it’s won). Thankfully I think it’d be hard to go wrong.
In todays world everything coming out is decent (for the most part lol) I paid above retail for this because I wanted to start comparison videos for others who don't want to gamble with their money if it can be invested better elsewhere. It is not worth paying above retail. $400 is a fair price especially for everything you get from Canik. I initially had the same concern as you did about the 43x being the tallest micro 9 with the least in capacity. I also thought to myself hmm carry less just to print more? But honestly (and another upload is coming on this) the 43x does not print like one would think. Not sure if it's the angle of the grip that makes it disappear easier or what but aside from it concealing well, it is so light that it's really comfortable to carry. I am not a Taurus fan just because of their history but I can appreciate how far they've come. The shield is really a good choice but I hate Smith & Wesson pistol designs idk why lol I'm really impressed in how the 43x carries. The mc9 also carries very very nice. Don't wanna give too much away from my next upload lol but will continue this comparison at the range and how they carry/conceal.
I'm seriously thinking about buying the Taurus GX4 XL this Tuesday. Sale at Scheels. $329. That is too good to not consider. Thanx for your input. I have a canik TP9sf. It has eaten everything. We live in great times as far as firearms
I paid $390 for my two tone MC9. I currently carry my Shield Plus and my GX4. Needing a good edc holster before carrying the MC9. I sold my 43X so that tells you where it compares and ranks in my book.
@S.O.G OH yes. It helps decrease accidental discharges. The false wall gets your attention . I guess it's to each their own, but I really like it for precision shots, and for anything else, simply drive the trigger back, and I don't even notice it. Ultra fast shooter with my 2021 production Canik Tp9sfx with the Holosun 407c x2, which is my edc aiwb and owb.
My personal opinion between these two is that the canik is an all around better gun BUT I'd wait to buy if possible so that you don't get stuck with any of the ones that have issues. The more people that have them in hand, the more people bring up the same issue I had lol great gun but reliability comes first for me lol
@@S.0.G same here, I’d rather my life be protected than have a stylish piece of garbage on my hip that may cause me too lose my most valuable possession (my life). Thank you for the input and I’ll definitely take that into consideration 🤙🏼.
Walther clone. Not a walther trigger. Walther doesn't make Canik or Canik parts but Canik used their blueprint and made it half the price. It's a win for me 🤷🏽♂️
At 11:10 when you displayed the Canik trigger I was turned off and away from buying the MC9. Luckily I have my METE 9 here and it has the same "fake wall" and break. After I realized that I am here to say to others - It may look bad on camera but that mushy trigger play followed by the fake wall just looks bad on camera. They rant and rave about the METE trigger. The MC9 trigger is getting praise also. Ill be going to the store to check out the MC9. Its that or the 43X. Or a 365.... of a PDP.... :)
I agree! After shooting it, I can say I was wrong about the trigger. Still not the typical Canik trigger but still better than anything out there in terms of micro compact!
Pls get the 43x and get a timney trigger or what I have the itts trigger by tyrant tbh the stock trigger was A1 and not needing to be changed but the itts made it even better dont even need a 3.5 ghost connector oh and btw just get the mos 43x its 50$ more and worth it I have a holosun 507k on it worth every dime
There are a lot of people who have never had issues with theirs. On the other hand there are also countless people who have had nothing but issues. I personally just choose not to find out when my life depends on it.
@@S.0.G Fair enough. Nothing wrong with that. I loved mine never had any issues. However i just ordered the Canik so i don’t think I’ll be using them for a while lol
@@vetisu_7719 Haha thats fair! Check out the second part of this video if you get a chance. I ran into a couple issues with my Canik but if it wasn't for that I would be willing to bet it's the best micro 9 out!
Or Canik isn't so short sighted to believe everyone will have the complete use of both hands in a confrontation. It's the same posers who whine about "it's a slide lock, not a slide release", then use it to allow the slide to slam shut on a empty chamber/mag!🤡
those are "target triggers" required for small striker fire guns or blow back guns to be imported into the USA. See ATF Form 4590 (5330.5). This will explain why the .380's aren't typically imported (glock 42 in manufacture in Georgia).
So it definitely needs to be broken in but I will agree with you that the trigger doesn't feel like all the other standard canik triggers. But it is true that these weren't made to the same spec bc of importation regulations. Which I didn't know until I bought mine. I'm going to be swapping some other triggers around to this gun to test this theory and confirm that it is true. If so you should be able to order just a standard canik trigger and a few parts and swap. And like some other people have mentioned you can put a Rival shoe on it.. just my thoughts. It's still better than a glock by far. I had both of these guns. And my 43x was broken in and I'm still saying the mc9 is better. And another small thing to add I can't imagine what world people would have to be in to buy a 43x and not run shield arms mags😂 put it in your reviews and preach it bc if you buy the 43x it's a package deal you gotta have the shield arms mags😂😂
Appreciate the input! Honestly yea, I'll be doing a couple more videos on these 2. I'll be doing one on concealment and one on shooting experience. Who knows what could happen! Lol I personally steer away from SA mags just because they aren't necessarily always reliable. I can't justify buying the most reliable gun and then throwing unreliable mags in it lol Glock just needs to step it up and make a new mag for them! Lol
Glad I read this. I assumed the MC9 would have the typical butter smooth trigger but hopefully a regular Canik trigger can be swapped in because I planned to make this my new EDC
@S.O.G I definitely agree glock needs to make new mags but glock hasn't done much new except make a slim version of a gun or swap and upper and a frame on stuff that's been out for a long time and call it "new"😂 I never had any issues whatsoever with shield arms mags and haven't heard of anyone really saying that they were an issue. Maybe gen 1 problems?
@Royal Thurston I've just confirmed that the triggers that are compatible for the mc9 are all the METE series guns triggers. So. That basically means if you want a flat trigger with a shorter take-up you just buy a Taylor Freelance trigger shoe for the METE series and it will be the take-up and wall with clean break you are looking for based off the research I found. Going to be trying this soon.
After actually getting use to both, the Canik is the better gun but I wold trust the Glock more since my mc9 gave me issues. MC9 still a GREAT gun in my opinion. If it didn't have issues I'd go as far as saying it's the best carry option out there
I don't mind them. Hate that they're plastic but I don't think the design itself is that bad. I agree tho Glock is trippin with that upcharge on the MOS versions 💯
The champ has never been the 43x. The Sig365 has been the champ, and the Mc9 doesn’t change that since the macro365 was released. My 365 has the 365x slide riding a modified macro grip module cut down to fit the shorter 365 slide. 17+1 is better than the Canik 15+1.
1. The Macro is twice the $ as the MC9 2. The 43 has outsold the P365 3. The 43 is far more reliable than any 365 series gun 4. The 365 holds 17+1 but in this video I put an 18+1 in the MC9 so your capacity point falls dead 5. These last 4 points I mentioned are all proven facts and you'll probably get upset but it's ok because that's your opinion 🤷🏽♂️
@@S.0.G I own three 43x's so obviously I'm a fan, and I've owned the original 43 since it released however many years ago that was. I get blue label pricing so my 43x costs less than the Canik. When I see the Mc9 at my gun shop I'll take a look at it. It would be my first Canik I ever bought if I end up liking it. I don't count the extended magazines that hang off the bottom of the gun. If I wanted that, I'd just carry my Glock 26 with a 33rd factory magazine. My modified macro is probably just as small as the Canik with the 15rd magazine, except mine would be 17+1. The 365 is definitely more expensive, so I'll give you that.
Bro, you were good until you talked about trigger guard. You aren’t going to carry with the firing pin out of battery and it’s actually worse than the Canik when “cocked and locked”.
"You aren't going to carry with the firing pin out of pocket battery?" What? 😖 you lost me there bro lol but yea this was just my first impressions. In a later videos (after I shot them) I admitted I was dead wrong about the trigger. Still think the mc9 take up is too long but better than all others overall
@@treyswingo9079 depends on the model, a standard combat optic model is like $679 or something around that. If we’re only talking a couple hundred dollars then that’s a no brainer for me
You're complaining about the trigger, yet saying you haven't shot it yet. Go shoot it. Almost any trigger out there is better than a Glock trigger. The safety blade is flush when the trigger breaks, can Glock say that? After shooting a few rounds or mags with a Canik, does it wear on your finger or leave an indent on your finger pad. Shoot first, review later.

Great gun and absolutely deserves its respect! But the canik is half the price. Xmacro in my opinion is too small to be better than bigger guns and too big to be better than smaller guns if that makes sense lol

I agree with u bro wen I first went to the store to get the 43x soon as I held it , it just felt perfect in my hand

Totally agree 💯 I don’t think I can find another gun that gives me the feeling my 43X does damn gun is just great .

With the shield 5 round extender you get 20 in a flush fit mag, plus 1 in the chamber.

That’s the first time I’ve ever seen a Canik trigger do that. You should seriously think about sending it back and getting a new one! I have four Canik’s, not a single one of their triggers have ever done that. Not one.
Yea same with my other ones but apparently this one is a lil different 🤷🏽♂️
Great comparison... thank you!

Can't wait to get more rounds down range .. good review
Appreciate the love man! I wasn't a huge fan of the hellcat trigger either honestly but that apex should definitely change it up quite a bit lol
Apex doesn’t help. It makes for a lighter pull. But mine is still mush. No wall.

Which one is easier to rack. Bad wrists unfortunately?
MC9 definitely has the stiffer slide between these 2

The sights are rough so you can rack it on tables and other things without causing damage
I'd rather use my hands lol it's a good concept but the slide is already pretty stiff
@@S.0.G well yea but i guess its for those “oh fawk it didnt feed” or somethin like that
You can put the rival trigger shoe into the mc9 which reduces the take-up and basically mimics the rival trigger in general.
@@Shenmue06
Not worried about the reliability.

But the entire Glock is slick tho

Good point!
I paid $440 out the door for my MC9.
I paid $390 for my two tone MC9. I currently carry my Shield Plus and my GX4. Needing a good edc holster before carrying the MC9. I sold my 43X so that tells you where it compares and ranks in my book.

Can't do a damn thing with ten rounds here in Michigan. 15+ or bust. Also, Canik shows love to lefties.

Great info thanks!
If you want to do an honest review on a gun you should consider shooting it before you make a video. Then your opinions would be justified.
This was just an initial review. I'll be uploading another video today with my shooting experience between the 2!

All that you mentioned cost way more than the Canik. It’s not even a comparison.
1. The Macro is twice the $ as the MC9
2. The 43 has outsold the P365
3. The 43 is far more reliable than any 365 series gun
4. The 365 holds 17+1 but in this video I put an 18+1 in the MC9 so your capacity point falls dead
5. These last 4 points I mentioned are all proven facts and you'll probably get upset but it's ok because that's your opinion 🤷🏽♂️
