There are three warnings before the player is blown out from the dungeon. First warning: "...Something is stirring." This message appears when there are 250 turns left. Second warning: "...Something’s approaching." This message appears when there are 150 turns left. Third warning: "It’s getting closer!" This message appears when there are only 50 turns left. If the player can’t get out of the floor after the time is up, another message will appear: "It’s right near! It’s gusting hard!" If another turn passes, the player will simply disappear. This can’t be avoided, even with Reviver Seeds. Chunsoft did this to stop players from grinding excessively
When I first encountered this, I honestly waited, wondering what it is. I thought it would be a cool boss battle and you could recruit the (legendary) pokemon after the battle. Kind of a disappointment when I just fainted.
@@kirbyfreakyt4695 Can't go past the turn limit. Fire emblem games are the same, can't go past 99 Players aren't allowed to just stay and grind forever

Yes I'm pretty sure it's the force that also changes the layout of the dungeon, making it a "Mystery Dungeon". Have you ever watched Harry Potter and the goblet of fire? Similar thing happens when Harry is in the maze... When he created the red flare using the "Periculum" spell, an "unknown force" in a form of gusting wind started to stir very very hard and changes the layout of the maze.
I remember being really curious about what this was and used the shuppet I befriended in sky tower to fly as far to the right (where the gusts came from) as possible... needless to say all that ended up happening was me wasting like 20 minutes
What I thought the first time this happened to me is that I would teleport to another location of the dungeon and fight some strong pokemon to go back and continue so I waited, kinda disappointed when I found that it just defeated me

In the remakes, and I'm genuinely surprised there are no videos showing players the Unseen Force, it's simply a gust of shadowy wind and the animation is longer. We might find out what was behind this mysterious force in the new gen. This appeared to happen in the trailer with the 2 new wolf legendaries and they looked like they were getting ready for it, but it was never revealed.

A certain site called Ultimate Pokemon Center (which has since gone down, sadly for good it seems) has documented some information on Rescue Team and Explorers entries, including the tilesets. From there, I just digged into the game's memory and searched for the byte responsible for the tileset. This allows you to set the variable far past what the game was ever meant to use.
