You MUST be level 100 to recruit a Kecleon because at that level, you get a 24% bonus to catch rate. With the Friend Bow, you get an extra 10%, bring it to a total of 34% catching rate. Kecleon has a -33.9% catch rate, meaning without level 100 and a Friend Bow, it's impossible to get him.

dayonderproductions They will also attack you if u use a Trawl Orb with one of their shops on the floor. It says it in the description, and I ultimately was a victim. Don't use an Escape Orb on the spot, because from what I heard, you can't use them on the floor where u shoplifted or else the Kecleon will prevent you from using it. I think that at least because on Bulbapedia it says u can't use it when Kecleon are around, so you have to get to the stairs as quickly as possible. If you're lucky enough, the stairs will be in the room next to the Kecleon Shop, and you can get out of there fast as long as u survive the Kecleon of the shop and no more show up. NOTE: They move twice as fast as u, so running is pointless. POINTLESS!

You can steal from Kecleon easily with Yanma. You just hold A and B u till you get double, triple, or quadruple speed. Then you can either spam Detect or double team 😏
+Rajendra Rambir If you didn't know already, you have to be level 90 or above and hold a Friend Bow in order to recruit Kecleon. I suggest being level 100 and have defense and attack 100+, because it will ALWAYS take about 2 hits or in some cases, 1 hit to kill them. Wear a Tight Belt and bring food, Reviver Seeds, and Oran Berries. The best Pokemon for this is Registeel because he resists all Kecleon's attacks ( being Rck, Nrml, Ghst, Psy, and Drk ) and Screech won't do anything because of his ability Clear Body. Wear the Tight Belt and eat any apples to increase your belly size ( of course not the ones you brought though ). Have on Quick Dodger and Energy Saver if you have those IQ skills. If the Kecleons you fight have Screech and you aren't using Registeel, stand on a Wonder Tile. By selecting the GROUND option, you can trigger it if you get Screeched. You can also bring Evasion, One-Room, and Drought Orbs to make it eaiser. Evasion Orbs raise your evasion so you won't get hit that easily ( combined with Quick Dodger makes you nearly invincible! ), while the Drought and One-Room Orb is to make the map just one room so the Kecleons can find you. Drought Orb rinsing all the lava or water so it actually makes it one big room. Find the stairs before you steal from the shop and use ALL your Orbs before then too. Once you get a Kecleon to join you, you could either: A• Try to recruit another [OR] B• Get the holy heck out of there before YOUR Kecleon dies. Bring one Escape Orb to use when you reach the next floor with your Kecleon, as no Orbs work when in "theif" mode. Put on your Friend Bow once that mode is active and rip the souls out of all those Kecleons! Leave once it says "Something's stirring..." DO NOT STAY THERE! Just try again. And never, EVER, bring a partner. Only the leader can recruit Pokemon, plus they would probably take up all your Reviver Seeds. They lower you're chances of recruiting one because they kill the Kecleons that YOU aren't. Any Pokemon with a move that inflicts the entire room like Charizard with Heat Wave or Articuno with Powder Snow is good. Let the Kecleons surround you then unleash the glory if the move. You can also use a Pokemon than knows Double Team so you don't have to use Evasion Orbs ( even though those are optional ). I didn't know this before, but they also seem to be fairly common in Wyvern Hill too. That's all you'll need to know when it comes to recruiting a Kecleon. Good luck and happy adventuring!
It doesn't matter about how many you kill, it's all percentage. There's a 0.1% chance of you recruiting Kecleon. Do you know what that means? It means you could defeat over a thousand of them and not even one will ask to join your team.

once on MD2, my partner picked up one of Kecleon's items, and I was like "oh no, DO NOT MOVE". I forgot what happened, but either we got killed by him by walking out, or i told my partner to drop it, and he THREW into the Kecleon making him angry, and killing us.
@ken1noob Actually there's no such thing as HP Up in PMD. Sorry about that. In PMD, HP Ups have been replaced by Life Seeds. They boost more HP than a Sitrus Berry.
@Odditto Jumpluff is a good idea because in my Explorers of Sky, I used Jumpluff to recruit Kecleon. I used a Jumpluff that holds a Golden Mask; has the moves Sleep Powder, Giga Drain, Solar Beam and Worry Seed; it also has the IQ skill Fast Friend,which raises the recruit rate of Kecleon(or any other opponent) by 1 %. I have around 2 Kecleon.
Friend Bow and level 90-100 is required to put the odds over 0%. Best case scenario is 0.1%. Oh, and Escape Orbs do not work until you take the stairs on the floor that you stole from Kecleon on.
To make this 5 times easier just use shedinja, only one of kecleons moves can hit him. Your only problem is getting him to level 90 and raising his stats. Find nincada at lapis cave and when he levels up to level 20, he evolves into ninjask and shedinja at the same time.

So the final step/tip: If you don't have any evasion raising stuff with you like Double Team or Evasion Orbs, do what most other people do: Bring a lot of Reviver Seeds. (I had high stats and Evasion so basically, I don't really need them.) Well hope this helped.
@cheeezstik If you have Mewtwo or Mew, you're in luck! Mewtwo and Mew are really good Pokemon (although Mewtwo is stronger...) and they level up very quickly! If you don't have them, however, you can always count on Joy Seeds and Joy Ribbons. The best place to train level 22 Pokemon once you've beat Rayquaza is probably Team Rumblerock, where the bosses there, Graveler and Golem, are levels 22 and 15, perfect for your level. Keep training there until you reach level 30.

Second of all, (this is important if you want to be able to kill Kecleon with one tap of the A button) your Pokemon must have stats that number up to 200 and above. The next tip, next message box.
@intercity112255 There's actually no wonder mail to GET a Pokemon, let alone Kecleon. But there are wonder mails that can unlock version-exclusive Pokemon for your version. For example, Magikarp can only be found in PMD Blue while Feebas can only be found in PMD Red. To unlock Magikarp in Red and Feebas in Blue, you'll need a special Wonder Mail code to unlock them so you can see them in the opposite version of the game.

Do you know this? TM32, Double Team, is that available in PMD? When I search for it in the Wonder Mail Generator, there stands "Evasion Orb" instead of Double Team. Is is possible to get it?
@OrkTv Yeah, it does exist. I see Pokémon using it all the time, so it is probably possible to get it. Maybe you'll find the TM in a random dungeon, just like the other TMs.
@ken1noob You could make him have max HP without cheats by using tons of HP Ups. And if you want to have max stats (255 is the max number of stats allowed), use tons of Protein, Iron, Zinc, and other stuff like that.
escape orbs won't work during a chase. I found that out to my absolute horror in joyous tower after using a trawl orb, completely unaware that there was a shop on that floor. I got pwned badly and lost several items T_T I eventually recruited one in pitfall valley after several months of work as a.. Machamp at lvl 100 all stats at 255 625 hp and a friend bow (obviously)
@nail0291 Sorry for taking so long to reply XD Well, when you evolve Nincada, he turns into Ninjask, but when you visit Secretive Forest, you'll be surprised to see a Shedinja :)) Magikarp, Lapras, Aipom, and Minun are all PMD Blue-exclusive Pokemon and cannot be recruited nor even encountered in PMD Red Rescue without first unlocking them through wonder mail.

@sportspro95 Yes. Get a level 100 Pokemon with max stats. Use Physical Attacks. You can never recruit a Pokemon with long range attacks unless its beside you. Also, be patient. Kecleon can be annoying and may seem impossible. Trust me, I wanted to use a Gameshark code already. But I just stayed cool and kept wiping 'em out. No gameshark codes were used in the making of this video.
@nail0291 You don't need an item to make Nincada evolve to Shedinja... as for Eevee, you'll need a Sun Ribbon, which can only be found on the 20th floor of Wyvern Hill.
@MrAlbrave Do you eat Cink and Iron or only on of them, and whats your stats, cause you got only one dmg when one of them you hurt, i get hi ts between 50-200 so pls tell me how high must be the stats of special defense and defense. it would made it much easier
So I should have Charizard go after Kecleon at level 100, which I have, and just hit button A on one Kecleon after another after holding Friend Bow to eventually get him? SHouldn't you have used a trawl orb and stood by the stairs and then go after Kecleon one after another until you got him.

I've played them both for some time as well - unfortunately, there are areas where both games crash, so I still can't complete the story! Like The Nightmare, Zero Isle South (PMD2) or the friend areas (PMD).
one thing that would irritate most kecleon getters is kecleon's doubled speed. it can get very VERY annoying. especially in my case uuuugh very hard to recruit.
@MrAlbrave I have a level 22 which can kill kecleon and also have a friend bow. I want to recruit kecleon but my pokemon is not a high enough level. Any ideas on fast leveling? Also, I didn't hack or anything and dont use an emulator, I play on a dsi without action replay or gameshark.

Whenever I got chased, I get scared and whimpy, so I quit and have a heart attack
If you recruit a Pokémon and then use an escape orb on the same floor, the Pokémon you recruited won't come back with you.
when you got hit by keckleon's slash it only took 2 damage when i got hit it took 80 damage how is that possible
he used all iron to boost his defence to the max, which is 200. Even if you are level 100 you dont have max stats

escape orbs won't work during a chase. I found that out to my absolute horror in joyous tower after using a trawl orb, completely unaware that there was a shop on that floor. I got pwned badly and lost several items T_T

Well, when you evolve Nincada, he turns into Ninjask, but when you visit Secretive Forest, you'll be surprised to see a Shedinja :))
Magikarp, Lapras, Aipom, and Minun are all PMD Blue-exclusive Pokemon and cannot be recruited nor even encountered in PMD Red Rescue without first unlocking them through wonder mail.

@sportspro95 Yes. Get a level 100 Pokemon with max stats. Use Physical Attacks. You can never recruit a Pokemon with long range attacks unless its beside you. Also, be patient. Kecleon can be annoying and may seem impossible. Trust me, I wanted to use a Gameshark code already. But I just stayed cool and kept wiping 'em out. No gameshark codes were used in the making of this video.
@nail0291 You don't need an item to make Nincada evolve to Shedinja... as for Eevee, you'll need a Sun Ribbon, which can only be found on the 20th floor of Wyvern Hill.
Is there a moon ribbon also?

@MrAlbrave Do you eat Cink and Iron or only on of them, and whats your stats, cause you got only one dmg when one of them you hurt, i get hi ts between 50-200 so pls tell me how high must be the stats of special defense and defense. it would made it much easier
So I should have Charizard go after Kecleon at level 100, which I have, and just hit button A on one Kecleon after another after holding Friend Bow to eventually get him? SHouldn't you have used a trawl orb and stood by the stairs and then go after Kecleon one after another until you got him.

I found that dumb shop twice and still didn't recruit kecleon.
@Naglfar94 of course its possible to recruit kecleon without fast friend! Fast Friend , after all, only increases your chances by 1%!
I've played them both for some time as well - unfortunately, there are areas where both games crash, so I still can't complete the story! Like The Nightmare, Zero Isle South (PMD2) or the friend areas (PMD).
My lvl 78 Blastoise has 178 hp. Imagine when hes lvl 100.

@MrAlbrave I never used HP ups, just Sitrus Berries when his HP is full, and it goes up by 2. Is that the same with HP ups?
@Trinopsis nope. Once you recruit Kecleon, it will go back to normal speed.
one thing that would irritate most kecleon getters is kecleon's doubled speed. it can get very VERY annoying. especially in my case uuuugh very hard to recruit.
@weegee31337 even after getting a kecleon, I still rob their shops just for the thrill of the chase and for the fun of it XD

@MrAlbrave I have a level 22 which can kill kecleon and also have a friend bow. I want to recruit kecleon but my pokemon is not a high enough level. Any ideas on fast leveling? Also, I didn't hack or anything and dont use an emulator, I play on a dsi without action replay or gameshark.

@nail0291 You won't always get Kecleon because of that... some people get Dragonite, some get Tyranitar, some get Gyarados.

ok i need to get to the bottom of this is fast friend iQ the onley way to get kecleon in explores of sky becuase i would prefer to go without it becuase my team leader a level 100 riolu with a golden mask can fight them head on and he has fighting type moves which are kecleons weakness so can i get it without fast friend becuase the pokemon that can learn it are sooo weak none of them can touch my riolu and i didnt even bother with their iQ so they dont have any onley riolu and my grovyle do

@OrkTv It's alright. I used to offend people everywhere, not knowing I was being a noob and offending people at the same time. (To this day, I still feel really embarassed.) So, unlike other people who shout and curse at other people when offended like this, I don't really care. (Now I need to improve my humility XD)
