WHAT IS THAT CLOTH YOU PUT DOWN OVER THE TRANSFER PAPER!?!?!?
Whenever you start selling transfers, you got a loyal customer with me!! Love your vids and your brand. I’m not a rider but I can appreciate high quality work when I see it! 🤘🏾
Thanks man 👊🏻. I definitely plan on it in the near future, just wanna try out a few more things to make sure they're going to be top notch. I'll probably revisit it for one more video once I'm ready
I couldn't agree more. Future customer right here as well. 🤗❤
I love watching your videos Lee, not only are they educational, they are entertaining but what makes the videos for me is your brutal honesty, keep up the good work bro.
Great video! Love how you show us your trial and error. You're the most informative screen print channel on RUclips!
Thanks a lot! I always make sure to show the good and bad and not bullshit anyone, it's all about keeping it real 🤘🏻
Nice video mate... always very watchable. Plastisol transfers look like a nice easy (ish) way of getting those little jobs done.
Thanks mate
They definitely can serve a lot of purposes in the clothing business, can't wait to do more 🤘🏻
Awesome videos and graphic style. I've been following you for about 7 months now. You've given me a lot of confidence to take that first step. So... I bought and put together my first 2 station, 4 color screen printer last night.
Wish me luck. LOL!
Super cool to hear that man! Good luck, and remember it takes a lot of patience and practice 🤘🏻
Lee, thanks for all the work you put into these videos, professionally done and has helped me understand this whole process.
Glad they help somehow!
Lee, thanks for the info in this video!! I am trying to set up my high school shop to use this technique for polyester shirts!!!!! Best channel on the internet!!
I have a bunch of 5 panel hats and transfers paper laying around. After watching this video, I’m going to make some hats now. Thanks Lee 🙏🏽
I haven't even watched this yet, but I just wanted to drop a note and say THANK YOU for making these videos. In the past it's been exhausting to learn about screen printing -- either have Ryonet which, is informative but... well. Or people doing it in their basements without proper presses and half-assing it.
Gonna go and binge all of your videos now..
Hey I'm still in a basement, but there's definitely no half assing going on here 😂. Thanks for watching, super happy to hear these things are helping people!
Your an Inspiration. Thanks for the Positive Vibes.
Happy to hear 🤘🏻
your edits are so clean bro. really love all the detail footage of the process.
Thanks a lot man. I love adding that extra effort to them
Awesome video man....it’s awesome to see the behind the scenes on how something is done...keep these awesome videos coming...
Hell ya thank you 🙏🏻
Bro thx for the video, just picked up some back to basic screen stuff to add to our dtg and specialty printshop and your vids are gold. Nice shop BTW. As an equipment guy I see alot of nice toys :)
One of my favorite hats. And OTTO hats are literally the best/most comfortable in the game. Period.
Definitely one of the best out there
man...the production quality is off the chain in all your videos.
anytime i go to watch one i end up watching at least 3 back to back lol.
good shit
Thanks man, that's always the goal 🤘🏻
Love your videos bro, your style stands out from the rest.
I appreciate it man 🤘🏻
You only need to "gel" the ink... about 230ish. DO use the adhesion powder. 83-110 screen. I use a "vacuum platten" heat press at 325 for 25-30 seconds on a shirt. Printed thousands of them like this. Multi color gets a bit tricky.
Yay!!! New upload! I’ve always wondered how these were made.
Can't wait to make more!
Woke up with the upload notification and for sure had me thinking i slept 48hrs and we were Sunday morning lol!
Happy to see you back my dude killer job 🤘🏻🤘🏻
I tried a new upload time and day, it wasn't a success 😂
Lee Stuart my man, i don’t give 2 shits where i am in Canada working at that exact time, you can upload any day you want or even post pics of wheelies doing what cat does or upload just to say stupid thing, i will stop what i’m doing everytime and watch that damn video!! Keep it up bro by far my most liked youtuber to watch ALL DAY going back to the first video! Plus from Canada 🤘🏻👌🏻! Looking foward for the next one already! Keep killing the game my man🤘🏻👌🏻
Can’t wait till you start making riding gear (mainly riding gloves), regardless sick products. Loved watching the transformation from rider to entrepreneur. Keep up the good work. 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks a lot man, it's been a cool journey
*Lee Stuart has uploaded a video*
Me: Thrusts head through 230 mesh screen in excitement
Hahaha amazing 😂
@@leestuart38 hi. Can you make a video, 4 or 5 color heat transfer
@@kokoroko7810 there's no need to do 4 or 5 color heat transfer bruh, what a waste of time doing 1 by 1 color heat transfer, what you need to do just doing the under base with white plastisol ink on to the color printed transfer paper and the process just same as heat transfer using adhesive powder and curing with heat press after that ready to apply in the shirt but with spraying some water after first heat press then press again about 5 second then you peel off after spraying water, that's what called Digital Screen Transfer method
Another great video sir! Plastisol transfers are more interesting than screening shirts in my opinion! Great info.
Thanks 🙏🏻
Thank you Lee ... excellent demonstration ... I have done nearly the same thing you did for trial and error ... finding the exact temps and times ... Great Job!
Takes some time to really figure it out since there are so many factors involved, but super easy to apply once you have them dialed🤘🏻
Muy buenos tus videos siempre los sigo. Realmente pensé que había algún secreto. De todas formas gracias por mostrar lo que haces!!
So I need a screen printer in order to make my own transfers?
Yes
Your still doing well Lee top man really happy for you fella
Thanks a lot dude!
Just found your content as I'm looking into starting a brand and you have opened my eyes to multiple different ideas and inspirations. Binge watched all of your screen printing stuff then quickly got sucked into all the cool bike stuff. Quality fun content to watch.
Thanks a lot dude! Welcome aboard 🙌🏻
Thanks for this video. I just tried making some plastisol transfers for hat and it did not go well at all. But I think I over curred the ink after watching this.
This is exactly the video I needed to see!
Do you have any tips for if I'm heating the transfer with a blow dryer?
A blow dryer isn't going to cure plastisol
Great video I usually don’t subscribe or comment but here I am. I do need an 8?color plastisol transfer.
They look so nice! But Can you use water based ink to make this dtf transfers?
People will literally hate on anything! Unless the thumbs down are from companies like FM expressions in which case that makes the thumbs down hilarious. Great work Lee!!
Haha most likely the people that bug me for bike videos every day of my life 😂. Thanks man
Print flash print transfers 🤯 never even tried that, we’ve just forbid transfer art from high mesh lmao thank you sir! You stepped my game up lmfao
Yup you need to build up transfers the same way you would print a shirt or anything else, just in reverse.
You really just solved the issues I've been having with mine, thanks for putting this out!
Migrating a little bit. You could use a poly underbase grey with two whites over the top to get it really nice, bright and white
Very educational 💪💪❤️ touch of wheelie the cat as t shirt soon?🤔😅
what helps with glue residue on the transfer? I keep have an issue with this on dark colored shirts. No matter how much I "Dust" the transfer I can't seem to get all the residue off.
I wish someone answered this bc I’m dealing with it now too
That's bad ass... love that otto flat bill trucker!!
They're definitely one of my favorites
Hi Mate, well, i have question about plastisol transfer. Can it be applied for simulated colours?
I THINK YOU SHOULD TRY PEELING IT LIKE FOREVER TRANSFERS...PEEL CLOSER TO THE SUBSTRATE.
Hey man, just wondering how that rubber patch was put onto that hat you’re wearing in the video? Heat? Stitch? Love watching your stuff. Very informative!
They're sewn on, really the only way to do PVC patches
@@leestuart38 That’s what I figured. I’ve been throwing some designs together looking to launch something here soon and I love how PVC patches look. Thanks for getting back to me!
Great to see this in action. I love plastisol transfers. Been using them a lot. Was wondering if you ever considered getting a dtg printer or to build one yourselves?
I don't really have the need for a DTG just yet
@@leestuart38 makes sense
You nailed it Lee!
Thanks man 🤘🏻
Are you selling these transfers yet??? Thanks for the sick videos man! You’re killing it!
Thanks dude. I'm not yet, there's still so much more to learn about them, they're a whole different ball game and I want to make sure I'm selling a top shelf product ✊🏻
great videos .....were you using just regular plastisol ink and not a hot split ink ?
Those trucker hats are sweeetttttt
Thanks man, definitely a favorite of mine
Lee Stuart hell yeah!
You equipment is explosive.
Great video, what's the off contact gap( paper gap to screen) when making your screen transfer on print press?
I run somewhere between 1/16" and 1/8" for paper and tees
I know this this 2 years old but just curious if you remember what brand that hat was. Looks like a yupoong but all theirs seem to have a green under layer. Been trying to find ones that fit the same but without the green
The some were from Otto Cap and the others were from Richardson. Otto will have what you're looking for 👍🏻
Very nice !

Cool, I really dig your work, and this is also a really cool option for printing. Quick question. If I do not have a conveyor, can the flash do the job before heat pressing?
You sure can!
Adding a little adhesive powder to the ink won't hurt either especially on multiple color transfers
Awesome! Thanks for doing this.
Glad it helps 🤘🏻
Damm bro you just unlocked a way i could do hats !
Hell ya 🤘🏻
Thank you and great job! Is there a way to dry them if you dont have a conveyor dryer?
Yup! You can just use your flash
I like this video and am still on the ads
why?
cuz the company I used to go thru was crappy🤷🏿♂️
Thanks for sharing
wow
shaking effect on point with the music @ 2:57
🔥af
My videos are always full of those little editing tricks haha, I love that shit
Nice! What kind of heat transfer paper should be used?
It's linked in the description
Have you ever used FM Expressions? If so how do they hold up? Thanks!!
I haven't sorry, but I hear good things
Great vid! Thanks!
Thanks for watching 🤘🏻
You are still our hero
When curing the paper through dryer can you cure it with a flash dryer instead because I don’t have a dryer.
You sure can. You just have to pay close attention since it's less consistent
Great show Lee.
Thanks!
Awesome im trying to start my own clothing label...how do you make all your logos
Adobe illustrator
Whats up Lee. If you dont mind me asking why did you stop heat pressing? I currently get my transfers from Transfer Express as well and when I do get get orders they are for 100 or more so its going well. BUT you always hear its not the same as screen printing. Just wanted your input because I want to make sure Im giving my customers the best quality. Thanks!
The quality of a screen print is far better than a transfer, it's not even a contest. Plus you have way more options and versatility, less wait time, higher profit margins and so on. I just used transfers to buy screen printing gear
yo Lee i might of missed it but what type of transfer paper di you use????? why and when would this be efficent i love the concept but why not just go directly with the screen instead of the extra steps. is this mainly a business strategy to provide clients with less equipment.
This would be to provide customers with heat presses another way to decorate, or to use them in house on hard to print items like the hats I did here
keep these up. love these videos
Thanks a lot 🤘🏻
I want the test shirt lol
How long can you store a prepared transfer before using it?
Does the quality degrade the longer you wait?
Thanks!
They can be stored indefinitely
Excuse me. When you flash at what temperature did you flash and how many seconds? Also your paper doesn't curl when you flash it
Unless you have a temp control sensor on your flash, it all has to be done by feel and time. It's going to take some testing and experimentation
Do you think it is possible to make your own plastisol heat transfers with a flash dryer vs. a conveyor dryer? Currently don't have a belt dryer, but am looking at making transfers and I'm curious if it would still work or if it's hard to control the proper flashing time/temp on the paper?
It is definitely possible. Since the ink is just yelled and not fully cured, it's actually pretty easy with a flash. Just make sure to watch it with a temp gun so you're not over or under doing it 🤘🏻
How do you register (save) your settings on the different processes for repeatability on the future? (not only on this process, but in all of them)
It all just comes with knowledge and practice man
Use metatran instead of the powder. It gives a much more consistent result with adhesion. You really need to slap it to on a hat. You’ll always get a good result on t-shit
What supplies do I need?
Nice job!!! Where did you get boxes with your logo on them made?
I made them. There's a video about it on my channel 🤘🏻
@@leestuart38 Thanks I will definitely check that out!!!!
Can i make my own plastisol heat transfers? We do not have companies that print plastisol transfers designs
My Guy Lee! Wadup Big Dawg 💪🏾💯
hey lee how many coats of emulation did you put on the screen thanks for the vid i ordered the f/n ink great job
This was a 2/1 coating. Thanks!
Lee where can I get those black hats you are using for the brand?
They're from Otto cap
What kind of heat transfer paper do you use?
Where you get the hats from
What size hat platen do you recommend to print on similar hat styles?
This is me at this point trying to learn how to set up in my apartment but cost efficient.
what is the name of the film to direct print plastisol ink
Awesome video!! Quick question would it work the same with a dual/multicoloured print? (Would it just be print heat print heat with each colour?)
And what mesh screen would you use?
This was a 160 mesh. It depends on the print and what kind of garment it's going on. If it's something that has a full underbase then you can flash each color as you go, if it isn't then there's other steps you have to take. You just need to have a fully wet ink layer in the final step to be able to apply the adhesion powder.
What happened to the pit bike build
The front edge of the press always has less pressure. Use the middle.
Where you get the hats from?
Awesome video
how much should i pay for a good heat transfer?
Excellent 💪😎✌🏻
Did you get into doing multi colors with an underbase?
Not yet. I don't make these a whole lot
If you printed plastisol ink directly on one t-shirt, and heat pressed the same design on another shirt, could you tell the difference?
Yes you can, quite a bit actually
Hey Lee how do you run that exhaust out your window? It's cold as a witches tit here so I'm curious how you manage that. Cheers!
In this small space it gets hot as hell once the flash and the dryer are running for a little while, the open window is welcomed haha. I actually stick a fan in there too to try to bring some of the cold air inside
Yyyeeeeesssssss your doing plastisol now awesome bro I'm interested in some for sure
We're ready to go anytime now 🤘🏻
Exelent video bro 👊
Thanks man 👊🏻
do you have any websites you recommend to send artwork and purchase the transfers
Stahls transfer express is what I used to use before I started printing
Hi Lee what’s the PSI of your air cmpressor? Cheers
It's just a small dewalt compressor, one of their smallest I'm pretty sure. It maxes out at like 120psi
Do distressed or wood textures on vector designs work with plastisol heat transfers ?
Yes and no, really depends on the size and how thick of an ink build up there is because transfers do squish down when pressed
