I was warned about this road in Zambia!

  • I had just entered Zambia from Namibia and had spend the night in a small campground right on the Zambezi river in the border town Sesheke.
I was about to take on possibly the worst road in Africa, the M10 from Sesheke to Kazungula. People had warned me about it - but I get so many warnings all the time, and often I end up thinking "Ah, was that it". But this one was different! It actually lived up to its reputation.
In this video you will also see how I behave when I think I am meeting dishonest police officers. In this situation I chose to be a bit b*itchy. Just me trying to survive travelling alone. Still don't know if the council levy is supposed to be paid for motorcycles or not.
No matter, the officers were actually very nice.
    Enjoy the ride!

Hi I’ve lived in Zambia for a year with many of my college mates for an internship program. As much as I liked living there, I find it appalling that my foreign looking friends including I gets stopped many times by a police officer when I sit on the front seat. (In Lusaka, the town part). So I started having a local friend to drive and there was no one to stop us at all. I had told this to my local friends and their response was “they have to find other ways to get money because the gov doesn’t pay them well” :/ we were just students, we had no extra cash to give 😢 it was kinda hard for us to have a positive attitude, but we tried. And I see this video, I was inspired by how patient and joyful you are in every situation. May God bless!

Do not apologise for our country. We are doing the best we can. If she can does not like it, let her take and hike and go somewhere else. She refused to pay road taxes; she quarrelled with the officials, and bitched about pot holes. It our damn country. If we want we plant nails on every centimeter of the sesheke Livingstone road. During rain season, all those deep potholes are filled up with fish. You only have to get down from your bike or motorcar and throw your fishing hooks. It has been like this since 2013 till now. More blessings in rainy seasons, delays during your fishing kkk

I do not blame her. The challenge is that there are too many counters or areas to go to. They need to streamline all these processes and make a single desk where all these payments are made. All these revenue collectors for each section can be on one desk so that it is easy for visitors to pay for all documents required
