    My son switched on the head light whole day and battery dried up. Can we charge the battery in home or is it necessary to take battery to electric shop

      Hi Chandan, You should be able to change battery at home. Just buy the same battery and follow instructions as shown in this video.

    Why does the negative terminal come off before the positive terminal?
    Seems like if you take off the positive terminal first, voltage is no longer applied to any part of the car, there is simply a bare positive terminal hanging in the air. Then nothing that happens on the car as long as you do not touch the positive terminal will matter. Then virtually anything that happens when taking off the negative terminal doesn't matter. You can even put that little red plastic cap from the new battery onto the old battery while you are removing it so nothing can contact it?
    I am going to change a battery now and do it the suggested way, but I am wondering why? I wanted to check on the Internet what is the correct way to change the battery, but I wonder why?
    Any wisdom on this would be appreciated.
    Does it really make that much difference?

      Hi, Your logic is correct, disconnecting any terminal first will break the circuit. But there is a reason to do so and it is ‘SAFETY FIRST’.
      The positive terminal is always at higher potential. While you disconnect positive terminal first and if in case your tool accidentally touches any part of the car chassis it will create a short circuit. The high heat from battery could lead a possibility to explode thus making sulfuric acid to spray around.
      The method of sequencing terminal disconnection is a best practice so even a layman can perform this task with ease and safety.

      Just did it this afternoon. Thanks, I understand and agree with your logic. It has to do with the fact that the whole car is the negative terminal if you take the positive terminal off first, whereas if you take the negative terminal off first only there is only the positive terminal one need to avoid.

    Do we get shock while doing

    • @bicyclecolours8988
      @bicyclecolours8988  Год назад

      Hi Dinesh, You never get electrocuted by touching car battery. But be sure your spanner/wrench never touches both terminals at the same time. This may cause spark, high heat and explode the battery.

    I find the 10 spanner does not sit well on the nut and there is very little space to manipulate....bit of a struggle

      @bicyclecolours8988  11 месяцев назад +1

      Hi Pramila Priyadarshini, Each brand have their own nut specification that goes to secure battery inside rig. The best option would be to try using different spanner numbers and select the best one. Thank you!
