Probably the best organized yard I've seen. No trees ,no brush, everything organized ,no parts thrown on the ground. Thank you for the tour.

A lot of old Iron in this junkyard. Might find some great parts. And maybe a restoration. But, most are done. Love looking like yourself. Just a whole lot to take in. I appreciate you showing your viewers the old cars. And thank you for sharing!

You're in my back yard. I live about 5 miles from French Lake Auto. I pulled my first carb for my 66 LeMans from French Lake back in the late 80s. There are a couple other yards (Rohner's in Willmar MN and Windy Hills in New London MN) as good or better nearby as well. Check them out next time you're in the neighborhood.

One of the BEST organized boneyards I have ever seen! Most have been picked clean, but if you are looking for a part that's bent on your ride, I'm sure that you will find it there. VERY few candidates for a restoration - that gold '66 Impala might have been one. A real nice walkthrough, and an excellent car paradise!!!

Damn Ryan. This video was sensory overload. My old eyes and brain were reeling after this 1. I have never seen a salvage yard of this size, in all of my 61 years. And the organization, was INSANE! Cars were arranged by models, make and year. They had the year written on most of them, and everything had an inventory number on it. I was impressed by how 50's and 40's cars there were. This video was so impressive. Thanks for sharing it with us. btw. Christine was a 58 Fury in the movie. But I think, my son told me that in the book, it was actually a 57. Which is kind of weird.

This is the cleanest most organized junk yard that I have ever seen, no broken windshields done by the very customers who should know how valuable any and all parts are to the person who is looking for impossible to find parts. I saw so many good usable parts. I did not see any double stacked vehicles anywhere in the whole yard, that alone is a huge blessing and not found much anymore. Very nice yard with so many good parts al over the place. I also saw a few wagons that looked to be saveable as well as a few other cars too. Thanks guy`s for sharing this wonderful yard with us.👍👍👍

French Lake has helped out many Rat Rod projects!
In the late '70s they were well known for having lots of four wheel drive stuff.
Matt at Carney's in Ames, Iowa, got me a set of brand new Selectro lockouts for my '67 Chevy 4x4.
Had the phone looking thing that all salvage yards had, and just yelled for French Lake. It was like a C.B. radio on steroids.
That was about 1976. Year before I graduated high school.

I'm nearly speechless, this place is AMAZING! 17:20 about those 59 or so Pontiacs, they're gorgeous, and you say you haven't had great luck with them so I do wonder, if Pontiacs are "similar" to the matching year Chevrolets, how much of a hassle would it be to drop, say, a 235 Stovebolt Six or 283 SBC V8 and Powerglide into a formerly V8-powered Pontiac? Would motor mounts from a Biscayne or Bel Air bolt to the perches? Would the transmission mounts have somewhere to bolt up underneath? I'm sure radiator hoses and wiring and exhaust and a throttle linkage would be fun to make but would it be too much hassle if you had a '59 Pontiac roller and a Chevy engine and Powerglide available?

Wow! Great collection! Thanks for taking us! There were a lot of attention grabbers, and all that chrome amongst all that rust there toward the beginning was just so nice! The one that really caught my eye was that silver 48 Kaiser Frazier at 53:10 not sure I ever seen anything like that. Problem though is in junkyards cars have a head start, they are already lowered (no wheels or tires) and in this case no front bumper making it look quite a bit sleeker than the pics I looked up of it in concourse. Still very beautiful ride!

Thanks for the walk through the salvage yard. I was correcting what out of correct and changed and somehow I sent it. More importantly to 68 Oldsmobile Cutlass convertible. That car restored just the driver quality is worth a fortune. It might take a bigger Fortune to get it to that point. The hood look like a 442 Hood but I didn't take close enough look. The back part of the body looks being good shape maybe I should go back and look to see the bumper. I have an absolutely beautiful car and some may smacked back end. So the back part of that car may be helpful.

Ended up having one of the guys drive me around the lot. Showed me the whole lot! I picked his brain while we dug through the trailer that was filled with TBird parts for a good hood for a squarebird. He then looped me around one more time when I saw a '55 Capri (hard as crap to find) and I was able to grab a couple parts off of that. I was soaked at the end, but they were fair on pricing, friendly and I got a couple cups of coffee to boot. I will definitely do business with them again.

Yay, a 150 survives at 3:50, not all were parted out for Bel-Airs ! 4:20 - according to Standard Catalog of Chevrolet, there are no records of car production divided into series, only into body types. There were 169,016 Sport Sedans made in total. 6:58 - damn, a whole herd of bulletnose Studes ! 7:43 - OMG, OMG Packards ! PACKARDZ ! Whole packs of Pack-ards ! :) they are somewhere out there still ! 9:24 - that's a Chrysler dear sir Ryan ;) a whole bunch of Chrysler rows go from here. And you found yourself a love for first wave of Forward Look styling cues 12:32 - that's a Fleetwood 60 Special, the top of non-stretched Caddys, has tinted glass so probably had a/c on top of the power-everything. Someone spent lots of cash one day of 1962 in the dealership 14:47 yay Stude '57 and it's sweeping color inser 17:02 - yay, a flattop ! Someone go love it and care for it ! 18:44 - with that central medallion and multiple teeth it's a '50 front. 21:13 - aww the rocket taillights got smashed 23:30 - yup it looks like it was just rolled in there today straight of someone's garage. (still: got no fins ! Give it fins ! ) 27:20 - OMG Edsels ! They exist ! Yay ! Go Edsels go ! 29:27 - aww a '56 4 door hardtop, first of that year like in GM. Phaetons were 4 door hardtops specifically. Like Holidays in Oldsmobiles or Victorias in Fords (but that included all hardtops) 34:41 - leave the '59 Buick back ends alone ! They need their fins ! How are you gonna have finned car with no fins ?! Bastards ! The interior trim makes it a LeSabre 35:03 - Ryan's hood trauma kicks in, deep breaths now Ryan, deep breaths ! 35:14 - upholstery on the doors seems to be for a 98, so strange nobody got it power windows. 40:41 - awww a SMOLL Ranchero on Ranger, someone go love it ! 42:48 - omg omg, the wagons are still around ! Some of them are out there ! 43:16 - 2 sedan deliveries back there ? Nobody cares for sedan deliveries ? Come on ! 45:04 - OMG ! a '42 ! Poor last prewar ! 45:06 - people really need rear fenders off those generations of Chevys, all of them gone 47:51 - didn't know that, poor Bel-Airs, pushed out of top spot by Impala and also produced later .... 49:04 - what an intense blue on this '61 on right side ! Wow ! 51:13 - yaaay, a straight six ! Someone was thrifty 53:12 - OMG OMG ! A '49-'50 Frazer ! Someone go love it ! It can't just sit there abandoned like that ! Poor thing ! 53:23 - DAMN ! There are rows of them ! Look at them sitting nicely ! 53:54 - oh the Vagabond ! 53:51 - oh the glorious '54s ! Stripped of all the characteristic trim but still looking sharp for their era 55:01 - '56 yes, but Dodges 56:14 - with that kicked-up beltline that's a '62 Plymouth. That one that fell victim of GMs rumor that their lineup will be downsized for '62, so the Plymouths and Dodges were hastily downsized too. Meanwhile, GMs downsizing didn't actually happen 59:10 - that's a DeSoto now. A top of the line Fireflite judging by the headlight trim with waterfall spears on top

@ 3:47 - '57 Chevy 150 four door sedan. Rescue that car! I would love to restore such a popular car, but in a not-so-popular and rare body style/trim. Looks like factory Harbor Blue. Of all the cars I saw in this yard, it's this car I want.

@ 38:28 - instead of the mindset of what can be robbed off some of these cars, how about thinking of grabbing the whole car to restore?
