      indeed it takes bit of time, but If you require quick charging you can get second battery, so for example, a delivery rider might be always charging one battery while out in the streets and hot swap between them as needed. this was the entry cost of the scooter is much lower as If it was equipped with 'fast' charging.

    • @Adam_Outdoors
      @Adam_Outdoors 3 года назад +3

      @@JoeDobias Nah. I ended up buying a quicker charger from China. It's 8A as opposed to the 5.2A you get with bike. It's awesome.
      Also,. I have two batteries. I use my bike every day as do local deliveries. I do around 80-90 mile a day. Once one battery is down to about 30% I swap for other and charge other one to full in about 4 hours then swap again. I try to never let battery go below 20% as it's not healthy for batteries and strongly advised against.

      It's a bit late, but in case you were still in the market, the NQI GT SPORT & PRO requires a motorcycle endorsement as these bikes are equivalent to a 125cc. The ones being reviewed here are the equivalent of a 50cc or less. The latter has less range, smaller battery, etc. Cheers.

    I'm out in Bangkok and the range seems fine but with Bangkok traffic usually doing between 60-80 kph this wouldn't be able to keep up. Looks like I'll have to go for the bigger bike.

    • @NevoEVReviewIreland

      Thanks for the question George. Do you mean can you get a more powerful battery for greater range? If so, I'm not aware of one as the battery compartment is sized for the current battery shape. Maybe as battery technology improves, they may have a more powerful battery.

    Excellent looking machine. Cruise is great to see on something of this price (although it should be a no-brainer on all EVs). Removable batteries are sweet too. It would be nice if even the bigger ones had a small couple of kWh removeable that can be charged at work to help cover a commute/flat battery incident.
    As an aside, I really wish folks would stop referring to these as "mopeds", they are scooters. There are no pedals. It's only a moped (motor + pedals) if you can manually power it like a bicycle. ;)
    /pedantic
    Also, please, please, please wear some gloves when riding.

      @NevoEVReviewIreland  4 года назад

      Thanks for the comment EV Bike dude. NIU do have the NQI GTS dual battery and both are removable. See the link to the intro video below.
      I totally agree regarding the moped/scooter naming. I'll add both to the title and descriptions now. I think people think of the micro scooters depending on the market.
      I'll get gloves for the next review I promise, any recommendations?

      @@NevoEVReviewIreland Gloves are a very personal thing. You may want two sets, a "summer" set for when it's warm, just for protection and a fully lines, waterproof and insulated set for wet/winter use.
      Be careful that any have waterproof colouring, otherwise you might end up with dye/pigment coloured hands if it rains.
      By bigger ones, I mean bikes with 60-200kW. ;) Think Lightning, Damon, Zero, Energica etc. ;)

      @@NevoEVReviewIreland Excellent review Derek.
      Like all EV's its not cheap when compared to an equivalent combustion engined car or motorbike which is a big problem if people want to make the move to EV. I have driven a few EV cars recently and its fair to say they are impressive in terms of performance however all were price prohibitive even after taking running costs into account. Dont get me wrong I am all for EV's except for their pricing.
      We in Ireland have always been screwed by Revenue when it comes to cars etc and unfortunately it looks like that will never change.

    • @eubikedude
      @eubikedude 4 года назад

      @@Jpmlyons If you do high mileage the running and servicing costs off-set the inital cost a lot, facor in reduced depreciation and you have a winner.
      Things can only get better as more appear on the used market and batteries get better and cheaper.
      Revnue issues are a whole other can of worms, SEAI only do what they are told and don't seem interested in getting the same kind of grants cars get for e-bikes. A crying shame!

      As for depreciation : batteries only last a couple of years and sonetines make up half the price of a vehicle.
      Work out how many batteries you'd need to replace over 15 years. (and woyld a particular battery still be made)
      That is some depreciation.
