    Just got a TJ and AC was blowing threw the top vent only. It was the same hose you fixed. Taped it and it works now. Thanks!

    Dude!!! It’s been over a decade with A/C in the defrost, and no Cruise.
    I just passed the 2005 wrangler unlimited to the 17 year old kid.
    And you’ve completely upgraded a vehicle I’ve been driving for 16+ years.
    You are a GOD to me.
    Bless you wise one.

    Holy Shit! I've been living with it blowing through the defrost for almost a year, because i figured it would be a pain in the ass to fix. My hole was exactly where yours was. 1" of electrical tape, and bam! Thanks for the video!

  • @johns4719

    OMG. This has been the problem the whole time??? Such an easy fix. Been driving around for 3 years with no AC blowing out the front panel vents. It was cracked in the same EXACT infamous spot that you taped up. The line was resting on a hot coolant pipe, and you could see the mark where it had been rubbing against it for years after the vacuum line cracked.

    My wife’s 2004 Wrangler TJ went out back in Jan. I decided to fix it. Replaced the inside switch assembly $65. Nope still blows defrost. Replace the regulator $25. Nope still not fixed. Watched your video and tubing was in same spot broke in 2. 1” piece of tubing and 2” electrical tape and it’s good to go. Guess who gets to drive it now? This guy!!!

    This video saved my life! Of course I discover my AC doesn't work when it's 112 degrees in AZ and also my cruise control on the same day. I had no idea they were related to the same issue! Just had to pop my vacuum line back in and everything worked again!! Thank you so much good sir! Quickest cheapest easiest Jeep fix I have ever done

    Holy Smokes...u helped me solve my problem with my 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Searched and watched a few different videos and found you talking about the vacuum lines (and as a side note...the cruise control not functioning properly). Long story short, I followed both directions of my vacuum lines and found some hair line cracks in the hoses. I put electrical tape around the crack till I can buy some 1/4 in. hose and BAMM, I have Air Flow !!!! Thanks...U Rock!

      That is actually not a vacuum problem, that is a blower motor resistor problem, and most likely it has failed. I had a similar problem like that in my TJ. Behind the glove box was a resister I could unscrew and pull out. I did and it was melted. Replaced with a part from Amazon for $30, everything working normally again. The vacuum line on my grand Cherokee broke right at the firewall, I have to figure out how to get into the air box to replace the whole line, for now I got a fresh piece of line, slipped heat shrink over the piece coming out of the firewall, shrunk it up and slipped the new line on the other end and did the same, it's a good temporary fix, but at some point I want to do it properly so I won't have to worry about it ever again in the lifetime I own the vehicle

    My plastic tube is cracked, right at the firewall at the "T"...going into the wall. Not enough to splice. Looks like it goes into a larger tube through the wall. Can I just install a larger diameter pipe/tube to the one through the wall....and the adapt it to the one-way valve?

    • @NishantGogna
      @NishantGogna  4 года назад

      yes, it should be fine. There are no valves in any of the piping you lost.

    Hi thank you for this video! What if that T-line is completely slit through? Where can I find a replacement? Or can I just tape it back up?

    • @NishantGogna
      @NishantGogna  4 года назад +1

      If the T-line is completely slit through, you can try to tape it up (carefully), or you can acquire a makeshift tube that connects the two together. Someone in the comments mentioned a plastic straw. That might help but I haven't tried. But if I was going to try, find a plastic straw that fits as tightly as possible to the tube, slice off a small piece, splice the two sides together inside it (using the straw as a sheath), and E-tape the whole thing up. Then make sure to ziptie the tube off the hot pipe. Give that a shot and see if that helps! Otherwise, you might have to find something at an auto store.

    Did you have idle issues lie a higher than normal about 900 to 1000 with this problem. Mine was running in the 1500. Turned out I had cracked intact and exuast manafold. Once fixed it dropped to 900 to 1000. Air-conditioning works But heater doesn't. I tried to flush the heater core bit it's still clogged. I'm dreading the replacement process. I've replaced the switches. Heating element. Map and other parts on the throttle body And cleaned the throttle body. Cruz control works not sure every time. I don't use it .I don't see any abvious cracks. I might have to do a smoke test. . But truthfully I'm going to replace the engine next year with a golden eagle for more power . .

    How would you fix if it broke right at the fire wall with nothing sticking out

    • @NishantGogna
      @NishantGogna  6 лет назад +1

      I know you probably hate to hear it, but that's most likely going to require work that's beyond something you can do in a typical home garage. If you are still looking to dive in, however, you would probably need to open the firewall and find the line, add a coupler with more line, and feed it back through the firewall. I believe if you look behind the glovebox, you can see the line coming out from the back end of the firewall. You can pull that out, attach the coupler and feed it back through the firewall, but that still requires opening the firewall to feed it through the other side. Basically, if you have the time and expertise, it's doable, but for most, I'd spend the $300 and get that fixed at a dealer.
