    i've been tinkering with this project for a while and it's super interesting, great to see someone making a video about it

    I believe for the shows themselves they trigger the controller (the Arduino in this case) with theatre lighting protocol "dmx" so the operator to use the (control) desk or lighting software of thier choice. DMX itself is a really simple protocol, just an ever repeating stream of 512 8-bit numbers and reset pulse.

    i know there are two systems one with RF and a pre programmed channel they listen to.
    and there is a IR system. there are some movingheads with a strong IR light which send the info to the bracelet.

    Could help to aim the LED towards the device and also dim the lights if it seems unreliable

    • @DavidtheSwarfer
      @DavidtheSwarfer 2 месяца назад +1

      yeah, aim the LED at the device, the way you had it , it was only getting reflections off the camera and sundry things in the environment, which can cause signal corruption due to timing of the echoes.

      Thank you both for the tips! Very good points

    My daughters came home with Taylor Swift bracelets. Do they have RF capability? Is the RF just an alternative way to IR to program or activate the bracelets? The github page is not very clear on that. Thank you for enlightening me on the workings of the system.

      @devwithzachary  2 месяца назад +1

      @@Djeez2 I believe there is a specific version that uses RF instead of IR. The versions from Taylor swift are just IR

    What program do you use to send it to the bracelets and how does it work?

    I would love to find the protocol of the whole eras show and run it while watching it again 😍

      Yes!!! Hopefully someone will be able to capture a recording of the instructions

      @@devwithzacharyhey, do you have "the final signal"? I'm just at the beginning of your video, but decided to ask now in case I forget about it

    I am quite new to all this Arduino stuff. I understood the part flashing the code onto the Arduino. But how do you send these demo effect files on python via the arduino? I don’t get that part

    • @devwithzachary
      @devwithzachary  2 месяца назад +2

      The python script is sending the instructions over the Arduino serial interface (via USB). So the code running on the Arduino itself is waiting for data being sent over serial and then converting it into IR signals. (my rough understanding anyway)

    Can I send my bracelet to you, as I think I missed the last signal as mine just doesn’t work anymore☹️ I would love to get it just flashing normally again

      @elliebastian I can do that for you, I have a Samsung phone configured to do this.

      My braclet from Taylor Swift worked fine at home until I tried to be smart and re-wear it to Coldplay 10 weeks later as it's the same company that do both. But cuz of their eco policy, the last signal stopped all the braclets (they want to reuse theirs at future shows), so my Taylor Swift one died. I was so upset. I'm gonna try to do this to fix it.

      @@emmajay4495 Hey can you help me too? I have android. I never went to any show. My friend gave me the eras tour bracelet from the show she went to. It's not lighting up, can you help me with it?

    I went to the German website and followed their instructions how to set up an android phone with IR blaster.
    I now have a Samsung Galaxy S6 dedicated to driving PIXMOB bracelets from the Eras Tour, including resetting "dead" ones.
    It's a cool tool.
    Next project is to build an Arduino based system that responds to music

    your nails are so short, how can you pickup tiny items with those .. fingers .. without longer nails
