This may be a little cheesey, but I think natural skin is just beautiful. Little pores, blackheads, discolorations, creases, wrinkles, all those so-called imperfections - I think they’re very cute, and very unique to each person. Airbrushed/smooth skin is gorgeous too of course, and there’s no shame in striving for it. I love makeup myself. But anyway, having close-ups and seeing your skin, bare and without filters, seeing all the details, somehow made me happy. Maybe because I’m an (amateur) artist, I think of bodies as being like works of art. It’s like looking closely at a Monet and seeing all of those paintstrokes, the texture, the detail, all that makes up the beautiful whole. I think it would be nice if we could find joy in ourselves, in how our bodies change over time, in getting older, having breakouts, getting wrinkles, developing scars, gaining and losing weight. It’s all part of the process, part of the art.
Well, that’s enough philosophizing for me tonight, haha. Time to head over to Maria’s other channel and go to sleep... 😴💜

As a medical school student, I loved reading this. I grew up in a healthcare-centered household and my parents inadvertently taught me their admiration of the human form. There are things I have seen in my anatomy textbooks that make me believe God exists. Every structure from the tiny to the large is there for a reason, (even if only serving a purpose in our evolutionary ancestors). All the tiny "flaws" we have are what make us human, and every one of us is beautiful.

I’m going to have to try this - I usually bake my concealer, but I’ve noticed sometimes it feels a bit cake-y or heavy.
you could just dust/set your undereyes with powder instead of baking

OH MY ACTUAL GOSH! I use this setting spray and I never thought to use it in this way! Its so effective! Im definitely trying this! I hate those under eye creases you get and just can't bring myself to "bake" my face (i.e. dab a s**t ton of powder over the concealer) This seems like such an easy quick workaround! Thank you Maria! xxx

Hannah H I don’t get how everyone likes it. It clumps my lashes and gives me nooo volume. I just have thin lashes, and yes they’re a little longer but they’re so thin looking. And it makes the curl on my lashes less curly.....
