You truly have THE worlds most soothing voice. I have secure attachment (even you said so one time!) but I watch your videos to better understand and show up for the people that I love and also to better understand my students, (I'm a college professor) but your voice honestly so soothing and calming. It creates peace. ❤

Hi all! I hope you find this helpful and that the new mic is much better! I have a dream of doing interviews with more humans around their trauma stories on youtube (but i know there are too many podcasts lol!) so i am still figuring it out - but is part of why I ordered the mic and then realized it would be better no matter what!! xo

The new mic is great. Also, I'm sure the podcast would be a great addition. It'll have your own perspective which is priceless. Not many podcasts out there C-PTSD focused. I know of zero, haha.

I didn't have an issue with your previous mic but this one is amazing!!! I feel like I am listening to a podcast! The gentle nature of your voice is more pronounced and makes me feel safe.
This video was much needed. As someone who has a disorganized attachment style (leaning avoidant), the tips you gave really opened my eyes to some behaviours that I engage in. It's not easy, but these steps will help a whole lot! Thank you for everything that you do 💛

Really resonated with the idea of never getting out of survival mode or knowing there was any other way. I remember being depressed at just the age of 7 looking at the misery and chaos of my family and thinking that was how life worked.

I just turned 30 years old and I have never had a name for what my Mom has until now. Before cutting her off a few weeks ago, she told me she was diagnosed with BPD years ago. Everything makes so much sense now. It worsened as I grew with age and became independent. She started repeating the same patterns with my own daughter too. I just found your channel and your videos have been so helpful to me during this painful time in my life. So much information, I'm grateful to have resources to educate myself. And to have greater awareness of my own triggers, reactions, things I may have picked up from the conditioning of my childhood. Finally, someone who understands!

Thank you for sharing this valuable content with us dear dr. Kim! I’m the same age as you and very much aware of my disorganised attachement slyle of a mix of nurturing axcious and ethical avoidant. I’m also aware of the fact how it has developed from very early age. I grew up with an epileptic mother and a kind of invisible father. What I would like to share is, that being brought up by a mother who felt on the one hand loving and on the other hand also like an unsafe monster, there are also other components that were added on my list of disorganised attachement. Like feeling quilty about my unexpressed anger around her. Because she couldn’t do anything about her condition. Still burdened me with a huge pile of responsibility I couldn’t carry as a child.

Thank you Dr Kim, after all the counseling I've been through your the only one that explains what I am going through. I have been and still am avoiding people, sometimes its too hard to be around what I call drama. I even avoid the "friends" because I start feeling guilty when or if they try to help. Your mic works just fine. 😊

Idk why I feel a little triggered by this video. I feel anxious just listening to it. I definitely have an anxious or anxious/avoidant attachment style. I’ve started learning self mothering, but this is the first time I’ve heard of self fathering. But for SO many years, I’ve been an emotional hypocrite. I work with 2-3 year olds, I validate and teach them their emotions and work with them to manage their emotions, but until the last 2-3 weeks, I’ve been critical and harsh…honestly verbally abusive to myself. I’m 33 and JUST now learning to live on my own and how to care for and love myself.
