  • In this video, I show you how to make my decoupage paper napkin appliques. These appliques make it easier to decoupage onto round surfaces. I don't have to add a white base and they come out wrinkle-free. But the best part is I don't have to worry about the object color that I'll be decoupaging them onto, which allows for creative freedom. Next week I'll be showing all the bottles I made using my appliques. Hope you enjoyed your weekend! God bless!

2.) White Fabric ( Dollar Tree)

4.) Iron (High heat, no steam)
    5.) Parchment Paper
    A tiny bit about myself:
Hi, my name is Ivelisse. I've been artistic and creative my whole life. Unfortunately, it wasn't an easy one. I'm a survivor of many trials and tribulations. It caused me to develop serious mental health issues. I was self-medicating by using drugs and alcohol for over twenty years. On August 1st, 2014, I threw myself at the mercy of the Lord and prayed to God to save me. I asked God to forgive me for all my sins, and I forgave everyone who ever hurt me. I've been sober and clean ever since. Glory be to God! I started my walk with Christ along with my health and fitness Journey, and soon after, I found myself itching to get back to my passion, my art! But: I didn't just want to do it for myself. I wanted to share what God blessed me with and did for me and the joy He brings me to others. Not long after, I created my RUclips channel, DIY No Need To Cry! I took the bottles that were killing me and turned them into art. With each piece I make, I replace a bad memory and create new ones with all of you! Welcome to the crafty fam! God bless you all!

@@DIYNoNeedToCry Ty, I appreciate that, You know I’m so upset with myself when I ordered my napkins I wasn’t thinking there mostly white back round like say a bunch of butterflies with vines very pretty but I’m not so sure about how those will look with the appliqué method oh I’m mad. And then I came up with an idea for not having to paint the fabric how about doubling the fabric gluing the 2 together and go from there now Idk cause I just thought probably going to waste too much fabric but for the heck of it do you think it would work, Help me out with your thoughts about the darn white napkins do you think they will look icky on plain colored glass? I haven’t had a chance to do anything set up my craft room yesterday and cleaned a bunch of bottles you know how much fun that is Ok hope to hear from you. Ty

@Witchy Woman I'm so happy I finally got all my stuff set up, but it's so satisfying once you're done. Lol Okay, so let's see. For the napkin design, can you send me a picture of it on Instagram message so I can see it? And for the white backing, adding two pieces of fabric would probably look bulky. Unless you plan on adding puffy paint around it, in which case I don't see why it wouldn't work. I still find the paint to be the easiest solution, besides buying a more opaque white fabric, but I work with it a lot and might be biased. 😆 Once you send me a picture of your napkins and give me a general idea of what you want to achieve, hopefully, I'll be able to guide you better. 🙏🏽❤️

@@DIYNoNeedToCry I would but you know I don’t use instagram lol I’m old lady, I don’t even go on Facebook in years now and I had a hard time with that trying to post pictures and then it just was too much drama all around, it would be so much easier if we could post pictures right here. I suppose I’m just gonna have to figure it out for myself lol. And I wasn’t born with a phone in my hand like these kids my son bought me my iPhone threw it at me and said figure it out but I was bugging him all the time anyway ya you know I can’t even use a computer but I do alright with this phone and my iPad you know I was born in 64 😌 awful getting old is just terrible to deal with especially women. Ok enough of that but thanks 🙏 so much.

Could I use a old white pillow case or does the material matter, Because I would love to just apply to dark colors or plain dark bottles. Please help I’m new to the game and I ❤all of your ideas

Hello 👋 Any fabric will work. The idea is to add a backing to your paper napkin to create the appliques. That backing will replace the white base originally needed in order to decoupage onto a dark surface. I'm so happy I came up with these! They truly are a game changer! The only thing you have to decide is if you want to make your appliques with the fabric as is or add paint to it with matte white acrylic paint to make sure it's opaque enough. That's it! I just recently created these, and I can see a use for both ways, but I prefer the one with the white paint on the fabric best. If you've watched my recent video, you can see the difference between the two. If you choose to add the white matte acrylic paint, paint the fabric first. Let it completely dry, and then you can follow the steps to create the appliques. I hope this was helpful and if you are interested in learning the techniques I use, sign up for the email list by sending an email to craftyfamnotification@gmail.com , and you will receive bonus videos on my techniques. No intros, no fancy edits, simple, straight to the point shorts on a specific technique. 🙏🏼❤

I wonder if there's a way of doing this to put it on a wearable surface like say a t-shirt? I know that they make waterproof decoupage that you can use on like a glass and then put it in the dishwasher and I wonder if that would work on fabric? This method has just opened a whole door of possibilities❤

Yes, there is. I don't know the exact technique, but I know it's possible. I'm glad I could finally help! Lol Hope you're enjoying your weekend crafty queen 🙏🏼❤

@@DIYNoNeedToCry crafts have been put on hold. So is my life.
I'm staying with family in Florida because they wouldn't renew my lease in my apartment long story short trying to find a place to live is been difficult at best. People don't answer their phones anymore nor do they return phone calls when you do leave messages which I've left all over two different states trying to find an apartment. Finally found some place it's a new construction but it won't be ready till September and I have to move out of here in August. I don't know what I'm going to do for that month in between.

@@KCCAT5 I'm so sorry to hear that. I went through the same thing before getting my apartment. No one would get back to me. I was living out of my car and stayed at a friends house for a little bit. I had all my things in my parents garage. I completely understand and truly saddened by your situation, but at least you found a place and that's a blessing. Pray and trust in the Lord to see you through. I will keep you in my prayers. 🙏🏼❤

My dear, you can comment as much as you want. Lol I don't mind, I just might not always be able to get to it right away. As for adding the Mod Podge, it's to prevent wrinkles from forming, but let me know how it goes. 🤗

@@DIYNoNeedToCry Not to bad Ivalisse after I ironed it didn’t look as bad as I thought it would but the other look so much better and as you know most of my napkins have white back rounds so on that one it got a little yellowish look just on one spot but I will still use. Take care my friend.
