PAN PHOTOSHOP canvas with MIDDLE MOUSE BUTTON (Like every other program does)
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 13 окт 2024
- I'm finally learning how to use Photoshop (for thumbnails too)!!! First thing I noticed: there's no easy way to move things with MMB like every other program I use!! So here's a probably unnecessarily overcomplicated solution I came up with!
Download X-Mouse Button Control, which I use for this hack
x-mouse-button...
Feel free to let me know if there's a simpler way but in the meantime here's this lol if it works it works

2024 and this is still useful as adobe still hasn't bothered to have any kind of mouse configuration in their products.
Thx really helpful!
For the lazy idiots like me: {SPACE}{WAITMS:10}{MADD:3,3}{WAITMS:10}{LMB}
How did ANYONE think the "default" was acceptable. Also not zooming in and out with your middle mouse wheel is just INSANE haha man, thank you for this, from the bottom of my hearth! :3
I guess thanking someone from the ashes on your fire place is slightly less gross than thanking them with your blood pumping muscle...
Good job giving us a laugh!
When you’re looking
For that very specific video and this dude half your age uploads the perfect video that saves you. Bless you
Mang
Amazing. Thank you very much, man. It worked like a charm for my Photoshop CC. Just in case anybody wonders what the full code is:
{SPACE}{WAITMS:10}{MADD:3,3}{LMB}{WAITMS:10}
Still useful as hell 3 YEARS LATER. Thank you, fluffball.
My guy, thank you so much. We're very much alike-I'm a music producer; been using GIMP since I was 7 years old (I drew lightsabers over my LEGO Minifigures haha), but just transferred to Photoshop today after realizing I'd been putting up with GIMP's clunkiness for far too long. SUPER well-made vid! Straight to the point and, despite your name, little to no fluff.
Thanks a ton, from one DIY creative to another.
This .. this needs WAY more likes. Thank you so much!!
Search brought me here after I realized that Illustrator, After Effects and my 3D modeling package all do this by default. MUCH thanks!
You are a god.
Not thrilled about having to download a third party application for a feature that should be native to photoshop by now but I am thrilled with the results, great job 👍 step your game up, adobe
This is why I ended up ditching Adobe altogether lol even GIMP does this natively
@@davisdiercks I've heard great things about GIMP! Unfortunately Adobe has thoroughly sucked me into their ecosystem and I'm far too reliant on a number of their applications
This channel is so underrated
Thank you so much for this. Have been searching for this solution forever. You are such a lifesaver.
this was fun to watch
please never stop making videos!!!! Thank you!!
Haha...Excellent. Already had X-Mouse installed and running for Knife tool in Blender. Probably would have never crossed my mind to actually use it for more than one thing..derp! Very cool, Thank you!! 😄
I use it for everything, among other things it basically turns my forward/back mouse buttons into per-app assignable buttons. Sooooo useful across creative apps, tools, and even games
@@davisdiercks Yeah I bet! I'll no doubt be doing more with it too now that it's taking up a little more space on my brain's radar. 😃
Absolute life and timer saver. Thank you so much
Lifechanger. Thanks so much
this is a life changer lad, appreciate you.
Nice, I used an Autohotkey script to do this, but having it run when opening the program and close upon exiting is a bit tricky to set up (especially if you want to run it from the "Open with" dialog on files). I'll give your method a try.
EDIT: Yeah, your method is way more user-friendly. Only downside is that it has to run constantly in the background, but it consumes so little resources, it's not really a problem, and besides I think I can find uses for it in a lot of other programs - most programs don't do anything with MB4 and MB5 and they can be powerful hotkeys that improve workflow quite a bit. So thank you for showing me this program, I love it!
Yee! I've just recently got into AHK and there's definitely a lot it can do so I'll continue learning it, but sometimes XMB just can't be beat 😉 I have profiles for sooo many programs, particularly with the 2 extra forward/back mouse buttons (4 and 5) which are mapped to undo/redo, arrow keys, auto clicker, and various hotkeys all depending on the program.
@@davisdiercks Yeah, AHK is really powerful if you know what you're doing with it. I once coded mouselook controls for a poor console port that didn't have controls for it. It was janky, but it was working :D
Also, I made a minor modification to your script: {SPACE}{MADD:-1,-1}{WAITMS:10}{MADD:1,1}{LMB}
This way it moves the mouse the other way before moving it again, so your cursor doesn't move when middle-clicking. Not anything noticable, but I'm a perfectionist like that. And it works perfectly fine with a 1px movement, no need for 3 pixels.
WOW so good. keep it up
Thank you very much, it really helped!
This was incredible
YOU ARE A GAME CHANGER
Genius!!! Thx Fluffball!!
Thank you!! I teach 3D modeling and Adobe software to high school students and switching back and forth between all the applications has been so annoying.
I have been using photoshop and CAD for years. This is amazing!!! Thank you!
thanka man thats sick
My macros in Logitech G Hub (notice an Escape Button to stop the inertia):
On Middle Button Down:
- Escape Button Down
- Escape Button Up
- Space Button Down
On Middle Button Press:
- Left Button Down
On Middle Button Up:
- Left Button Up
- Space Button Up
- Escape Button Down
- Escape Button Up
You can remove the last two items if you select Edit > Preferences > Tools and uncheck "Enable Flick Panning".
Also, remove delays between the items.
Is it possible to do this for Logitech Options aswell ? (and not have to install any other 3rd party software) ?
Thx
Thank you!!
4:55 actually shows the complete useful feature
Could you post the exact line please? The one from comments didn't work. thanks
you are amazing my guy
Thank you so so so SO much-this makes my workflow SO much easier!!
Is there a way to change the rotation direction when using Fusion 360?
When using the Right Mouse button to rotate the view, if I make a clockwise circular motion, the model I am viewing rotates anticlockwise.
This feels super unnatural to me. Is there any way to change that behaviour?
Pleeeeeeeeease tell me it can be done.
Thanks again :)
Edit:
Fusion 360 > Preferences > General > Pan, Zoom, Orbit shortcuts: PowerMill
This makes the Middle Button the orbit button, and also "fixes" the orbit direction, but makes the rotation speed much slower. Suppose we can have it all :(
You can now use your mouse driver software (if it gives you the option), or X-Mouse Button Control, to swap the Middle and Right buttons on your mouse while using Fusion 360
Edit: Scratch all that. I still can't get it to work right. :(
Nice Man !
thank you
it works
This is amazing!! Good job, thank's a lot man..
Thanks for this!
Amazing!!!
is there a way to make it stop moving when you let go?
Many thanks for the guide, exactly what i need.
AWESOME .. this was driving me insane !!! i didn't have to use the {MADD} maybe because of my wireless mouse lag , but anyway thanks for explaining this
The fact that Adobe doesn't even have an option for mouse buttons is insane. I'm so over Adobe at this point.
You could put the text you put into X-mouse in the desription, would make life a million times easier.
But otherwise GREAT hack, works like a charm!
{Space}{WAITMS:10}{MADD:3,3}{LMB}
thank you!
Genius
this is amazing, I was getting so frustrated with other solutions. Thanks man great vid!
Thank you soo much!
I am not techy and even I could follow, thanks so much!!!
Thank you
nice content you deserve more subscribers
Thank you bro
Thanks 👍
very helphful
Thank You so much! This was sooooo helpful :)
You saved my life lmao
thank you!!!
OMG THANK YOUUUUU!!!!
Great video, but is that a Logitech mouse? Try their G-Hub, you can set up Macros there fairly easily.
Although I have to admit, I double checked there only after seeing your video ;D
Nope! It's a UtechSmart Venus MMO Gaming Mouse. I got it because it was fairly inexpensive and has a whopping 18 assignable buttons, so I use it for video editing, CAD, and much more. However, while its software has a lot of options for macros, it does fall a bit shy of what I ended up needing here. I've also been using X-Mouse Button since long before I got this mouse, so it was just the first thing that came to mind.
genius
{Space}{WAITMS:10}{MADD:3,3}{LMB}
Muchas gracias, and stay safe too!
Mí español es oxidado, pero yo entiendo tu comentario. ¡Bueno saber que tengo una audiencia diversa!
Glad you found it helpful amigo 😁
Thank you so very very much
nice... I did it on windows, but now on linux, it is not possible to install xmouse
I don't have much experience with Linux, but based on its reputation I'm sure there are plenty of ways to do it there!
i want to use shift key in my extra mouse button in photoshop using x mouse button control
Easy peasy, I have that mapping in a different program. Just do what I did here but in the bar where you type the keys, instead of everything I put, just put {SHIFT}
thanks
Dopeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Thank you! Sub, like, and comment for you ;)
just a thought, upload when you can, dont have a schedule on it but stick to it
Yeahhh that's the path I'll be taking for now, just whenever 😅 Good news is I'll finally be uploading another one (relatively) soon!
@@davisdiercks nice! also cant thank you enough for this hack of sorts recently gone from gimp to ps and was in 2 minds to go back to gimp for this feature alone
xmousebuttoncontrol is my shyt
space lmb? who thought of that lol
too bad you cant just program your Razor mouse would think with 20 buttons. dam but yes synapse is not program aware. or adobe could have allow more customization but nooooo
Yeah I'm using an off-brand mouse (UtechSmart) and for the most part it's awesome but doesn't provide quite as much programming flexibility as X-Mouse does. Really wish X-Mouse would support more than the traditional 5 buttons so I could use this to its full potential, but 🤷♂️ so it goes
i fucking hate photoshop, alt+mouse wheel to zoom, so glad I didn't grow up with that
I see a fellow electrical/computer engineer! And great content! It's too bad this doesn't quite translate to macOS. I've got my own PC build, but I don't like the adobe suite experience on windows, so I use my macbook for adobe work.
I'm putting my bets on this channel growing well. Subbed.
Thanks for making me smile 😊 been losing subs lately since I've been too busy to upload, so thanks for your support. I've been thinking about saving up for a MacBook of my own since I do a lot of electronic music stuff, maybe I'll make some new tips if that happens!
Fluffball The Wizard nice! Omg same here haha! Any particular sub genre? Do you have another channel or a soundcloud or Spotify to check out?
Not yet, but I hope to at some point! Some of the stuff I've done can be found on this channel, but mostly I play with others at school and church as well as just messing around on my own. Currently using a 1st gen iPad mini with GarageBand on iOS 7 to make songs and it is astronomically outdated and it shows 😂
Oh and for genre I usually do contemporary jazz; I particularly enjoy making complex syncopation and odd-meter time signatures. My intro music for these vids is an excerpt of one of the tunes I haven't quite finished yet called "Redemption", it's in 7/8
@@davisdiercks Nice! Super interesting stuff there. I do recommend jumping into a non-mobile daw if you wanna speed up your workflow. Even Garage Band for macOS is a big jump from that, but any of the big ones will do. I'm subbed so I'll surely be on the lookout for some more of your stuff :)
My own creative effort does not steer away from 4/4 haha but I love well executed more "jazz-based" music. This YT account is an alt one so you won't find any of it there, but lmk if you're interested ;)
Feel free to send me a DM when "Redemption" gets done! And I'm not sure if you need this tip, but it certainly helps me: Done is better than perfect! So don't get all bogged down on the details all that much.
Never stop creating!
Sadly not working in 2023 😤
Huh.. What changed? I got rid of my CC subscription a few years ago and have been using GIMP instead so I'm out of the Adobe loop
Could either be the way x-mouse applies it & Adobe no longer understands it anymore or that the way Adobe reads an input like this has changed, no matter how I tweak it, if the action is applied, it's either forcing a constant hand tool or once I click MMB it becomes a hand tool & cannot unbecome a hand tool 😆
I am also very much not an Adobe fan, their functions are all hidden too deeply in overcomplicated menus or impossible to remember once they either move it or change how it (any given function) is coded...
I agree, GIMP seems like an obvious move & one I think I'm going to have to make sooner rather than later 🤷🏻♂️
@@Noi3eOfficial Still works fine here, even with my faster settings/smaller "jump". {SPACE}{WAITMS:5}{MADD:1,1}{LMB}{WAITMS:5}
Great hack this, another lovely tool to have. Finally can get Adobe ID/AI/PS and Autodesk to work more alike!
