I have an important advice for you. Use marker paper instead of watercolorpaper, because watercolor paper is supposed to hold a lot of water and will just suck your pens dry. On marker paper, the ink stays wet for longer and blends better
Thank you so much!!
Yes I forgot to add that in my comment! The marker paper is nice.
From what i know, this is a double edged sword. Marker paper heavily limits how many layers you can do. So much so that some artists prefer other paper
This!! I’ve tried COPIC marker paper and found it too like smooth?? And tried canson mixed media and ofc it completely drained my markers, I’ve found that the ohuhu marker pads ( I have the spiral bound) work great for me because it’s smoother than the mixed media one but not completely smooth
I like to use the ohuhu marker sketch book I tried mixed media too but the friction lessen the life span of the nibs and blending feels better with marker paper at least for me due to smooth paper
Just an FYI, in case anyone wanted an easier way to swatch. Ohuhu markers come with swatch cards and have the numbers already printed under each square. They are tucked inside behind the markers so they can be easily missed. I love your beautiful portraits. They always leave me feeling so inspired to create more art! Thank you for using markers in your nornal process as well because that is my main medium, and I have always wanted to see how you would incorporate them. 😍❤
you’re literally so talented omg
I've been using ohuho for the years, i moved to digital last year after the newness wore off i slowly realized that on one hand i had more really cool finished peices i also had 3x more unfinished and deleted pieces. Digital is competitive and fun, but i really miss when i put down lineart and my hand slipped and then i had to find out how to save it 😂 and i miss holding my art (ohuho also smells really nice in my opinion lol) here's to coming back home ❤ this video has given me insight into techniques i hadn't thought of before!
OMG! I was so tthrilled to see Ohuhu Markers in your title today, Such amazing work you do with everything you touch. I could sit for hours and watch you make art! But especially thrilled that this was done with Ohuhu brand markers as I also have the very same sets you do and have been trying to find other artists on You Tube that have made proffessional looking art with them and have not found very many good ones that I personally liked until today! Yay! You rock! I can't wait to see you do more work with these. Have a wonderful week. Namaste!
Ahhhhhh thank you so much, that means a lot to me!! 😍
Thank you for exposing us to Ohuhu markers. I look forward to trying them in the future. Your work is stunning and inspirational. Many thanks.❤
I really love this piece. It’s so nice to look at.
such nice result, this video gave me the vibes of these kind of videos I watched when I was a kid and made me feel like drawing
Awww, thank you so much!!!
Super impressive!!!! I love using alcohol markers because of their intensity. This piece of artwork turned out beautiful❤
Thank you! ❤️❤️❤️
Good work. I think it is important to have such organization before getting down to doing fine art.🧑🎨♾️🙂
I was just looking into this brand, so happy you made a video about them!
You are just talented all around.
Wow you’re an amazing artist, love mixed media
I would suggest u get the 48 colour set ohuhu brush pen set first along with the skin colour markers as they r the ones which helped me a lot to draw faces
I am working on a portrait and keep going back and forth about using my Ohuhu markers or just my colored pencils. You are inspiring me to use both. Thank you!!!❤️✨
Hello again, I appreciate how much feedback/ response/ care and attention you give to people's comments 😊 I've been working with markers a lot when I teach anime. I still have a lot to learn! One thing that does work for me to create smooth transitions it to lay the darker tones in first. After you can use your lightest tone to go over all of it and it'll blend everything together and won't make the dark colors lighter. Also, I haven't used one yet, but I think there's a marker that's called colorless blender. Not sure if it changes the color or fade the color, but definitely worth a try! I'll have to try this one out on your patreon! 😀 have a great day!
This girl you drew looks like my mother , so beautiful 😍
amazing work!!great skin tones with the markers😃
At 6:02 where you’re worried you ruined your painting because of the lighter marker, is that the colourless blender your using? I have found when using this marker on top of colours I’ve already put down it almost removes the ink. Which is cool if you are trying to remove something 😂 but I think as a blender it’s better to add it to the paper first like adding clean water when using watercolour (although obviously not the same flow) but also yes, markers will work better on a marker paper as watercolour paper will absorb the ink, which will make it more difficult to blend and also the markers will run out quicker. Maybe a nice thick smooth Bristol paper will work? You should still be able to use some of your mixed media techniques on it with your new markers. Great video and beautiful artwork as always ❤
Yes! I used the color less blender there! And like you said, It did almost remove the ink! I will use it next time first and see if it works better then 😅 and i agree, i should be able to use bristol Paper with mixed media as well! ☺️
@@LiobaBrueckner I hope it works for you 😊 new mediums are fun but there’s always that learning curve but of course your artwork still turned out amazing anyway!
This is stunning. I am just starting to use markers and I thank you for this video. So inspired! 🙌🏻
This is such a great painting!
Stunning
I swear there is literally NOTHING you can't do!
Aww! 🙈
Yupp she was just tracing it 😂😂😂
@@redqwetracing something she drew yeah😛.
The piece looks stunning 😍
Thank you!!!
Astounding artwork as always, such talent 💜💜💜
Beautiful portrait, Lioba!
Turned out so amazing, also the blending! 😍
Thank you so much!!
Beautiful picture 😮. I sometimes sell my original pictures so using alcohol markers wouldn’t be a good idea for me as they are not lightfast. But you can sell prints of your original art work. 🤔
Very nice and beautiful video, and so wonderful portrait😍😍
Thank you!!
Ohuhus are amazing markers in my experience, and I use them for Inktober! XD
omg so beutifull, love you art work ❤
Amazing skills! try marker paper or bristol paper. The watercolor paper absorbs alcohol but we need it to stay on top to blend them.
Thank you for the tip!! :D
😢😢😭its sooo good!!
2:28 I think there are swatch cards included in ohuhu marker sets, but maybe that doesn’t apply to all sets? Either way the swatch cards do not have the colours organized like you did.
You are amazing!!
Has anyone tried portraits like this with water-based markers, such as the Tombow ABT markers?
I'm wondering if the ink will run if I used the markers to outline a drawing then used watercolour paint to fill in?
Didn't happen to me!
Is this already on your Patreon?
Not yet, but will be next week! 💪💪💪
@@LiobaBruecknerOk Thank you, than I wait😊She is sooooo gorgeous!
Hi - I was looking at your Patreon channel today and I had a question, but I don't see a way to contact you through there to ask. I was told that if you join near the end of the month that it will charge the monthly fee again on the 1st. Is that right? If I join on the 21st, will it renew on the 21st next month? Thanks.
Hi Jeff! Patreon changed their payment cycles so that we can now offer our patrons a real monthly payment, so whenever you join, you will only be charged one month later! :D Btw you can always contact me via my website at www.lioba.info! ^^
@@LiobaBrueckner Thank you! That previous policy was ridiculous and I think it really hurt creators because people (like me) would not become a patron during the latter part of the month and then forget to return at the beginning.
so nice ❤️
Where can I buy your coloring books?
They are currently unavailable, I am sorry!
Will you be selling them again?
Have you tried canson colorline paper for colored pencils or alcohol markers? Nice work
I haven't!!! Thanks for the tip!
Can i buy single ones if i finish them ?
yes, you can. they sell them on the ohuhu website :)
This piece of art is amazing!!! I tried Ohuhu markers a while back and Unfortunately the skin tones, which Used most, dried out quickly.
Oh no! :( I think we have to store them carefully to avoid them drying out! 🥺
I think the pale colours run out or perhaps dry out quicker because there’s more alcohol in them, I had a pale blue run out after just one artwork…
They have refills now!!
saw the thumbnail and then markers in the title and thought wtf!! that’s insane
Thank you!!!! :D
Thank you for this video, it tells ny own thaughts about plant market 🤣Maybe you should wait for more mature leaves, maybe some of the forms do not really exist and bring the sellers sone more money (I think so). Nevertheless, there is a difference between "normal" Gloriosum and Dark Form. There are also some with whiter secondary veinings, wich are sometimes selled as "white veins", sometimes as "dark form" and sometimes as "Zebra" here in Europe. Most Zebras here in Europe have rounder leaves and overlapping "ears". There is also a 'Zebra Pink Back', which has brighter fresh green, round leaves with narrow or overlapping ears and bright white veins - and the new leaves have pink backs. Genetics may vary from seller to seller, too. Maybe we should all enjoy the beauty of all of these leaves at first. I bought mine for ten bugs each as smaller plants and I am happy to see them grow.
This is probably not the video you wanted to comment on lol!
is she damn knowledgeable subbed definitly
Didn’t the pack come with the card to draw the colours on ? They’re supposed to have it. Mine did. Was smaller but I had it. Plus it came with a sheet to protect the pages under the one you’re using too. Also I heard the brush tip is easiest to use... haven’t used it yet.
Ha I wish I could be sent this pack though... I got the small one. I don’t have enough skills for an art channel, I’d also wanna be a gamer channel... but no equipment for either lol
It did come with both of these things, but i found it easier to make my Owen color card. 😅
@@LiobaBrueckner ok np. Just wanted to make sure it wasn’t left out and you knew about them 👍🏻 since you mentioned it was your first set or markers.
@@LiobaBrueckner I like your art btw:)

As a marker artist the ohuhu blending markers are bad. Instead I use the lightest color I'm using in the art peice.
do not use watercolour paper with markers it dry's them out quicker
Honestly, Copic Markers are HIGHLY overrated. Copic became famous as the standard because it was the first on the market and reigned for a long time until the past few years. Now there are markers that not only are contenders but are equal and surpass Copic for less. I'll tell anyone, that an object's worth is not always indicated by its price. It's the basic foundation we're taught in business, if you want the public to see your product/work as valuable charge a high-end price. It doesn't mean the price is equal to its true value.
