I have heard that the colorless blender needs to be applied to the page before you add the colors you want to blend over them. Probably to wet the paper with alcohol and allowing the two colors to bleed into each other.

Omg! I've never heard that, I definitely need to try that out! 🤯

@@LiobaBrueckneryeah, the colorless blender is best used to wet and prep the paper for blending two other colors, the same way you wet watercolor paper first with clear water before applying color.

From someone who used to use markers ALLL the time. You CAN go light to dark, but you must saturate your paper thoroughly either with the lightest colour, or with the blender. You must use the correct paper for markers (it has a waxy back). You can blend easier over damp paper than dry. I don't have any videos on it unfortunately as I've not used markers for a while (they were all the rage about 10-15 years ago) but I may get some back out and make a video on it if it would help anyone.

Gorgeous work as always Lioba and I love Kiki’s delivery Service, such a beautiful movie! I think you would have a better time blending on a marker or Bristol paper as watercolour paper just absorbs the ink too much, you also go through your ink much quicker too. On a Bristol you’d still be able to add your gouache and coloured pencils 😊 once again you make me want to get my markers out and get creative! Thanks for be your amazing, inspiring self 😊

Awe! As always, thank you so much for your kind words and the helpful tips, Emily! I also noticed that the watercolor paper sucks the ink out of the markers very quickly - I really need to stock up on paper! XD

Those are all very helpful tips especially for people who are new to markers, personally I prefer to use my colorless blender to lift colors and fix mistakes, not that the way you use it is wrong it's just my personal preference 😊
I adore your take on kiki! She turned out so gorgeous! And I loove to work with watercolor over markers, I usually love to color the skin with markers and then play with the watercolor effects for the hair and background 🥰

No disrespect to the artist but is she a "pro" in alcohol markers? Her first alcohol marker video is tittled "Paint like a pro" while she doesn’t even watch other reviewer to know that there’s a swatch sheet in the pack. Personally,I think It’s a problem when everyone consider themselves as "pro" in everything since for most part they don’t know what they talk about and thus they share with people inaccurate information.

Unfortunately I have to choose titles that work with the RUclips Algorythm, I wish I wouldn't have to but it's just something youtube content creators have to do.

I’ve found that blending is very difficult whenever I use these markers on any of the watercolor paper brands I have. None of them are extremely high end or made of 100% cotton so I’m not sure if this would make a difference.
