- You awake, shipwrecked upon a desolate shore, alone with naught but your wits and skills to keep yourself alive. You'll need to build shelter, explore the secrets of the island of Masartus, and build a raft to make your way to civilization.
So begins today's Mod of the Day, for today we're showcasing AshFall Survival Start by JosephMcKean, an alternate start mod designed to be used with AshFall, Morrowind's premier camping and survival needs mod.
Masartus is an inhospitable place, and this will prove to be a challenging way to start the game, but AshFall Survival Start makes excellent use of AshFall's survival mechanics to provide an engaging and potentially enjoyable experience. If that's something that you're looking for, you may well want to check it out for yourself!

Wow, love the idea of clearing away rocks. That could make for some very interesting hidden dungeon tunnels and such.

Love the idea of this. Reminds me of the old Minecraft min-max survival maps. It feels like it could be an effective boot camp to learn the survival mechanics when unaccustomed, and it's a congruous alternate start -- the boat just never managed to arrive in Seyda Neen.
Missed oppurtunity to mention it pairs really well with Ultimate Fishing mod. Still, great mod, really nicely done!
I'll have to check out the ultimate fishing. I'm using a really old fishing mod lol
This looks neat! I’m not a huge fan of survival mechanics, but this is tempting me to give it a try in my next playthrough.

@@claynorwood9723 Yeah,AshFall is MWSE Dependent.
MWSE and OpenMW are incompatible.
Another commenter suggests playing both versions openMW and another file for the mswe game

And MWSE Doesn't have a multiplayer mod.

To all the OpenMw players complaining this isn't compatible: just make a separate MWSE/MGE install! There's no reason you can't do both and there are so many great MWSE Lua mods you're missing out on.

This is a fair comment, I'm a big fan of OpenMW but there is no reason not to try this 👍

Really cool mod! Reminds me of the survival mods from tes5. Can you utilize resources and craft things from anywhere in the world with this mod? Or can you only do these things with the environment on the island?
Well, this showcase is actually for an add-on mod, all those features, utilizing resources, crafting things, survival elements, that's all from AshFall - A Camping Survival Mod by Merlord. And yes, you can utilize resources and craft objects anywhere in the game-world with that mod.
