Love anything on the Autolite 1100/1101 and the I6! Just finished rebuilding my I6 including a carb rebuild. Mike's carburetor was a big help for the kit, instructions, and videos.
When you said 'go dump this out' I was just screaming internally "THE CHECK BALL!"

That power valve is actually what is called a spark control valve it doesn’t do anything with powering up the carb, but rather everything to do with helping the distributor.
    Excellent video as always 👍👍👍

I've always felt it was ingenious the way Ford used that spring steel bracket to simultaneously secure the choke thermostat, the heater hose, and heat the choke at the same time. Cheap, dead simple, and works very well.

Jeff, I know it was very hard, not to just grab that carb right out of his hands !! Thanks 🙏 for letting Jackson get some hands on time.. 😁 I was so thrilled to watch him, experience this right of passage!!! That check ball could of dropped right in oil dump bucket !!! My 1st solo carb maintenance task, went sideways, right off, on my Mom's 75 Maverick, 250 inline, when I was like 12 yrs old. I cross threaded the fuel filter right out of the gate 😨!!!... After freaking out 😲 for a minute, I was able to get it straight threaded back in though.
Can't wait for the next segment.. Jackson, I'm pulling for you here.. Looking forward to you getting it back on the car, for the start up video 📸!!! Take care gents...

It is tough, I want to take over and do it all but I know he will learn so much better by doing! Thanks for the kind words!

This video series has been more than helpful. After acquiring my grandmother’s mustang 2 years ago I have been craving accurate videos for the Autolite 1100. Looking forward to future videos especially on how to tune and adjust the 1100.

Go Jackson, you are curious enough to get it done, been around you enough to know that,
tear it down, check it out, clean it, put it back together, set it up, on to the next project.

The 63 Fairlane we have has the manual choke option instead of the automatic. Also we have a 3 on the tree behind our 170.

Those choke screws had me nervous there for a minute. 😅 I recently some how fumbled my extra edelbrock carb looking for something else and broke the choke housing, I may or maynot have said some ugly words.

Jackson going to take it apart as you take it away and start doing it 😂 great video as always. Jackson seems more interested in the mechanical than Logan, is that the case? Just curious.

That shaft might have something to do with the choke. I know my 2100 had an arm that went to a diaphragm that was part of the choke system.

I believe that carb should have had 4 check balls and a weight, Im guessing the 3 balls and the weight are in that 5 gallon bucket

LOL no they weren't. We got lucky and had the other carburetor that we were able to pull the balls from.

Of course! Carburetor, fuel injection, transmissions, anything...that's how we (humans) learn.
