An Imperial barbarian, a Dunmer battlemage, a Bosmer archer, a Breton necromancer, and a Nord Jarl hang out in the Palace of Kings ready to belt out a classic. Geoff is an Imperial Barbarian, Cesar a Dunmer (dark elf) Battlemage, Omar a Bosmer (wood elf) Archer, Eli a Breton Necromancer, and Layne a Nord Jarl. They are singing in Dovahzul ("Dragon-Voice"), the Dragon Language or Dragonish. All from the game Skyrim.
Yeah, this is kinda a mashup of two songs from Skyrim. The Dragonborn Comes and then the Title Theme from Skyrim. The language was the Dovahzul "Dragon Voice" language in Skyrim.
Just to catch you up: The Voice Play Group currently consists of four men, (usually five, but their baritone, J.None, has gone to be with the Navy for a few years, as one of the featured singers in the Navy Band). He comes home to Orlando, (their home base), as often as possible on leave, and adds enormously to their sound. You can see and hear him as the center lead singer (in the red coat), in the new "In The Air Tonight" cover... In the meantime, they have guests, such as Omar Cordona, who fill in very well, in most of their songs. They are not sponsored, but do all the work themselves, out of a studio that one of the members, their amazing beatboxer and baritone Layne Stein, is partial owner. They do all the work themselves, Ellie (Elieazer Jacobson, tenor) doing the lighting, etc...Ellie is the smaller guy, bald, with sometimes a goatee, and sometimes clean shaven...can hit some very high notes, with a rocker voice! The others are the deep bass, Geoff (Jeff) Castellucci, who does a lot of the music arrangements, and blows minds on a regular basis with his deeeeeeeep sounds! The newest member, the wild, bushytop-haired Caesar de la Rosa, also a baritone-tenor, with a velvet (and high!) voice...who has just been signed up for another 1 1/2 years with them...everyone loves Caesar! They usually put out two covers a month, and have a HUGE international following and Patreon list... As to the Dragonborn song, yes, the original members, (minus several who have moved on), all were in high school together in Orlando, and often played Skyrim while on the road traveling around the area, singing and getting known. Now they have an international online audience, justifiably so, because they are so meticulous in their attention to the details...like re-learning some of the Dragonborn language from the game, that they were singing in this song...They are renowned for their costumes, sets, and overall atmosphere that they produce with every song...They are so good, that I honestly can't remember a single song they've done that I didn't like, and quite a number that I simply LOVE...and just can't choose a favorite from. (But DON"T MISS their rendition of Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters"...it's been mentioned for a Grammy)...They just get better and better... Warning...it's a very deep rabbithole you are about to fall down...once in, you won't want to get out!
I’m not sure they ALL have played Skyrim unless it was mentioned when this came out? It was Halo that the original group used to play together after rehearsals and on tour. I certainly echo your sentiment that they keep getting better and better. It hardly seems possible and yet they shown it for months now! Subscribing in hopes of following this reaction rabbit hole!
Good reaction.😊 They also did Halo from the video game. It's a tribute to a good friend that passed away. Watch it all the way through. Their guest was an original member of their group and he speaks at the end about their friend.
No one wants it to end. We can really appreciate Cesar's dedication of actually wearing real chainmail 😮, that stuff is heavy and he had to lay down between takes I love not only did they sing in the Dragon language but their diction is so clear you can actually tell what they are saying.😊
Dragonborn Comes is so much more than you would expect in a video game. Go for the Halo theme, watch all the way through and you will see VoicePlay back when they were in high school and learn more about them. Geoff hits B0 subharmonic twice in this one. One you should see soon is In the Hall of the Mountain King where VP singers are trolls. It's music by Edvard Grieg from 1875 no spoken lyrics but strangely enough you don't need them. It is pure magic.
Apparently Geoff is a huge D&D fan. Idk if he still plays but he did. Also, these group has given me at least tattoo ideas. My maiden name was Olson so i wanna get Valhalla tattooed on my left inner bicep and Valkyrie on my right inner bicep. Then i wanna get Fus Ro Dah (I know i spelled that wrong, my apologies) for what it means

Ohhh okay. Now I feel so dumb not knowing. I have never made it very far in Skyrim and I will now have to fully play that game.

Nothing else matters is one that I want to play and react to. I do love that song from Metalica.
It's the Dragon language from the game. FUS RO DAH is the dragon shout of power.
I am writing this down.
Excellent reaction! This is my favorite song ever - I love it so much!! Especially since I love Skyrim. Thanks for reacting to it!

I agree and that is what I enjoyed. This makes me want to pick up Skyrim again and give it a full shot.

Song title is "The Dragonborn Comes", not "Dragonborn Comes to Skyrim". The song is in the Skyrim games, not part of the title.
Oh I thought it was part. Sorry about that. It makes more sense now LOL.
