With a little Gallic assistance, Vauxhall has rejuvenated its Corsa supermini to make sure it stays relevant to buyers in this crowded market. Jonathan Crouch takes a look.
Ten Second Review
Time, perhaps, to change the way you feel about Vauxhall's Corsa. This fifth generation version has been a huge sales success for the brand, frequently the UK's best selling car. But it needed a bit more showroom appeal, hence the importance of this mid-term update, which brings the front end look into line with the brand's other models and introduces some new electrified drivetrain tech for both combustion and EV variants.
Background
The 'F' generation of Vauxhall's Corsa, introduced in 2019, has proved to be a bit of a surprise hit for the Stellantis Group in the UK, frequently the nation's best seller. Which must be gratifying for that parent conglomerate because the costs of developing it weren't too huge, pretty much all the engineering shared with the current Peugeot 208 (as well as with the DS 3), both those French models sharing this Vauxhall's CMP platform.
Here, we're looking at the facelifted version of this current Corsa (actually the sixth generation Corsa for Opel but the fifth generation for Vauxhall). This update arrived in mid-2023 and aims to keep this supermini at the head of the sales charts. Let's take a closer look.

I have the 2020 model and i must say the front looks much better than this new facelift. Also i get the 130hp/230Nm 8AT for 19,200 € back then. This new prices are ridiculous.
Good review , as usual.
Thank you!
Mmm probably a Dacia for me now - this is still to expensive- the new lpg/petrol - about 800 mile range - and about 5k less - that will do me …
Just another Stellantis clone AKA Peugeot 208/Citroen c3. Starting price of 20k for a basic 3 cylinder 75ps version. Too expensive. A very slightly smaller Suzuki Swift is a far better bet (starting price £17k) due to its 4 cylinder 83ps engine, and superior reliability.
I can get a 208 for 19k the base version with a 100ps engine since peugeot makes a better looking car and doe give discounts, anyway I ended up getting skoda fabia mk4 style with black metallic 110 tsi 6 speed manual for 20.5k
wet belts are a problem ( cracking), just had mine done after 39000 £650 which is £200 than vauxhall,
Right now the lowest trim is the edition pack and it come at 20.400 euro for 75hp 5 gear manual 😂
A great looking car. But my next car will be a Combo Life Electric with the Wheelhome Vikenze III camper conversion.
Have to admit this design is such a step backwards from the pre 2019 model, no heated windscreen, the steering wheel looks dated as does the interior trim. £29k for a top spec model which 5 years ago would max out at £22k.
2024, where a Corsa is the size of a minibus.
Dull and overpriced, sounds like a biscuit tin on the road, used market Is far more interesting. Looks ugly with the black visor.
PSA is worth it only for used diesel, then if you go for new yaris is a good choice and same goes for vag group (Skoda and Seat)
no diesel puts meoff wont be on my shopping list
Wait till you find out that it doesn’t have steam engine as well
Zzzzz
