He was verbose. However he could have simplified things by saying he was breaking apart the larger numbers to lowest terms ( in order to find one/one ratios to cross out) because they always equal one

FACTS!!! Its always been "just do this", never "here's why you need to do this" "and this means that" or "in any given situation the idea is that"
