At the same stage when the first time "Vision 2020" aspiration was announced.
AI is fairly new technology even to developed nations. Trying to integrate in our life and business takes a lot of effort and step. Why bring in Vision 2020 argument? When Vision 2020 was started in the 90s AI dont exist yet. Now you have to start early in technology and not playing catching up. Why Malaysia shouldnt take this challenge? Gen Z and Gen Alpha has nothing to do with failur of Vision 2020. But life still has to go on.

Malaysia was one of the Asian Tigers in the 80s and early nineties. It was the darling of semiconductor companies especially in Penang with a very hardworking and educated workforce. However, this ended when the government got taken away by its success and came up with too centric based regulations that killed foreign investments. If the present governmetn can come up with sensible investment policies and get its political act together, I still believe Malaysia can still regain part of its former glory!
The rise of China and the Asian financial crisis 1997/98 severely hampered Malaysia progress afterwards. Regulations are not the problem. It can be proven by looking at Malaysia's position in Ease of Doing Business Index. Malaysia's rank is on 12th position in the world. The main problem that I see is low investment on R&D. Malaysia is too dependent on FDI but little technology transfer. Malaysia need to move up to a more value added chain.
It's no surprise Mr. Prime Minister is also A.I. himself so this is befitting. More concern is can Malaysia contain and monitor artificial intelligence.

@shamshulanuar7718 Oh man, AI isn’t some shiny new thing that just popped out of a vending machine last week! It’s been around since long before you learned how to walk, my friend. While you were still busy crawling around, tripping over your toys, AI was already figuring out how to beat humans in chess and predict the weather! 😂 But hey, Malaysia is still in its “baby steps” phase when it comes to AI. We’re talking about the kind of baby steps where you’re still holding on to the furniture, trying not to fall flat. Meanwhile, other countries are out there sprinting like Usain Bolt in the AI Olympics! We’ve got the talent, but it’s like having a Ferrari engine in a Proton Saga - great potential, just not the right environment to let it zoom yet! Let’s hope we outgrow the diapers soon. 😜 0:02
As an American, I totally agree! There is such a large partisan divide in my country, and it's actually causing social stability to stagnate or even disappear.
The timing of this report is just too perfect. On Monday, US tech stocks fell massively as investors began to wisen up to the fact that AI is an overhyped bubble. The entire report omits the Achilles heel of AI: the massive cost of running these AI algorithms. People think that using AI to replace workers will save them money until they look at that massive compute bill. Also, AI is extremely limited in the things it can do. AI is really good at recognizing and replicating patterns if there is human data collected for those patterns, but AI cannot effectively reason/make logical inferences or deductions. In other words, AI is not AI: there is no intelligence involved in these foundation models. I find it funny that Malaysia is perpetually chasing the coat tails of Western countries. Not everything that the mat salleh is trying to sell you is gold. They may very well just be trying to pump up their stock prices only.
Absolutely! AI is a powerhouse of human knowledge and experience, ready for users to harness and unleash. It's a tool that can revolutionize industries, but without the proper expertise to wield it effectively, it's just another run-of-the-mill software. Don't let this incredible technology go to waste - educate yourself and make the most of its potential!
The very tech you're using now, is run by AI. The algorithm that pushes this video clip to you is computed by artificial intelligence. BTW, the stock market wipe out is largely connected to Japan raising its interest rate.

But some how, when you combine all these different factors together, Malaysia hit the sweat spot among ASEAN nations, sitting in the "Goldilocks zone".
Perfect place for setting up sandboxes.
You just relax for a while it will be improve for a minute
Political ambitious dream, using only their own "artificial intelligence" brain. No solid plan, strategies will be developed to achieve that. If we are truly good at make thing done, Malaysia already became highly develop country, according to "Vision 2020". At where we now? At the same stage when the first time "Vision 2020" aspiration was announced.
AI is fairly new technology even to developed nations. Trying to integrate in our life and business takes a lot of effort and step. Why bring in Vision 2020 argument? When Vision 2020 was started in the 90s AI dont exist yet. Now you have to start early in technology and not playing catching up. Why Malaysia shouldnt take this challenge? Gen Z and Gen Alpha has nothing to do with failur of Vision 2020. But life still has to go on.
That was then. This is nkw. 2 sets of different circumstances n 2 sets of ppl. R u getting urself confused by putting sins of ur forefathers on the shoulders of others? Why not just own up to ur the previous government's shortcomings n call a spade a spade instead of twisting n turning , trying to pass the blame onto others?
wawasan 2020 was atok, who was busy making his kids billionaires not the country. take it up with him
We will see how. History will repeat again. Only the government changed, but not the execution parties, head of departments.
OTW is not on the bed anymore. Sleeping in the car otw to destination. hahahahah
If the headline is Malaysia is focussed or serious about AI we can believe.Rhetorics like,'hub' and now 'powerhouse' !
As a engineer i can see that malaysia lck of technical knowledge talent. But full of power point engineers who tall the talk not walk the talk.. this whats makes us lack behind other nations
No, the problem is Malaysian employers don't know how to tell a gem from trash!
What happened to the multimedia super corridor?
Now become the data centre hub and AI research centre 😅
Why dont u ask mahathir? Is the current govt under mahathir?. Btw, chk out cyberjaya n the companies based there. U might b pkesantly surprised. Dont shout before u fact chk anything.
DARPA’s AI is probably 30 years ahead of anything the public has access to.
With AI and M'sia 🇲🇾 Big ambitious under Madani government can she rise again to become an Asian Tiger 🐯 under ambitious PM Anwar @ PMX???
👍👍👍
Malaysia Boleh!
Human mind will slow down, in terms of planning, judgement, inteligent, lazyness, reasoning, redundant, etc.... due to depend solely on AI on their daily actvities and livelihood. Brain not put into use will get rusty sooner or later. And physicality also become mundane, because AI robotic is doing all the works and chores for us. Body and mind will be affected simultaneously. 🤔
soon AI helped me to write hospital assessment report to every patient i see.
sometimes when we are shorthand staff and too busy...
AI should play a roll here.
*Alhambra semakin membaik Malaysia MADANI Kita insyaAllah Ayuh Rakyat Malaysia bersama Membina Semula Malaysia Kita bersama insyaAllah 👍💪🇲🇾💖♥️💙🧡🇲🇾💪👍*
Good move Malaysia. 😍👍
Yes!
Malaysia 🇲🇾 is Good to go with the AI Public Services.
Go Malaysia 👍
It's no surprise Mr. Prime Minister is also A.I. himself so this is befitting. More concern is can Malaysia contain and monitor artificial intelligence.
With the quality of education there. Good luck trying to compete with Singapore ! Then there is also the pull factor here ! Haha we will lure all talents over.
shouf learn A.I things for secure our future job...
It’s the future , true we need to go for it if not we will be left behind
I wish KTM OR RAPIDKL convert ke AI. Daripada baca peta laluan di tepi dinding ,Lagi canggih just scan barcode then al then information train..time rate laluan semua keluar di HP. harap2 Ceo rapid kl baca nie...hmmm
I thought there were already transit directions in popular map apps like Google Maps or something...
I have been using Google Maps for transit directions for a decade; it gave me necessary skills to navigate Japan when I started visiting regularly in 2017 (with a large hiatus between 2020 and 2022 due to travel restrictions).
Eh hello, kan rapid kl ade mobile app PULSE?Ko ni ketinggalan zaman ke?
before u knew it, a group of people also working tirelessly to bring in RI ( religion intelligent)
.which now getting alot of traction....that will set msia back to stone age....
Sad day for malaysia
True. Those people aren't that smart and don't care about technology.
this stereotype has been going on for decades, and ironically here we are aiming to be AI powerhouse in ASEAN. Maybe you should go out and touch some grass, mingle with more people outside your race/faith.
@sitifatihah3009 lol..said someone whose religion prohibited to understand other people religion including visiting other religion house of workship, wishing other merry christmas and even cristmas word on cake consider apostle by state....
so please dont stereotype yourself, and dont insult the word stereotype if you dont have a freedom to understand other people religion...
religion of all need to gain respect and not a one way street...u can always demand people to understand your religion but how about you??
if yes, there will be no GISB and many more havent been surface yet lingering in the background that will derail the advancement of the country. You can always in the state of denial as many great empire fell also due to state of denial...and start running down on people who dont agree with your world view.
Singaporeans be careful , maybe we are going there to be labourers soon … 1 MYR = 0.3 SGD 😅
If you are going to increase the price groceries in supermarkets just so you could cover the cost of implementing AI than theres no reason to is it ?
Says who they're doing that? Hv u been reading alternative news with misinformation?
I'm fine with AI in general. But once they touch art, I'm gonna fight.
AI art is everywhere you look now.
It has even been used in activism, which begs the question: how quickly can AI art be used to spread misinformation and disinformation?
Fight until when actually, it will only keep expanding & growing until those who don't adapt & assimilate will slowly become irrelevant.
lmao, AI literally makes the arts you enjoy, movies and music are reliant on AI to streamline the production process
singapore playing catch up .. next time singaporeans working in Malaysia . Like what the Chinese Malaysian politician said 😂
I believe Nga Kor Ming said that some time back. He was responsible for the development of Teluk Intan and just look how progressive this once sleepy town is.
The Malaysians who said that are dreaming lolol.
@@al16899anything can happen bro
I'm Malaysian and haven't going for shopping about 2 years time...I'm ordering everything online
The only worthy AI example in Malaysia is Intel's lights-out semicon factory at Batu Kawan, Penang
A long way to go..... perhaps a dream.... reasons
1. Lower level of education esp science and mathematics in school . In china AI programming is introduced in primary school.
2. Good student with A in science and mathematics not give a chance to develop and ignore and many force to do arts and business courses
3. Very few stem graduate...local universities are not equipped with ecosystem to offer AI courses.
4. Good student n graduate goes outseas to work ..better paid... prospect
5. Effort to bring back good workers..skill failed.,.as not groom when they are young and when need help....abandon..
Look at china and see how they create AI with good ecosystem....so innovative, advance and the best students provide ecosystem to develop.. because they are going to compete with best of the best in the world..
That you and your China.. totally nothing to do with us.. Just go sit at china and stfu..
The video is very boring. I thought I would find out why Malaysia would become a hub for AI but it turned out to be all rhetoric 👎. It's more about promotes for investment into Malaysia rather than explaining what AI has to do with Malaysia
What I understand from this show is that Malaysia is committed and spending more for Ai research than the rest of Southeast Asia.
AI is fascinating and amazing technology. I am looking forward and excited that AI will be more advanced and adapted by more and more people, all industries, the government agencies and many more. AI will makes our lives more efficient and productive. Long live AI ❤️
AI = Data Collection to study user behaviours
LLM large language module
AI patented property not for sales, Malaysia can be AI consumers only.
Give and take lo.. unless we want to be missed out from global trend
@@abelwoo but the government is giving people an wrong impression of developing own AI tech. In fact helping US AI developers better solution to develop stronger holding power to wealth generations.
Malaysia will end up a user only. Creating AI needs huge work force with knowledge
Be a user first, after that be a creator
You missing the part where local university and org creating together robust ai tech that adapted to Malaysia need... Rewatch again..
Nope. If u just take time out to visit both the private n the public universities, you'll b pleasantly surprised. Many a times, we live in our own little bubble not hving a birds eye view of the wider world n we think our bubble is the world. In fact, u n i n every malaysian has been using some form if AI without even realizing it.
Easier to condemn is it?
The background audio is the Stranger Things theme song 😭
Malaysia will become developed countries terms of economy development,Ai & technology modernzation,Aging countries, education reformation
Our education must meet da future demand
Good for Malaysia
Dont worry, what ever new concept we want to do, somehow it will fucked up somewhere....and Singapore will be right there to overtake us...😂
We human don't eat AI or anything generated by AI... the more urgent issue is food insecurity... the government should tackle that issue first instead of investing billions on AI thingy... unless we develop something smart using the AI to help human in producing agriculture products more efficiently... produce more food locally... reduce food import... increase food export...
what makes you think there's no ai in food production?
Malaysia also aim to become the Renewal Energy hub in Asean...
Given the ongoing brain drain where many talented youths are leaving Malaysia every year, in search of better prospects abroad. It is just not possible for Malaysia to become AI powerhouse in Southeast asia region.
The real question is, when will we draft an artificial intelligence bill of rights? What will that consist of? And who will get to decide that?
Yes , with Anwar as PM Malaysia companies all over the world going to come to malaysia to invest in Ai we will surely surpass US,Israel Russia and China, yes entire world going to come our door knocking and begging please take our bilions of dollars of investment, because we love Anwar.
Must first defeat corruption and nepotism in totality
easy you say that
Malaysia AI ambition is just like multi Meadia corridor, Flying Car and everything big, when come to describing it. But it have not comes up to it's full potential. It will slowly disminise into the thin air. Just like MDB, BILLION OF MYR GONE INTO AIR. No where, to be seen.
Malaysia boleh.
Malaysia tech company must aim quantum computer.
Sgpore is current ASEAN AI hub?
Which country doesn't want to be forefront of AI ? It promises lucrative returns but whether the country has real talent and resources to embrace it is another religion
there are many good universities in Msia.
But hey, Malaysia is still in its “baby steps” phase when it comes to AI. 😜 0:02
Meanwhile the us can’t figure out what a woman is
As an American, I totally agree!
@@zafir7007 Have you even written Tensorflow or PyTorch code? Do you even know what gradient descent is? Do you know who Yann LeCun is, and why it matters when he says that he's skeptical about AGI?
@@henryloh4352 Ah yes a chatbot-written response with the telltale sign of starting every response with "Absolutely!". Have you actually worked on a foundation model? Done some pre-training or finetuning? Nope? I guess not.
@@zafir7007 One more thing: recommendation engines were in use way before the whole "artificial intelligence" hype. Machine learning is the proper name for this class of algorithms. They're sophisticated algorithms, but they're far from anything resembling intelligence.
AI was already taught in the polytechnics in Singapore in the 1990s let alone the universities. I am excited that an university in Malaysia is offer this course. I wonder what is the intake of each cohort?
i would rather shop at Speedmart
To make AI really on ground n felt by many people maybe can implement AI tech to traffic lights 1st that make many people affected by it's benefits. Dunno how but someone must pioneer it.
Malaysia have AI as Prime Minister
Am I the only one who is scared looking at the AI TV host? Its creepy.
But are all the Malaysian AI personnel needed?
See if they execute on what they promise. Malaysia has a long history of roti prata flipping policies.

Go to America and take down their notes that the government have jotted down on how many investors has lost their money. Malaysia is a horrible place to invest. But, it is a heaven to live in among the community. Why? Suffering! The Malaysians are already suffering in their everyday after the country fell into the hands of corrupted opposition from UMNO's hands. So, when people from overseas gets cheated in Malaysia by pioneeres and organizations, it is the fellow ordinary Malaysians who comforts them. Dot! ✅
Who said Malaysia is a horrible place to invest. Thanks to PM Anuar now Malaysia is one the best country to invest in SEA.
DSAI = Digital Synergy Artificial intelligence
Without the latest advanced AI chips from Nvidia, AMD. Dont expect us to become a leader of AI in South East Asia. Becoming a pioneer/ leader in AI, requires substantial resources: Funding, Highly-skilled workforce, Hardware, etc. We have have a funding, but can we really compete with the pioneers in the US that throw Billions of dollars for development?
Those glorifying Malaysian semi conductor industry is laughable, Malaysia do no MANUFACTURE these chips in Malaysia (latest 3-5 nanometer chips), the semi conductor industry in Malaysia serve a crucial role in the global supply chain (packaging, testing, and assembly). That doesn't mean Malaysia will be able to acquire these advanced chips to become the leader in AI for S.E.A. I love it when AI is thrown around and glorified. As of now, Malaysia's local fab only produces (historically 110nm to 40nm), currently 28nm to 22nm. We do not MANUFACTURE 3-5nm chips, we just provide them with assembly, testing and packaging. LOL,
I'm here just for the lovely Afifah😊
Oouiet….
Ha ha. Kantoi.

Malaysia has already been run b y AI - Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim 😂
