M'sia becoming global tech hub is overly glamorize and just a facade, involving in semiconductor is useless if you can't actually produce them yourself and data centres are just foreign companies coming over to rent a warehouse at your country to store their computers and datas for the sake of cheaper electricity and water. there won't be lack of skilled labor, there will only be lack of monetary rewards to attract those skilled labor. setting up a chip design hub is to just burn money until you can create your own chip but no one can certain about it on how long it takes or it will succeed or not in the future. stop taking SG as a reference when they have succeeded and M'sia is not. if PM is really smart and want to revitalize the local economy, he should start to focus on fundamental core economic sector such as F&B, Service and Logistic sector that affect majority of middle and lower class people instead of dreaming to become a tech hub in a short time. you guys need to wake and stop buying dreams sold by the gov and see what actually happened is more practical and realistic, those future "potential", "benefits" and "promisses" are all floating dreams as long it have not turn into reality yet. the reality now is the local economy is still a dead water and the PM is flying all over to buy dreams from other countries to feed to you all. it is crazy that so many blind and low IQ supporters buy into his dreams and think that M'sia is progressing very fast, really extremely crazy.
Malaysia is literally our closest neighbour, whether you look at us as friends/close allies or even economy rivals, we are all still part of ASEAN as a group and Asia as a continent - and geographic location we are so close in proximity. Nothing wrong to be reporting on Malaysia, in fact anything to report even the "lame tabloids" or celebrity gossips are never wrong, there are many people who are interested in different topic (eg. When ladies talk about their handbags, I couldn't be bothered but they are audience for fashion writers and when guys like me talked about watches and cars, they can't be bothered but I love reading Hodinkee). Audience chooses what they want to read, news and communication channels are there and put everything out for reader/viewers to choose what they want to know through things like titles and headlines. So, what is wrong with reporting the closest proximity neighbour who have very close economic ties with Singapore which is very important economic news? More exposure to such good prospective news also helps small business owners like me to start planning for the mid-distant future business prospect there. Your question really baffles the mind. More information and knowledge whether useful to you or not is never wrong or questionable, the question you should be asking is whether the information/resource/knowledge/report is accurate or not. (Also, for a personal level whether this news is useful for your life/interest you or not)

Kiasu
typical kiasu Singaporean, don't want Malaysia become better because he/she think Singapore is the best, but always come to Malaysia steal our petrol, bodoh
no body expect you to come and work here.
Msia you know
Talk = A++
Do = C-
Do nothing Talk only wont get Msia to 13,000USD per capita today..
probably 1000USD per capita if Msia can only talk...

singapore always busy about malaysia , why haaa? hahaha
