Glycerine and Rose water toner was my recent accidental discovery for dry scalp. Bought it at a cosmetic store in my country and sprayed it directly to my scalp. I felt too lazy to add any oil for that week. My normally itchy and flaky scalp didn’t flake that entire week. So that’s what works for me. I spray my locs too then seal with a peppermint hair oil but I don’t put the oil on my scalp anymore. My scalp seems to dislike oil.
My scalp is the same as yours. When I apply oil it itches and I get sticky flaky dandruff. I use a product called Living Proof dry scalp treatment and it is glycerin and water based. It works wonders on my scalp! But it's expensive so I will definitely try your method!
@@lovebug6390 gosh I hate that. I also put DM80 Sulphur Treat once every two months if I notice more itching and flaking. Forgot to mention that in my original comment.
If you find the mixture too sticky, reduce the amount of glycerin added. I’ve made this mistake a few too many times. When the mix is right it does wonders for the hair. I also add a few drops of peppermint oil and sometimes distilled water x
Hi, if you find the glycerin is too sticky you can also use vitamin E oil as well. I use the vit e capsule's. I burst a few in the rose water give it a good shake and that's it my rass feels great and moisturized. Oh and my rass is colour damaged as well.
This is so nice and you can also use, rose water and vitamin e oil half and half. Your hair looks very healthily moisturized and you're such a beauty as always *Nina!* 😊 This video was short and sweet, thanks for this *loc moisture combination* and take care until. Bye! 🙋🏽♀️
Leecey Leece it usually moisturized after some hours but it does dry it out for the remainder of the day. It’s good, but I do want to try it with combination of glycerin
Taylor Jones I ask because it works with vitamin e oil really well I’ve found - the Yannie version of half and half though I do less than that - but finally the locs do not dry out
I use that brand I rose water. I fill be 360 spray bottle half way with distilled water, the next with half aloe Vera juice, and top it off with the rose water. I do not put oil in my bottle. I then seal my hair with almond oil. I’m not having any issues with keeping moisture in dyed Locs.
Try rose water and vitamin e oil, half and half. And maybe instead of your conditioner, a hot oil treatment might be better for your hair. Just a recommendation, doesn't hurt to try something else if your current routine isn't pulling through.
I did a hot oil treatment on my daughters locs the other day after watching a video by Yannie - absolutely brilliant and far better than any conditioner. It’s worked absolute wonders and retained so much moisture - it’s been a real gem
I use the same brand rosewater, but I use vitamin e oil instead of the glycerin. I also have the same spritz bottle. I swear by it for moisturizing my locs 🥰
I actually do a 1/2 and 1/2 of the Rosewater/ Glycerin and water. I don’t like the oily feel either, and this mix moisturizes my locs without that sticky oily feel.
Hi Nina, I just love you and the content you put out on your channel. I've been using rose water and glycerine for a few years now and it definitely moistures my locs. I love it!
I certainly hope the rose water works! My olive oil/coconut oil mixes haven't been working for me either as of late. And I honestly felt like my locs were too damaged from color to fully recover either so I picked em all out and decided to get loc extensions next month. Fresh start!
I've been using these products on my hair from the beginning, I'm a babe just 9 weeks in but I like how they both feel on my hair and scalp... I spray peppermint oil & argan oil on my hair... So far so good... But as I said I'm a babe I've got a long way to go... But loving it... 😀
So injury tried rose water with glycerin for the first time last night. I can honestly say I already feel a difference in my locs. But! The Rose smell.os so strong that I now have a headache. Is there anything that I can do about that? I love how my locs feel, but don't really like the smell and headache.
I'm in the minority. I can't use rosewater (or anything) on my scalp so I'd have to put the rosewater in my hands to make sure it applies only to my locs. But I don't because I think it stinks! I really do think it smells like old socks!🤣🤣 But seriously, watch that mixture in the winter. Glycerin is a humectant that draws moisture to your hair. If it's cold and dry out, instead of drawing moisture from the air to your locs, it can draw moisture from your locs and make them dry and crunchy.
When is the best time to moisturize for it to be beneficial? Can I do it at night before so out on my bonnet or would it best in the morning and let it air dry on the way to work?

Curious; why is this rose water clear compared to the homemade method that bleeds the roses of their colour into the water? Are the companies that bottle this stuff giving us real rose water or is it some synthetic substitute? Genuine question, that. Because I just bought some from Sally's (Tgin) and it's clear as water and smells like perfume but it does indeed leave that sticky sensation you describe. images.ulta.com/is/image/Ulta/2544777?op_sharpen=1&resMode=bilin&qlt=85&wid=800&hei=800&fmt=jpg
Girl, I hear you! I colored my long locs red back in 2017 and I'm STILL losing ends. SMDH I dyed them back to black a year ago, and I'm nursing them back to health but I'd say I lost about 2 years of growth because of the breakage. Never again. I learned my lesson!
I’ve been doing this for months. It keeps my locs so moisturized. They are so soft.

I probably need to moisturize more, i just let my locs be, i know the moisture is good for our hair, i need to get on my game.
That same brand has the rosewater & glycerin already together. BEST.THING.EVER! My hair always stays moisturized.
Yeah, I saw that on Amazon after I bought them at the store! 😆 I love it so far!

I have been using rosewater since I have been locked for the past almost 3 years . You can also get Rosewater with Glycerin .
If you place your hand behind the section you air spraying, you don’t lose so much product into the air 😀
I Love, Love Rosewater and Vitamin E oil.
I have been using it for years.
It smells good and work great.
Yes. That mixture is golden. I only use glycerin in warm months. It actually sucks the moisture out in the winter so be ware. I add pure vit e too
Please do 90s styles on locs they have so many box braids 90s styles but no locs videos ❤️
I love the color of your nails

Natural Inspirations By Nekoda I prefer vitamin e oil to glycerin with my rose water. 🎈
Love this video! A color treated treatment or conditioner will help your locs where you have colored them. (Amika has good options)
I love using that brand of rose water. My hair feels super moisturized after I finish using it
So you use it alone and does it work for you that way? I found it just dried out quite quickly and my daughters locs needed something more
Leecey Leece it usually moisturized after some hours but it does dry it out for the remainder of the day. It’s good, but I do want to try it with combination of glycerin

Heritage Store also makes a rosawater glycerin spray. It’s really good.

I use the rose water in my hair. I got mine from Marshalls. I will try the mixture..
I’ve been wanting to try this on my locs for a minute. Glad to see you enjoyed it.
I actually do a 1/2 and 1/2 of the Rosewater/ Glycerin and water. I don’t like the oily feel either, and this mix moisturizes my locs without that sticky oily feel.
I stopped using glycerin in my Rose water for that reason I hated the stickiness but my locs are so dry I think imma try it again.
Right? I guess there's a tradeoff for everything.
Try vitamin e oil instead, works like a charm
The glycerin is good for humid air in the summer here in Midwest. During winter months...just Rose water does it for me
Hi Nina, I just love you and the content you put out on your channel. I've been using rose water and glycerine for a few years now and it definitely moistures my locs. I love it!
Yaaassss!!! Been using rosewater on my locs to moisturize! The smell is a plus!
Right!!
I like it I use equal parts of rose water/vitamin e sometimes I do my retwisting with it also
I ordered my rosewater a couple of days ago.
I certainly hope the rose water works! My olive oil/coconut oil mixes haven't been working for me either as of late. And I honestly felt like my locs were too damaged from color to fully recover either so I picked em all out and decided to get loc extensions next month. Fresh start!
i think its the glycerin that causes that coat of greasy feel, nice recipe
I'm gonna try rosewater on mine

Hi Nina! What do you use to retwist? I'm at my wits end trying to find products to retwist me and my daughter's hair 😊🐘
Find out anything on this?
That rose water is ah-mazing
Nina you may need Argan oil or avocado oil.
Maybe! I like this right now, though :-)
As long as it works and you are happy?
Would you recommend Rose water with Jamaican black castor oil?
I'm not a big fan of JBCO, so it really depends on your preference. It's just too thick for me 🙃
@@NinaUnlocked thank you I think I'll use amla oil instead
Pretty! Good video
I'm retwisting my locs rn
Get it!!
What pattern do you have in this video?
