Mannn the crazy part is my family recently moved to Winterville (which is right next to Greenville) lol. My sister is doing her residency at Vidant Medical Center at ECU. Just for laughs, which high school did you graduate from? I graduated from Pine Forest.
Congrats on getting into EPIK. I'm an EPIK teacher in the south east of Korea, been here for a little over 2 years. Best decision I've ever made. I always love seeing Korean Americans/British/etc coming to teach and work here to show a different perspective. And I feel like your multicultural korean background will be very beneficial for the students. I wouldn't say that Korea is truly racist like the US, but is pretty ignorant about racial issues and it comes off as true racism. It's sometimes hard for me to teach my students about racism because I don't have personal experience with it, even though I've lived in areas of the US that has given me an insight like Oakland, California. Good luck on your journey and your transition. The first 6 months are the hardest, different reasons for each person. But once you get through that 6th month hurdle, you'll find that Korea is a really great place to be right now.

You bring up a very good and valid point about the racism issue in Korea. I'm curious to see how my experience will be (though I know I will have a VERY positive experience over all). Having lived in Korea-town here in the states for the past 5 years, I've got a chance to experience a good amount of ignorance, even with being half-Korean. But nothing too horrible. Hopefully, I can say the same once I get to Korea. Overall, super excited though! Looking forward to showing my journey :)

We live in a diverse but culturally segregated area. Our children are entering the grey area of realizing they're differences. I've become accustomed to the reactions I get when introducing or being introduced as a spouse. Would love to hear your mother & sister's experience on marriage & raising mixed children. Also if you encounter mixed families in Korea that would be interesting too. Looking forward to seeing more videos.

I hope you have a blast when you get to S. Korea! I’ve always wanted to visit, so I hope you vlog a ton, so I can live vicariously through you 😭. Lol
Yes, NJ is another world compared to NC. But that's awesome that you want to settle in UK...I hope that you can make that happen! And trust me, I'll vlog a ton in Korea! You should try to visit one day :)
