MsBlackoreanlady Thanks for showing up. I am glad to see you out there. Some of my cousins, and best friend is Blaisian too. I will check out the rest of this video, and others that you have made.

You are stunning . Do you speak fluent Korean ? I had to edit and add more , YOU ARE FREAKING BEAUTIFUL , and i say that as a gay guy so this is not that subjective. How come you're not on runways ? You are clearly tall, you are very thin, ultra long neck , arms and fingers , perfect hands , you lady should be seriously pushing the doors of Elite and a few other company , and i also say that as someone who worked in that industry to out myself through med school .
This was a great video. I'm also half Korean but I was born at a time when the Koreans weren't very receptive to mixed children and were very ignorant about the different races. Would love to see your thoughts/input or even a video with someone from the 40+ group of being mixed. Keep up the great work.
You know, I would LOVE to do a video on someone who is in their 40's and up that is mixed with Korean. As you know, it is hard to find someone with the blend and age. Thanks for the idea of a new video. If the opportunity presents itself, I will jump on it.
MiKole well, I may be able to help you out..and I've also got a mixed cousin that was put up for adoption and reunited with her birth mother decades later. My brother and I were born and lived in Korea through elementary school with Korean as our first language. We grew up overseas and relocated to the usa after high school. We faced the racism both in Korea and in the usa for never fitting quite in. I can probably hook up you with every subject matter regarding half Koreans living and adjusting to both life in korea and the usa. Can't see what you come up with.
Desi Love PSandhu thank you for your comment. My parents have been married for nearly 50 years so whatever whorish or fetish behavior they may have had worked for them and kept them together far longer than most couples from any part of the world. As for us little half breeds, I am a retired federal law enforcement officer. Being multilingual enabled me to live a very comfortable life in pretty much every corner of the world. It also made America a safer place to be in for the decent people, and racist assholes alike. And I'll be sure to pass your comments along to my Asian man. I'm sure he will appreciate your speaking on his behalf.
Good and earnest talk, I am a Korean if I was 20 years younger I could've definitely made you my girl, ha ha! Korea was strictly mono culture up until recently, but with the rising economic power and due to influx of foreigners Korea is becoming more and more westernized and slowly but surely opening up to different ideas, cultures and ethnicities. Overall, Korea is a safe and stable country to rase a family. Welcome home my sister, this is your country! 당신의 귀환을 환영합니다 !
Hahah!! Thanks and yes Korea is definitely changing. Seoul just had an African festival and in February there's a black history month festival in Daegu. One step at a time! :)
She is SOOOOOOO Beautiful!!! and I love her advice love both sides of you. I am American Indian, Irish, French, and actually we can't figure where the African American comes in but we know its in there, but when people see me all they see is a black woman, which I love with no disrespect to any other of my background. I know about all of them and their individual cultural richness. Blessings
rihj200 And that's all I would expect you to see with your eyes. (I'm very proud to be labeled black!) Genealogical facts though-My mother is American Indian from the Berk tribe in Oklahoma (dark skin color) & Irish. My Father is Creole @ Cherokee. It's also interesting that all the Filipinos, Japanese, and Chinese people I live around can always tell by our family features but Most Americans only see skin color.
Candice Davis you're either lying or your father isn't your biological father. You look like a typical African American. if you were mixed, it'd definitely show but you have West African features. You are black. Not mixed at all
Who are you that I should lie or try to convince you?? I have nothing to prove to you. My comment wasn't directed to you. I know exactly my genealogical make-up and I love All of it!!! Now why you're trying to check or insult someone else about what you don't know, what's in your genealogical wallet?? In America there is still the one drop rule on the law books. What difference does it make. The lady said you don't have to choose a side of you, love and embrace all of you to which I agreed. Get educated creep!!
@4:50 I agree with her about the Americans being more bubbly. I also agree that it's a cultural thing...she says she feels more comfortable in that "bubbly" environment. I'm from a more conservative culture, and I've been living in the USA for the past 15 years and I STILL cannot adjust to the "bubbly". It's SOOOOO nice to go home, and I breathe a sign of relief when I get off the plane and I'm surrounded by people who are more reserved, people who give me space, and who address me as "Miss" and not by my first name. So yeah definitely a cultural difference....My husband who's American says I need to lighten up :)....and I try, but honestly it's stessful to me to be surrounded by such informality all the time...and so I long for home, where I can just be ME and not have to worry about offending someone because I'm too formal...which happens ALL the time. C'est la vie :):)
Then that's you problem and that won't help you at all just lose a lot with people? so do try to be more out going you'll have more fun in life? a lot Koreans are 60 years behind in time still?
shes so pretty im mixed myself (not half asian just mixed lol) and its interesting to here what mix asian kids/adults think especially since i love korean culture its so cool lol
AspiringMulticulturalArtist Have you had the chance to come to Korea yet? That would be an interesting experience for you (to be multicultural) since most Koreans don't have the opportunity to meet others with a mixed background.
I am loving it here! Don't get me wrong. I love the US since it is my home. At the same time, I have TONS of more opportunities out here. I'm always thankful for good friends that got me started on RUclips and short films here. And yeah, I plan on staying for a bit haha.
MiKole ...Really? you have more opportunities in Korea than in the US? Surprised to read that since you arent fluent in Korea or even speak Korean at all.
Yeah. Many people come over to Asia because of a lower cost of living (except for a few countries) and companies pay your rent and utilities. Also, it is easier to get into film and TV abroad since we're novelties. Luckily, I do speak Korean and take class about 3 hours a week. I'm not fluent and probably won't be for a few more years (I consider fluent to be native level). But yeah, many opportunities abroad.
You’re beautiful love your hair, I am mixed from the Caribbean; I guess when you’re mixed with black , you can look like any Caribbean people, cause in the states people ask me if am mixed with black & white, my dad was black my mom is native Indian & white. It’s very normal to be mixed with everything in the Caribbean.
Hilda AYBAR what's the obsession with the hair it's just hair get over yourself already nothing wrong with my African hair I love it because God gave it to me
Hilda AYBAR we have very mixed people in Africa we where colonised and have many black/white or black/Indian who cares most see them selfs as black not matter the shade most are brought up by black grandma so associate more with African
hello... I'm also black/Korean (blasian)the difference I have is that I look more Hawaiian, girl.. basically I look like kimora lee fo real! And the black females didn't accept me. 😭😢 Saying I don't look black enough or have black features. I'm older now and learned to just love myself for being unique. 💖
If your father Black he carries the Seed? go look it up? you are Black not Korean! No Mixing the Blood holy blood and seed and God will deal with them that did this? sorry true read the bible and study please? for your sakes okay? Shalom.
Well some black girls are ignorant. It's a reality that my own unborn daughter may face. I may one day have a Blasian daughter and I want her to not go through racial bias. I mean I have it pretty hard as a Black woman I can only imagine how hard it'll be for her being both Asian and Black.
obviously it depends on where you are born and raised which will determine what you prefer/like etc.. ^^ so it would be great to get the opinions of mixed korean-born kids. plus it'll stop koreans from putting all mixed people under one category.
I would be very interested in hearing from mixed kids that were raised in Korean society. I hear stories about mixed kids in Japan that run into a lot of issues with Japanese society and their expectations. Asian Boss needs to get up on that haha.
yeah japan is still pretty "if you dont look Japanese, you can't be Japanese"... because they assume if you dont look Japanese you dont know how to "be Japanese" lol.. for the most part, most asian countries are like that, which is why i feel bad for asia-born mixed kids.
I Iove this video. Thank you for sharing your perspective. Generally speaking living in a racially fragmented society like the USA in which one must conform to White power ideals and trying to live monoculturally as a whole can be a source of confusion but the world can change fast and accommodate to it. I as a Korean-American or Asian American in general must cultivate a patriotic love for core American values while promoting Asian American visibility in order to survive and excel credibly in the USA.
I'm Native American, Black, North African, and Korean. You can definitely see the Korean in me so whenever I meet Korean people they don't know whether to talk to me in Korean or English lol. I find it kinda funny actually.
oh god Atlanta is no where as diverse as NY im afraid. it's really weird if you're not used to it. you every neighborhood has s different group of people. they all congrigate lol
Txmj122 I'm from New York and I have to say it's pretty much like a lot of states in terms of diversity such as Florida, California and Maryland, nothing special lol
Chauna Atlanta has the second highest Korean population in the States next to LA. There are pockets of super diversity throughout our country. That is the one thing I miss about the States and American life.
On the other hand, when my husband was 10 minutes late for his flight on Korean Air, they held the plane for him. Would that happen on an American airline? Hell no!
when I'm around beautiful people like the woman in this video, I feel so intimated. I don't know why but I just feel so unattractive. I think because she is tall, I'm not (only 5ft5). she's mixed with the most beautiful hair ever and she's confident
Thank you so much but I definitely agree with Mikole! I was not always confident. Growing up taller than literally everyone was a HUGE struggle but at some point in my life I decided I am beautiful just the way I am. Even when I don't feel confident on the inside I stand tall, smile bright and walk with my head held high. My insides are like... no go hide somewhere.. lol but I just keep on moving! So remember to always smile and hold your head up high. :)
MsBlackoreanlady Thanks a lot both of you. That's great advice. Didn't know you could feel insecure inside and still act confident on the outside. I'll try it out today :-)
Koreans don’t have much experiences and have a chance to know any African ethnicity. Generally they haven’t met any dark skin color people in their life (except a few of west asian people). So it is quite acceptable that they cannot recognize the difference between African American and Korean African American. To know the differences is same as noticing between Japanese and Korean or Buryat and Mongolian for Western ppl :)
So you feel more comfortable in America, raised in America, but still would secretly choose Korea in a sports event? America always gets the shit end of the stick, but is so good to people of all races. Get your priorities straight. I'm Mexican, but I'm with America all the way.
Hey! I'm half Korean and black too! I lived in Korea for 2 years ! This is nice, first time on the channel!
Welcome! I hope you enjoyed the video and felt some connection to it.
Oh that's awesome!
Yama Tama I’m black and Korean but only America. My sister was born in Korea but didn’t stay. I just uploaded my growing up biracial video.
Then why do you look full black
She definitely looks half, I can see the Asian and Black

Yo, really enjoyed this video. And definitely keeping it to show to my older students.
I appreciate it, Lonnie. I'm having a blast making videos that show a different perspective and make people think.
MiKole how are enjoying South Korea? Do you plan to stay for a while?

when I'm around beautiful people like the woman in this video, I feel so intimated. I don't know why but I just feel so unattractive. I think because she is tall, I'm not (only 5ft5). she's mixed with the most beautiful hair ever and she's confident
I'm 10,000% sure that you're gorgeous just the way you are. That is where the true beauty lies. #deepmoment
Tonya can play harp or piano with those long fingers.
Damn ! Sistah. ... you... pretty !💖💖💋💖💋💋💋😊💖💖💖💖
She must have a military parent , navy goes there a lot for port or get stationed over there. BUSAN is lit btw haha
So you feel more comfortable in America, raised in America, but still would secretly choose Korea in a sports event? America always gets the shit end of the stick, but is so good to people of all races. Get your priorities straight. I'm Mexican, but I'm with America all the way.
