Resolution of happiness, things have been dark for too long....... Watching Michael dance around on stage reminds me of a young Bono's moves! I know U2 really liked the music of INXS and took his death really hard like the rest of us that loved their music.
You could just feel how great this band was feeling at this early stage of their career. They are probably hitting America for the 1st time and realizing that they are killing it. Hutchence is a phenomenal frontman, right up there with the era's best at the time. Great song. Sometimes songs just pop into my head, and that's what happened here, I hadn't heard it in decades and my mental phonograph (I'm an old guy) dropped this disc down and the needle started playing it in my head. Luckily RUclips had a cool live version.
Dianne C. They hadn't even reached anywhere near their peak. They had tremendous success with X and rode that album for over a year with Devil Inside and Need You Tonight. Then tragedy struck and millions of fans were left dumbstruck. It has never really been clear what happened but to me, it didn't matter. It was like someone had just kicked me in the groin. Michael was an incredible artist who offstage was such a shy and unassuming guy anybody could identify with. As a band, they were like a fine tuned engine. Sadly, without Michael they disappeared. Tried a comeback about 15 years ago with JD Fortune but the demands of touring burned him out. He was a formidable replacement and they could have returned but it just wasn't meant to be. But, you are right. They made their mark and we can still enjoy them here. We all miss you Michael.
He was the most beautiful man. His moves. Best song ever written by INXS. First video by them that I saw on MTV. Thank you INXS for those good memories. This song touched my soul.
I believe this is from a concert show on ABC that used to be on late Friday nights. It was the first time I had ever seen INXS, and I was blown away by their stage presence. I was a fan from that point forward. Finally got to see them live on their '91 Suicide Blonde Tour. Truly one of the most amazing concerts I've seen. They just owned it!

Still one of my all-time favorite INXS songs and one of their best, in my opinion, and they were a FANTASTIC band to see live! Saw them in concert for my first & only time at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center (pre-STRAZ Center) in September of 1997. Just two short months later, Michael tragically took his own life while still on that same tour and I sure was thankful to have gotten to that show and seen them. His picture could be used in the dictionary for the definition of "front man". He was just so at-home on stage and he got down into the crowd completely unattended by Security while singing, going back & forth through rows of seats (not just up & down the isles), high-fiving everyone along the way. It's in my top 10 of favorite concerts attended still to this day, and I've been to a few. Cheers guys and THANKS for all the great music!
Saw them open for Adam Ant at Allegheny College, Meadville, PA in 1983. They closed their six song set with this song. You knew then that they were going to be huge and that Michael had that "it" factor. He was a rock star, plain and simple..... glad I experienced it.
