    Or
Shall i need to do anything else if i reinstall esxi and restore backup config ??
    Thanks in advance

      Hi Mahmoud,
Yes, VSS and Port group configuration will be included in ESXi host backup. If you want to re-install the ESXi host and restore the backup make sure you have the same ESXi version.
      Feel free to ask questions

Example: I made the backup, copied it to Local-datastore and storage. I needed to reinstall ESXi, how to restore the backup? After ESXi reinstall does it delete Local-datastore backup? And the backup that is in the storage, how to restore it after reinstalling ESXi? Thank you.

Question is how to recover heavy data of host machine? is there any way to take whole HOST machine backup?

    • @virtualtrainee
      @virtualtrainee  10 месяцев назад

      Hi ,
If the Virtual Machine is running on the esxi host if you want to take backup of the virtual machine you need to use the backup environment. Because in this video I have only explained about ESXi host configuration backup. If you are using vCenter Server with vDS then you can export existing host profile backup and configure if there is any issue with ESXi host.
      Hope this answer helps you.
Let me know if you have any query.

It will contain network information and virtual machine configuration files.
Note - Please don't use this as a full backup of any VM. It will not backup for the virtual machine disk
I hope the above information will be helpful for you.

If VM ware server crashed then what will do... We need fresh installion of VMware ESXi Host first then restore vm machines
I hope you understand what is VMware ESXi Host and VM Machine's
Dont give incomplete information... Always give correct information

      Hi ,
I really appreciate you for your query. As per my understanding whatever info I have provided that's totally correct.
In this video I explained ow to take ESXi host backup and also explained how to restored it from the backup. This video can also help you, if you are planning to modify configuration settings. Before changing the setting you can take backup, incase anything goes wrong then you can restore ESXi host from the backup. VM restore process is just one example which I have explained in this video.
If you have any questions please let me know.
