Great job with jumping straight into it
Hi Albert, thank you :)
thanks you made it really easy
You're welcome!
Great contents more videos on ESXI PATCHING, VMWARE SNAPSHOT creations and management, VMWARE NETWORKING AND ADMINISTRATION is expected in near future soon
Thank you Supriyo
Nicely explained about backup and restore. Could you please some link about storage and network configuration. Thank you so much wonderful content
Hi there thanks for your comment. What would you like to know about storage and network config ?
Great session. I have one query regarding file-based backups and restores for vCenters on Enhanced Linked mode. Somehow VMware/Broadcom articles do not give much info on this.
Any thoughts?
Hi there, thanks for your comment, what's the query you have, as in how to do it in an Enhanced Linked mode setup ?
@@sysadmintutorials that’s correct. I am not finding a reliable article from VMware/Broadcom/or any third parties. Any thoughts? I know in a snapshot scenario, we could take offline snapshots all at same time to cover linked mode. However, I am not sure the same is applicable if we schedule file backups all at same time.
Have the fresh restores VCSA got new Machine Certificates or has it got the one from de backed up VCSA??
Is Vcenter HA still important in Vcenter 7.0+, with the introducing of vCLS?
Hi Lennart, here are the benefits of vcenter HA:
"vCenter High Availability (vCenter HA) protects vCenter Server against host and hardware failures. The active-passive architecture of the solution can also help you reduce downtime significantly when you patch vCenter Server."
You need to determine if vCenter HA is right for you, with a little extra layer of complexity compared to managing a single vcenter

I am using Veeam, more easy ;) thanks
Hi spootnick, yes can also use 3rd party tools such as veeam, etc
Do these backups retain custom certificates so they will be the same as before the restore?
Hi Insaneology, yes it should retain the custom certificates
In stage 1, step 11 - configure network settings I'm not getting the FQDN and IP auto populating. This means I can only restore to another IP and hostname, but I want to restore the VCSA host without changing these settings.
Hi there, in stage 1, step 4 do you see the FQDN there ?
In the questions of my exam it was mentioned a VCSA config file which starts with VCSA. It's a json config file. I keep checking and checking my backed up files within FTP server where i backed my VCSA but there's nothing. Only json file i have is metadata json file . Do we have an idea about where this file could be ?
Hi Berk, I'm not quite sure sorry. How was the question asked regarding the json file ?
@@sysadmintutorials Thanks for the reply. It was Vcenter backup config file starts which vcsa. I backedup my vcenter in my lab all i have is metadata json file ( when i backit up from vcsa ) management so i wanted to ask from here maybe someone knows.
@@sysadmintutorials Sorry for wrong information. It was Vcenter server profile json config file so it's pretty normal you dont have an idea :) Again thank you. I'm working on on that.
If FTP server is not available..then where we have to keep Vcenter server backup copy..?
Hi Vvek, if you don't have an FTP server you can also use FTPS, HTTPS, SFTP, NFS or HTTP
What about if my VC network is already on Distributed Virtual switch and not on Standard switch ?
Hi Andres, that is ok if it's on VDS
Do you have tutorials on how to move a cluster from one VCSA to another VCSA, or is that even possible?
Hi there Contour Shave Club, can you provide a little more detail, as you could do a backup of your current vcsa and then restore to a new vcsa, or is your new vcsa already up and running ?
@@sysadmintutorials I have a running VCSA with several datacenters and cluster. I also have another VCSA with one DC and a cluster. I want to retire the second VCSA and only maintain a single VCSA. How do I migrate or move the cluster from the second VCSA to the other VSCA that I want to maintain? I want to avoid recreating the cluster. What are my options?
when you say retire the second VCSA are you referring to the VCSA with one DC and a cluster ?
