    Very simple explanation with a demo - At certain cases we can call host here as vHost ratherthan calling ESXi , when it provides services, then probably a different name like server required. An important thing here to understand how a common hardware is referred as vCenter server and ESXi host.

    That's really good. What is the good practice for the Data Centre? Where should Install my DC1, DC2, File Server? I am not sure if I should install it on real physical or VM. Kindly demonstrate

    So a server that has dual CPUs, it needs two licenses of ESXi? Does that mean using 2 free versions wont work on a dual CPU server?

      Thank you for your comment. I think, VMware's licensing model for ESXi is based on the number of physical processors (CPUs) in the host. However, it's always good to check with them about licensing.
