Dear Sir, I'm sure you don't have enough time to read all messages but if you come across this one i'd love to see a comparison between OG Xbox 'Wreckless the Yakuza missions' and the PS2. It is literally like two different games. I'm also interested to see if it came to PC at any point and to see that comparison. Edit: 2 other interesting comparisons would be : Riddick escape from butcher bay and Doom 3.
Umm... some voice actors died so it’d be impossible for a remake. Unless there happens to be a professional impersonator that knows how to talk like the real guy for the whole game.
Both games are ass to be honest. Godfather gets repetitive extremely fast. It was a pathetic try by EA to cash in on a great movie license. Just play Mafia instead.
While I prefer the 360 or PS3 versions due to the added content, I've always thought that the game looked it's best on the original Xbox / PS2. The filters and effects made a huge difference
I agree, you can really see it at 7:23 with the Don's face. The originals had more attention to detail so it really looks like Brando and really looks 'Godfathery'. Whereas the later versions, the face is more hi-res but it feels much less instantly recognizable as Brando/Godfather. I remember being amazed and delighted at the accurate character models of Corleone and Luca Brasi when I played it on PS2. I love the idea of Coppola playing it and getting pissed at its GTA elements. Sorry dude, that's how we like it in games! The 1991 side-scrolling game is even worse, you can shoot mothers pushing their prams down the street.
@Paul Bell We'll, it lacks the details from the Xbox/PS2 version (effects and filters) as it's pretty much a graphically downgraded version of The Don's Edition, so I'll argue that it looks worse than both than both the PS2/Xbox. That being said, it's still the superior version due to the added content and more dynamic weather :)
@Paul Bell Yeah, I agree. At least considering the size of San Andreas. Godfather has better character models, and I especially think the interiors look quite good, but overall San Andreas presentation is better. I still love the game though, one of my all time favourites. I have played every version, even on the PSP
Fun trivia: Marlon Brando's performance was recorded but wasn't included in the game except one scene in the hospital where he can be heard in the background. In the rest of the game Vito is voiced by someone else.
I was about to say just this. The reason why his lines were unusable was because his oxygen machine could be heard in the recordings. The "speech" he gives in the hospital if you wait and listen is actually from one of the novels, I believe.
From what I've noticed, on PS2 there's random scraps of newspaper flying around the streets, while those were completely removed from the PS3 version (for some reason it was the first thing I've noticed), the removal ruined the atmosphere a bit in my opinion.
I played this a few months back on the PS2 for the first time and I gotta say, it's held up pretty well considering. Fingers crossed that the PS5 has full backwards compatibility, would love to see how it runs fully upscaled.
My understanding is that PS5 will only be backwards compatible with most PS4 games only. Full backwards compatibility would have been the ultimate though. Would have been killer.
I played Godfather on two systems “PS2 / PS3” the world was a blast to play in. A little blocky and the NPC’s were quite stupid. But the driving, gun play, and the shakedown system had me playing all day,
I rented this for the Wii back in ‘07. I absolutely loved the fire effects on cars when they took on too much damage and blew up. Also, using motion controls to smack around shopowners and their stores was a fun gimmick.
This video was way more detailed than I expected. I thought it just be one of those videos that plays like 3-4 clips in the game simultaneously and be done. I like this way FAR better.
Blazing Angels would be also nice, because PS3 versions of Blazing Angels and Alone in the Dark are enhanced versions and have more content (similar to Godfather game in this video).
Oh god I got that game on the wii and it looked awful. It was a port of the ps2 version that's why it looks so bad. It's a shame since I knew the wii couldve done better. I heard the ps3 version of Alone in the dark 2008 is the best.
Actually marlon Brando only had one scene in the game which you can hear when the character is in the hospital and is talking to michael and you can only hear this if you eavesdrop during the gameplay. Due to his health and breathing machine they weren't able to record much so they doug abrahams to do the voice of vito corleone in the game.
The video seems to have a bit of misinformation regarding voice actors. Same with Al Pacino. He never voiced Tony Montana in the Scarface game lol. It was a guy called Andre Sogliuzzo.
PS3 looks the best, in terms of graphics (both reflections and shadows. I personally don't mind 2FPS reflections if they are real reflections). PS2 has the best color profile and light effects. Xbox 360 has the best particles. PC has the best textures, but looks, by far, the worst. Very interesting comparison. I'd really like to see a mod that takes all the goodies from every version and puts it into the PC version.
I played this on windows back in the day and loved it! It looked amazing to me and I enjoyed playing though it a lot. I run the world in the godfather!
They remastered Mafia 1, now they need to remaster this. I always thought this was better than Mafia 2 because you could take over so many rackets and actually run the business.
As a person who has beaten absolutely every version of the game multiple times, the Playstation 3 version is the absolute best way to play the game even far superior than the PC version.
Seeing random assets in open world games with realtime cutscenes is pretty normal, at times it can cause funny glitches as well. It seems all version besides PS2/XB are after thoughts and any strengths in visuals, a result of the systems' individual powers rather than extra work. Also on windows, it can be a pain to play, it was clearly made with gamepads in mind, and getting gamepads to work in the PC version is tricky to say the least.
Just started replaying now, well last week for 360, I finished it on PS2 years ago and on PC after that, it feels a bit dated I think and could do with a remake, I own the Wii version too but I'll never play it. Great video, you put so much effort into these - thanks
Wii and PS3 versions are remastered versions of the game with changes in missions/locations, changes in game mechanics (crew hiring, police officers hiring, etc.), new models, new weapons, new hubs, new missions, etc. (and PS3 one is the most complete with some of the missions appear only in it, like the ones from police officers). So they are surely better for replaying after the standard version.
You missed a couple of stuff - with the actors in this game, Abe Vigoda came back as Tessio as he was in the movie. And on 7:59 (edit numbering), in the Xbox 360 version, there’s a new man a bit away from his 3 friends, the when Luca showed up, he had the lead pipe & killed the one man, of course, then he ran away & jump vault over the fence.
I have a lot of fond memories of this game. Played it a lot as a teen. The original Xbox version is the one I played. I personally still think it looks the best as far as aesthetics. I would be curious to play the other versions, especially the Wii and PS3 versions.
I used to have The Godfather for the PS2. It was ok. I do like how it loosely followed the plot of the movie and the fact it was Marlon Brando’s last role ever. (God rest his sole)
*Back in the day there was an update for Xbox360 which added the PS3's additional Don Edition's content. I wonder how to get it somehow nowadays after shutting down the servers.*
First of all, it's not all of the content, only like half of it. And you won't get any new interiors, just the guns, new bodyguard, and two missions, as far as I remember. No mission changes either. Second of all, it's a payed DLC, that's why you can't legally get it nowadays. All Xbox Live servers are working and you will easily get all of the title updates for the game. DLC's were delisted years ago because EA lost the license for the Godfather. If you bought it back then, like I did, you can still download them from Xbox Live, or copy from the USB stick and play from your account, because you've got the license attached to your account. So there is no problem getting it, the only question is how to buy it. But if you have a JTAG modded console, there is no need to buy it, it won't check the files signatures.
God I loved this game!! Great comparison video. You would never know about these differences unless watching the video. Also I'm surprised you didn't bring up the heat effect towards the beginning of the video comparing PS2 and Xbox. The Xbox had a very obvious heat effect coming off the fire.
Just a hunch but I think the faces look overly smooth on the Wii because while the previous sixth gen versions had graphics tailor made for those specifications, the Wii has the same graphics as PS3, but downgraded.
You did a fantastic job with this video. Best you've done so far. Very informative about the games content, its past and their differences. I would still reccomend the Wii and PS3 ports over all the others because of the extra content. I know the Wii port is a tad blurry and of lower texture quality in places. But the extra content is worth the trade off. And the reason the PS3 port is blurry is because it uses Quincunx AA. It's a not the best form of AA for the time. But! Great job! Do a vid of True Crime New York City. A comparison on it would be interesting as it pushes the PS2 and Xbox hard.
I'm i the only one who thinks the facial expressions on the kid look the best on Wii? The PS2/Xbox look like the sun is shining directly in his face lol. Plus the PS2 and xbox is more blocky in the face.
I'm just impressed you got the game to run on pc. I've tried everything and I can't get past the character creation screen before the whole thing crashes
Awesome friend, i still love the filters in PS2/Xbox Also i was going to point that Al Pacino thing for the Scarface game but as someone already did, did you know it was meant to be released for 360/PS3? But they pulled back
The Godfather game got really held back by the PS2 and Xbox. Looking back at how GTAIV looked you know The Godfather could have looked way better if it had been made for the 360 and PS3 only.
Jeez... What was in these dev's minds when making PC ports? They ported over the LAST gen versions instead of the superior next gen versions. What compelled them to port over the inferior versions?
They really put the most effort on PS2 version I owned PS2 WII and PS3 version and PS2 version is the best one. PS3 version really just an expanded up res Wii version with forced tacked on Sixaxis controls good thing I didn't pay much for used copy. Wii version is quite fun when it works but the pointer controls tend to go bad from time to time make shooting tutorial impossible to complete same with PS3 version with Sixaxis hand to hand tutorial mission if you don't have a Genuine controller it's impossible to complete that mission.
Your video is great and it shows every single detail that even developers didn't care about! The Godfather is a good game, no matter what the director of the movie says about it. When I play it, I don't think that I'm wasting my time and I enjoy keep playing and following the story, it's the most important thing. However that it's a true fact that the game is not a MASTERPIECE of art like the movie. It's not even near a masterpiece in gaming industry... But tell me which movie-game is there to be as good as its movie counterpart??? It's the same about the vise versa. I mean look at HITMAN movies; they're very good movies and you never think that you wasted your time by watching them. But if you give the HITMAN movies a score of 60/100 it'll be 90/100 if you rank the game. The only title that is good both on movie and on game, is The Last of Us. However, going back to The Godfather game, I think that the "ONLY" thing which player really have trouble with it, is that the interior of cars are not modeled. Except this as a really bad point, I can deal with other bad things, even with the bad aiming 😅
I know this is a graphics comparison, but is the extra content only available on the PS3 and Wii? I used to play the PS2 version back in the day, but now I got my hands on the PC version, and I was wondering if there's a difference content-wise
Definitely need a remaster of this one. Or remake. I recently bought it for the PS3 and I was wishing for Backwards compatibility for the PS5 but we’ll never get it
@@xperted___pt234 I know it’s the funniest thing. Sony doesn’t care. They could of easily put a PS2 emulator or software in it. Especially PS1. PS3 will always be a lost cause just because they don’t want to deal with it. Fuck PSNow

Great video. I'd say 360 is the best version. This should be remastered, but with the same voice acting, like the Destroy All Humans remake.
Here I can conclude that the Xbox 360 and PS3 graphics are better than the PC and PC texture in more detail than the PS3 and Xbox 360
I grew up with the psp versión and I loved it was a good experience
I was waiting for this!! ;)
Hope you enjoyed it!
Why everyone says we need a remastered??
We need a *REMAKE*
I find the differences very weird and I don't think because technical reasons
Ps3 for the win. Loved this game back in the day
I love these comparisons, keep up! :D
Thank you
Definitely need a remaster of this one. Or remake. I recently bought it for the PS3 and I was wishing for Backwards compatibility for the PS5 but we’ll never get it
Ps5 ain’t backwards compatible
@@xperted___pt234 thanks for the info I didn’t realize it
@@TheSubZero187 the new Xbox can play old ps2 and arcade games, Dreamcast Atari and all that
@@xperted___pt234 I know it’s the funniest thing. Sony doesn’t care. They could of easily put a PS2 emulator or software in it. Especially PS1. PS3 will always be a lost cause just because they don’t want to deal with it. Fuck PSNow
@@TheSubZero187 and the ps classic on the ps4 store don’t even got good games or they bother to put anything new
Now we are waiting for godfather 2)
Yo man, I've been a fan of you for the longest time and I was just wondering if you would be OK with me inviting people to The Official RookerVisison Dicord Server, and if you'd make it your Discord server. It'd mean a lot to me, 'cause this community isn't the biggest but it's the best I've ever seen, honestly. Nerds like us really need a dedicated discussing "place", and I really wish you'd consider this small thing, because it would really give me a place to talk to gamers that care about the small diffrences in gaming.
Feel free my man. And I do have my RookerVision Discord server listed on my front page and every video? Is there a different RookerVision Discord someone else is running?
@@RookerVision Wait, there already is a Discord server that you run?
This is my gta games in that era. The fighting and shooting is so realistic compare to gta itself
Good work!👍
Actually André Sogliuzzo voiced Tony Montana in The game
I played the ps3 version its really good this needs a remake for real
Can you make videos based off the ps3 about games that play/look better or has extra content
Nice work
i grew up with the pc version
i wonder if this game works with windows 10
I have this game on ps2. I loove this game!
please make a sbs video about re-volt. i'm really loved this game in my childhood especially playing split screen with friends
and this game had generally functional open-world mechanics (police chases for starters) back in 2006 vs Cyberpunk in 2020, made by Visceral Games (Dead Space developers), and published by EA of all companies as the final sleeping with the fishes warrant for Cyberpunk, whom y'all knew we're some of the most notorious gaming companies in recent times for their lust for money by doing pervasive microtransactions in their games
I played and finished the Xbox version andi really enjoyed it. Now i m playing the Wii version. The xbox version has way better graphics, but the wii version has a better gameplay with the motion controllers and new content.
Idk if should play the ps2, wii or pc version? Might do ps2 and windows since that seems have more details. Or wii….idk
Great video my man (p.s its stubbertville)
Thank you. and Thank you
7:30 why was this comparison removed
